Chapter 11 11 Eagle's Nest

Chapter 11. The Eagle's Nest
"Watch."

Gu Mufeng gripped Su Li's neck, which seemed as if it could snap with a single stroke, and his fingertips savored her rapid swallowing. The mirror mercilessly reflected her satiated state.

Intertwined with an instinctive avoidance, her beautiful face, red lips and white teeth, was betrayed by a broken gaze. Su Li twisted and turned, wanting only to escape her reflection in the mirror. Gu Mufeng, however, relentlessly retaliated against her scheming, coldly forcing her to look directly at him.

She raised her hand and touched her reflection in the mirror. Her fingertips trembled slightly. Resistance and longing clashed in her eyes, ultimately coalescing into a real desire.

"Su Li, look closely, this is also you." His voice was deep as he whispered firmly and coldly into her reddened ear, "Never forget this again."

Reluctantly, when Su Li finally lazily opened her eyes, the midday sun had already streamed through the French windows, casting a golden glow.

She curled up softly in the blankets, burying her head in the fluffy pillows. The bed was unbelievably large and so soft that it was easy to sink into it. The silk-covered down comforter was smooth and warm, seemingly still retaining his warmth.

Of course, this was by no means Su Li's first time. After becoming an adult, she had dated several boyfriends and accumulated some experience. The night she first met Gu Mufeng, her mind was in turmoil, and apart from his impressive physique and size, she couldn't remember the specific feelings. However, last night was different; it was a complete transformation.

She quietly added a mark of pride to his evaluation sheet. For the first time, she truly felt that beneath the carefully guarded exterior she wore day and night, perhaps lay a more fearless self.

At this moment, she curled up in a half-dreaming, half-awake state, hugging the blanket and lazily reminiscing. How could he be both domineering and possessive, yet also tender and considerate of her feelings?
Entrusting herself to him, she temporarily forgot the mundane affairs of the world. In the throes of intense passion, principles, wisdom, and class vanished instantly, leaving only the most primal instincts between people, until they put their clothes back on.

Humans are so strange.

Su Li didn't know what time he finally let her go last night and was able to fall asleep, but she had a deep and restless sleep.

When she finally reluctantly propped up her shoulders and let out a satisfied yawn, the silk quilt cover slid off along the curve of her stretch, and she was still limp and powerless.

Compared to last night, the bedroom was now eerily quiet.

This spacious and bright bedroom features a curtain wall and high windows, facing south and bathed in sunlight, perched atop the bustling city center river view like an eagle's nest.

The room's color scheme is minimalist, with white oak wall panels and a dark blue wool carpet, devoid of any superfluous colors. The only eye-catching element is the occasional brass ornament, yet it adds no life to the room.

Suddenly, Su Li felt that the bedroom was more like an empty shell, devoid of warmth and belonging. Apart from a pale green orchid on the wine cabinet, there were no other signs of life in the entire apartment, nor any traces that could tell the story of the owner's life.

As for the furniture, it is more unified in style and there is no redundancy.

Her clothes were haphazardly folded on the armchair: but not his. Sunlight streamed down, flowing silently like gold. As far as Su Li could see, there was no trace of Gu Mufeng having ever been here. The entire bedroom was spotless.

For a moment, she felt dazed: last night felt like an unreal dream. Perhaps it was because she was so desperate to escape the predicament of the 120,000 yuan life-saving money that she fantasized…

Her heart sank rapidly. Su Li frantically groped for her phone under her pillow, needing to check her account balance to confirm that she hadn't made a false promise. It was as if she needed the cold, hard reality to slap her awake, reminding her that she wasn't dreaming.

Her hand slid across the smooth, silken sheets, and unexpectedly, only her wrist felt taut, dull, and rough. She raised her hand.

Last night, her wrists were raw and chafed from being kidnapped. But now they're all wrapped in brand new...bandages...?
Was it him? Last night, while she was asleep... Gu Mufeng personally bandaged her wounds? That can't be right.

Su Li smiled bitterly: He didn't seem like a delicate and gentle person at all. Clearly, his passion and desire were bursting forth like fleeting moments of brilliance. Yet Gu Mufeng himself seemed cold and heartless, devoid of any humanity.

Silently biting her lip, Su Li faintly tasted the sweet aftertaste of blood on her tongue. She recalled how she had been too unrestrained last night, accidentally biting her own lip while biting his firm abs.

Lost in thought, she stared intently at the bandage on her wrist. Su Li pouted: Don't think you can bribe her like that.

Ignoring her inexplicably racing heart, Su Li stubbornly refused to think any further. She decisively let go, only to find her phone and old cardholder neatly moved to the bedside table. In her current account, after her original two-digit balance, a long string of sweet zeros had silently appeared. Su Li stared blankly at this unfamiliar number for a long time.

and many more……?
She counted again. Her heart pounding, Su Li immediately opened her phone and searched: "How much does a 24-year-old graduate student usually get?"

The numbers that appeared in the search left her speechless. Looking down at the numbers on her phone, Su Li found it utterly absurd: the amount Gu Mufeng had given her was almost equivalent to several years of her living expenses. But as if by coincidence, it was deliberately less than 120,000.

Even if one party is willing to give and the other is willing to receive, after his casual "favor," what do people really amount to compared to each other?

Su Li gritted her teeth inwardly. This world...

She receives a monthly scholarship of 800 yuan, and with her part-time job salary, she only earns a total of 4,000 yuan. It would be quite good if she could save even 10% of that 4,000 yuan steadily over time.

Even though she had dated several wealthy ex-boyfriends, the most she ever received was a one-time emergency payment of a little over ten thousand yuan, along with miscellaneous material subsidies and transfers. But Gu Mufeng merely raised his hand and slipped a ridiculous string of zeros through his fingers to reward her.

Caught between the dilemma of "hanging all capitalists on lampposts" and "what does what I'm doing really mean?", Su Li couldn't bear to look away from those zeros, and her heart was beating faster and faster.

She quickly shook her head to clear her mind, paused for a moment, and then rapidly drew almost all the numbers to settle the hospital deposit debt, ensuring her mother's surgery could proceed as scheduled.

She must have been forced by circumstances to take this money. Before her eyes welled up with tears, Su Li gave a bitter smile. It seemed too late for her to salvage her dignity.

After burying her head deep in the blankets for a long time, Su Li erased this obsession, as if not thinking about it would allow her to maintain her innocence. Then, she closed her eyes.

She let out a long sigh, a breath she had been holding back for so long.

She pulled out the card holder again: to her surprise, it was heavy. Inside were two metal credit cards. The gold and black colors complemented each other luxuriously, both bearing Gu Mufeng's name. Clearly, he didn't care how much she spent.

That's fine. That's it, I'll just "accompany" him a few more times.

However, when Su Li searched through the card holder again, she couldn't find the note with the phone number written by Gu Mufeng himself. She had carefully put it away.

"You finally woke up?"

His voice was indifferent, yet it carried a hint of intimate teasing.

Having silently observed her for an unknown period of time, Gu Mufeng leaned against the bedroom door.
