Chapter 11 Evans

The second round of 'interrogation' has ended.

After setting aside their mundane identities as Wallfacers and Wallbreakers, Luo Qing and Evans talked for a long time.

The two talked about everything from the Trisolaran civilization to daily life, with Evans recounting his unhappy childhood and the unhealed wounds of the Cold War.

"It will all pass, and people should look forward," Luo Qing said.

“The path is long and difficult, so let us follow the current upstream,” said Daoist Luo Qing.

When asked by Evans about his future plans, Luo Qing explained, "I still have two movies to film, 'Dao Zong Zong Zhu 3' and 'Xiu Zhen Zhe Lianmeng 4: Dao Mo Zhan Wai'. I have to go to the set later. Sigh, so annoying and busy. I even made an appointment to play games with Dr. Luo Ji in the middle of the night. I hope the latency in Northern Europe won't be too high."

Luo Qing slumped into the chair, revealing the same expression as Ge You.

Evans, leaning back in the interrogation chair, said, "I seriously doubt you became a Wallfacer just for fun... Wait, you don't actually want to be an Oscar winner, do you?"

"If you only want the world to accept your identity as a cultivator in advance, you can just announce it directly through a live television broadcast. Believe me, the ignorant masses will only regard you as the incarnation of God, the true savior."

Luo Qing said, "The movie must be finished. I'm not satisfied until I win the Oscar... That damned Oscar committee doesn't give me, the one who's been facing the wall, any face at all, making me a runner-up for so many years."

"I'm going to inspect the Oscar committee in a couple of days. If they still don't give me face, I'll disband this organization!" Luo Qing said viciously.

Evans hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

We can't give out Oscars without a clear conscience... Of course, Evans didn't say that.

Evans could only say, "Is it possible, Mr. Luo Qing, that your acting skills need some further refinement?"

"Does my acting still need polishing?" Luo Qing's expression changed drastically: "I'm just playing myself."

"It's a natural performance, but many of your roles are really unremarkable. They all have a cold face, carry a sword, and their interactions with female sect members are even less interesting. The only interesting part is when they're fighting demonic cultivators."

"That's how ruthless sword cultivators are, you don't know anything," Luo Qing retorted.

"But it's really hard for an actor with a blank expression to win Best Actor; being handsome alone is useless."

"Bullshit, do you know anything about cultivating immortality or do I know anything about cultivating immortality?" Luo Qing pulled out a spirit sword and pointed it at the man breaking through the wall.

Evans remained silent.

"I'll show it to you after I finish filming 'The Master of the Dao Sect 3'."

Evans waved his hands repeatedly in refusal: "Spare me, Mr. Luo Qing. I've watched every one of your movies at least dozens of times. I'm really sick of them. Right now, I just want to enjoy the good life in prison without having to watch you. I never want to hear anything about the Wallfacers again in my life."

Luo Qing hesitated and said:

"From what you're saying, you seem to be looking forward to your prison life?"

“Of course.” Evans gave a smile that looked more like a grimace. “Compared to other Wallbreakers, I’m lucky enough. Really, future Wallbreakers may not be as lucky as me.”

“Your fellow Wallbreakers won’t have a chance to appear again. I’ll take care of them ahead of time,” Luo Qing pondered for a moment. “Actually, when I said I’d let you hibernate for four hundred years, I wasn’t joking. Are you willing?”

Evans stood up and bowed deeply: "Although I would love to, I am too tired. Let me rest in peace in this century. I am really not interested in the future."

Luo Qing, however, did not do as he wished.

The interrogation room was powered back on, and Luo Qing relayed his orders to the outside world through the microphone.

"From this moment on, all charges against Mr. Evans, the fifth wallbreaker, are dropped. The PDC and all countries in the world are prohibited from conducting any form of tracking or surveillance on Evans. Transfer 20 million RMB to his account, deducted from my film salary and royalties. This is part of the plan!"

Evans stared blankly at Luo Qing.

Luo Qing grabbed Evans by the collar and sneered, "Hehehe, I'm going to make sure you live a long life. Not only will you enjoy my sequel, but you'll also live to see how I crush your so-called First Fleet step by step."

