Chapter 76 My Student

It has to be said that although the little old lady is not tall, her aura in front of outsiders is really undeniable.

Judging from the middle-aged man's attitude towards Professor Mu, there is a clear difference in their status. At least in academic fields, Professor Mu is a big shot.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be here at his age to be their pillar of support.

Lin Mo followed behind the two men, listening to the middle-aged man showering Professor Mu with compliments, from his academic achievements to his offspring, and even complimenting Professor Mu's health, making sure to cover everything.

Lin Mo said that he had finally gotten his hands on some fine food, but he didn't expect that complimenting people required skill. In any case, he really couldn't have said such sophisticated things.

As for the technical terms that occasionally popped up during their conversation, he had never heard of them before, and even though they were all in Chinese, he couldn't understand a thing of them.

In the short distance, the middle-aged man flattered Professor Mu while also showcasing his own knowledge, his flattery perfectly executed, demonstrating impeccable social skills.

As Lin Mo entered the venue, a group of middle-aged and elderly people stood up to greet him, and the words they spoke were almost identical to those of the middle-aged man.

As soon as Professor Mu sat down, Lin Mo handed the old lady her bag, then asked the waiter standing behind her for a glass, poured tea from the thermos, and opened the mineral water bottle in front of Professor Mu.

"Professor Mu, please call me if you need anything. I'll be right outside."

Lin Mo looked around and saw that besides the service staff, he was the only assistant. He thought it would be better to wait outside. The place was full of big shots, which made him feel a little uncomfortable.

Professor Mu nodded. After he left, a middle-aged woman next to him smiled and said, "Senior sister, your little assistant is very meticulous and looks quite energetic."

"These are senior students from our school, temporarily filling in for me to help carry some things. I can't compare to you young people," Professor Mu said slowly, taking a sip of tea. Clearly, he was quite satisfied with Lin Mo's work.

The woman next to him, whose hair was half white, shook her head and smiled bitterly. She was over fifty years old, yet she was still being called a young person. It had been so long since that word had been used on her.

But looking at her senior sister with a full head of white hair, she chose to keep quiet.

After Lin Mo came out, a staff member came up to ask if he needed to log in to his room information.

Knowing that he would be spending the night in the city, Lin Mo quickly nodded and registered Professor Mu's name. After all, these were things that he, as the assistant, should do, as the driver, Brother Wang, had specifically instructed him on before they came.

Carrying Professor Mu's suitcase, I followed the hotel staff upstairs. Professor Mu was arranged into a deluxe suite, which was exquisitely decorated. It was obvious that the hotel staff had done their homework beforehand.

Lin Mo's room was next door; it was just a simple standard room, but because it was a well-known high-end hotel in Jiangning City, even the standard room was luxuriously decorated.

After putting away Professor Mu's and his own belongings separately, Lin Mo took the two room keys and came out, since he had said he would wait outside.

There were sofas outside the venue, so Lin Mo found a corner and continued studying the middle volume of Tuina and Bone Setting.

Time passed by unnoticed. Since his memory improved, he has been very efficient at studying, and even his concentration has improved.

At 11 a.m., the doors of the conference hall suddenly opened, and a group of academic luminaries walked out, including some blond-haired, blue-eyed foreigners.

Seeing this, Lin Mo closed the book and got up to wait for Professor Mu, but almost everyone had left and he still hadn't seen him. He had no choice but to go inside and look for him.

"Hey you, Xiaolin, yes, you, come here right now!"

As soon as Lin Mo entered, he noticed a middle-aged woman waving at him, while Professor Mu remained seated motionless.

"What's wrong, Professor Mu?" Lin Mo quickly stepped forward to ask.

Professor Mu took a deep breath and said, "It's nothing, I'm just angry!"

"Senior sister, even if you're angry, you can't throw your shoe at someone's head! We can't even find it now!" the woman beside her said helplessly.

Lin Mo: ? ? ?
Sure enough, when he looked down, he found that the old lady was missing one shoe, and the entire venue was in a mess.

There were unidentified documents and papers, mineral water bottles scattered everywhere, and even banana peels. Those in the know would understand it was an academic discussion; those who didn't might mistake it for a United Nations meeting.

Lin Mo put down his book and quickly helped the old lady find her shoes.

"Why not? So what if they're foreigners? Even if they're the King of Heaven himself, it doesn't matter!" Professor Mu said, slamming his hand on the table.

Watching from the side, Lin Mo could already imagine the old lady wreaking havoc inside, even throwing shoes at people—it was too brutal!

But then again, academic discussions, which are essentially debates, should be approached with magnanimity, and there's nothing wrong with that!

Professor Mu found his shoes under the table opposite him, put them on, and sighed in relief. He then said, "Let's go eat; we still have to continue this afternoon."

As she spoke, she noticed the book on massage and bone setting on Lin Mo's desk.

"You like watching this?"

Lin Mo scratched his head, somewhat embarrassed, and said, "Just killing time, watching for fun."

"Young people should avoid this kind of stuff; it's infuriating, especially for those studying medicine, particularly traditional Chinese medicine."

After saying that, the old lady got up and left.

Lin Mo:
It seems like I was attacked for no reason.
Then Lin Mo took Professor Mu and the other person to eat. Because there were many people, the restaurant was set up as a buffet, which was very high-end and much better than the meal they had in their dormitory.

It has everything from steak and salmon to seafood, as well as various staple foods.

Lin Mo happily enjoyed a high-end buffet meal, feeling that today's trip was worthwhile.

After the meal, Professor Mu did not return to the hotel to rest. Instead, he went to a small conference room with only four people.

There were two men and two women, all over fifty-five years old on average. They were Professor Mu, Professor Mu's junior sister Bai Xuelan, Cheng Ran, the middle-aged man who came out to greet them, Professor Cheng, and another person they didn't recognize, but who looked very knowledgeable, Professor Sun, who was also the only old man about the same age as Professor Mu.

Lin Mo followed, originally intending to wait outside, but Professor Mu, who had just sat down, handed him a water glass, indicating that he should pour himself a glass of water.

Lin Mo took the water glass, looked at the other three, and thought for a moment that he still needed to be more perceptive.

Fortunately, there was a tea set on the table in the small conference room, so they quickly boiled water.

I picked up the tea leaves on the table and smelled them. I found they were aged Pu'er tea. This kind of tea gets better with age, and it's of decent quality.

After the water boils, pour it out, press down with your wrist, and discard the first brew of tea. This naturally brings out the art of tea ceremony with your hands.

The entire set of movements was fluid and unhurried, making it a pleasure to watch.

Lin Mo was making tea when he suddenly realized there was no sound in the room. He looked up and saw four old men and women staring at him blankly.

"Young man, did you study this specifically?" Professor Sun, with his full head of white hair, asked.

"I've learned a little bit, please have a taste," Lin Mo nodded and poured a cup for each of the four of them.

"Not bad, not bad, this tea-making skill is quite good." Professor Sun took a sip, a satisfied look on his face, and then continued, "Old Mu, your assistant is quite good, with this skill too. Is he your student? If not, come work for me."

Before he could finish speaking, Professor Mu interrupted, "Yes, my student!"

Professor Sun:
Lin Mo: ? ? ?
Professor Bai: Senior sister, that's not what you said before!