"This is inappropriate..."

Evans struggled and fell to the ground.

Subsequently, Luo Qing turned off the main power switch in the interrogation room again.

Tomoko silently recorded this scene.

Evans wanted to speak, but Luo Qing interrupted him without hesitation.

"Stop talking and just feel it."

"How do you feel?"

Luo Qing pointed and directly cast a silencing spell on Evans.

Evans: '?' The two stared at each other in silence for five minutes in the empty little house.

Five minutes later, the silencing spell was lifted. Luo Qing clapped his hands, stroked his non-existent beard a few times, and his long robe fluttered without wind, giving him an air of otherworldly elegance.

"You've remembered everything I just said, haven't you?"

"What?" Evans was dumbfounded. What did he just say? He clearly didn't say anything.

Luo Qing remained silent, but simply pushed open the door to the interrogation room.

"I'm leaving now. See you again someday, my dear Mr. Wallbreaker."

It wasn't until this moment that Evans realized what was happening, and he was both shocked and furious: "You didn't tell me anything—"

It's too late.

Two police officers with grim faces helped Evans out of the interrogation room, and the first interrogator came to Evans.

With a complicated expression, he read aloud from a hastily printed A4 sheet of paper: "Wallbreaker Evans, you are acquitted. Here is your bank card with twenty million in it."

"???"

"Wait, you can't treat me like this! I want to go to jail! I want to go to jail! I'm a wallbreaker, I've broken the law!"

But the two detectives ignored them, forcibly grabbed the man from the left and right, and threw him out.

Evans knew in his heart that everything was over. He was thrown out of Qincheng Prison as if in a dream. Looking at the towering Northern City in the distance, he fell into deep thought.

Sure enough, Zhizi's problem followed immediately.

What did he just talk to you about?

Evans knew this was indeed the case. He gave a wry smile and said, "Lord, if I said that the Wallfacer didn't say anything to me, and we were simply silent, would you believe me?"

But Tomoko never responded again.

That last sentence was the final exchange between Zhizi and the fifth wallbreaker.

Once a barrier of doubt is formed, it can never be eliminated.

For Luo Qing, from the moment the Wallbreaker was pardoned, the other party could no longer pose any threat.

Ultimately, Luo Qing was only wary of the omnipresent Zhi Zi; the Wallbreaker was just an ordinary person, no matter how much he tried to influence things.

During the half-hour conversation with the wallbreaker, Luo Qing obtained far more crucial information than the interrogator, some of which caught his attention.

It's about the other three Wallfacers.

Having learned from Taylor's experience of being broken through the barrier, Luo Qing knew he had to eliminate the threat of other barrier breakers, or at least prolong the time it would take for his colleagues to be broken through.

It seems I need to find some time to have a good talk with my other three colleagues.

Urging countries around the world to intensify their efforts to combat ETOs should also be put on the agenda.

Luo Qing didn't mind personally taking action to wipe out these ETOs, after all, the feeling of being hit by anti-aircraft guns made him very unhappy.

Sword cultivators are known for holding grudges.

Luo Qing also wanted to try out the Three-Body Problem game mentioned by the Wallbreaker, and he had already obtained the game ID of the Wallbreaker, Evans.

Vincent Willem van Gogh

Luo Qing knew of a 19th-century Post-Impressionist painter and admired his paintings.

As crackdowns from various countries become more frequent, ETO’s internal communications have gradually shifted from offline to online, and the Three-Body Problem game has become their main platform for communication.

The current Three-Body game can only be accessed through ETO's internal identification code and iris scan, which has blocked many agents from various countries who want to infiltrate the Three-Body game to intercept ETO intelligence.

However, the "Van Gogh" account is acceptable, and as for iris recognition, Luo Qing has plenty of methods for that.

As for whether Zhizi would warn ETO in advance to change the login password, Luo Qing was not worried about that.

Regardless, playing the "Three-Body Problem" game and visiting the other three Wallfacers are Luo Qing's next plans.

As for his own plan to retreat into seclusion...

Let's wait until the movie I'm in finishes filming before talking about it.
