Deadly Trap.

Chapter 8.8 Unavoidable Dilemma

Chapter 8. A Necessary Fact
Her words, like a small boat, drifted lightly, carried out of her mouth by the ripples of Su Li's gentle breaths. The air seemed to freeze for a fleeting moment.

She gave him what he wanted. Gu Mufeng could also fulfill her urgent request for 120,000 yuan to save her mother. For him, it was merely a fleeting moment of warmth. Regardless of the danger to him, would he let her take whatever she wanted?

Looking directly into Gu Mufeng's abyss-like eyes, Su Li knew that her current wounded and pitiful appearance held a tempting allure for him, like a knife slicing through his heart.

He couldn't suppress his desire and passion at that moment. However, Gu Mufeng remained silent.

“Before tonight,” he suddenly said.

Gu Mufeng's gaze lingered on Su Li's bruised wrist. At that moment, she was pressed against his pounding heart. His brows furrowed imperceptibly. A complex mix of emotions, like a deep, dark sea, settled in his phoenix-shaped eyes.

As a senior from Min Cai University, he did have a fleeting fantasy... of possessing her.

“I did get lucky with you.” But then he changed the subject, his tone cold but unwavering: “But now, I can no longer afford to be complacent.”

Su Li's heart sank.

After a moment, his voice as deep and still as a still pool, he finally spoke the rest of his words:
"There is no place for a girlfriend in my world."

His lips were pressed tightly together. Gu Mufeng's gaze was deep as he stated the simplest of facts. As he finished speaking, he smoothed out his sleeves, as if wiping away a grain of sand from his heart.

Su Li was stunned. Even though she had expected it, those words still pierced her pride: she had actually naively thought that simply showing weakness... could solve everything?
She gave a cold laugh.

On the night they first met, she rejected him without hesitation; now, he rejects her just the same way.

Su Li couldn't help but laugh at herself: So, they... are even now?

“...But,” Gu Mufeng continued, “if you want to be with me so badly.”

His tone was pressing. His lowered eyes held a complex and unreadable expression, yet his resolute gaze was undeniably piercing, almost touching her. Su Li had nowhere to retreat.

"Be my mistress."

Mistress. As he uttered the words, his Adam's apple bobbed, and a complex self-mockery flashed in his eyes. It seemed even he hadn't expected those two words to slip out. But only in this way would she no longer be hurt because of him.

Calmly and without omitting a single word, as if driven by an overwhelming desire, Gu Mufeng firmly stated his demand to Su Li: to make her his possession, his sole owner.

A full head taller than Su Li, Gu Mufeng looked down at her. At this moment, he lowered his head, his lips slightly pursed. That handsome face—

Shameless.

Enraged, Su Li raised her hand without thinking and slapped Gu Mufeng. Her hand was already about to strike Gu Mufeng's ear. But somehow, at that moment, Gu Mufeng snatched her right hand, which she hadn't held back in the slightest.

Using the ten-centimeter height difference, he leaned down, his arrogant, cold eyes getting extremely close. Su Li had no choice but to lean back slightly, creating some distance between them.

Calmly avoiding Gu Mufeng's undeniable gaze, Su Li retorted without backing down, "Oh? I think it's you who wants to be with me so much."

This time, without any attempt to hide it, Gu Mufeng laughed: "I suppose so."

Before Su Li could answer, Gu Mufeng had already grabbed her swollen wrist and, ignoring her cries of pain, pulled her tightly into his arms.

This time, he lowered his eyes and first gave her a deep kiss on the lips.

Soft, deep, and fiery. It carried the taste of fresh blood from his own tongue, which he had just bitten through in his endurance.

Compared to the kiss she forcibly took from him on their first night together, his kiss was exactly the same. It was as all-encompassing as the ocean, and as fiery as magma. He burned away all her layers of scheming and guardedness, completely stripping away her anxieties and fears.

Enveloped by his gentle body, Su Li's hands, initially hesitant to resist, gradually softened in his warmth, allowing herself to relax...

Su Li knew. From the moment they bumped into each other in the hotel lobby, they shared a primal and unresolved tension that would ignite at the slightest touch.

But she didn't understand why.

Why, deep in their souls, did she and he seem to share a deeper, more inseparable resonance and entanglement: not the animalistic "desire," not the chemical "emotion," but also... "love."

A brief respite after a kiss.

She held him tightly, reluctant to part. Their breaths mingled tenderly, their lips still entwined, almost touching. Su Li gently raised her eyes.

Behind Gu Mufeng's exceptionally handsome face, outside this hospital where money is spent day and night, the world is vast enough to accommodate eight billion people constantly striving for life and death. And she, she couldn't even afford the 120,000 yuan needed to save her mother's life. Her intelligence, future prospects, self-respect, and self-love were like duckweed, constantly on the verge of being overturned by hail. She couldn't save herself with morality.

She briefly closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and swallowed the humiliation and resentment that welled up in her throat. When she opened her eyes again, her gaze was as calm as ever.

Softly nestled on Gu Mufeng's shoulder, Su Li's eyes, like a moth drawn to the flickering light behind a fan, were relentlessly drawn in, gradually becoming clear and bright. She wouldn't let him succeed so easily.

Her lips burned, and she whispered her response to his request: "Okay, I'll be your mistress."

A hint of smugness flickered in Gu Mufeng's cold eyes.

“But,” calm yet stubborn, Su Li hugged him and nestled in his arms, saying, “Mu Fei, supporting me is very expensive. I have conditions.”

Gu Mufei raised an eyebrow and coldly retorted, "What do you want?"

Su Li took a deep breath, fiercely suppressing her inner resistance: "You can have my body. I enjoy it more anyway."

She suppressed her racing heart and mimicked his harshest words.

This time, however, with a smile, she looked just as innocent as when she first met him. All the vast, bright light in her pupils flowed directly into Gu Mufeng's unfathomable eyes. Su Li's gaze flickered:
"You must never interfere with my choices."

Silently, Gu Mufeng gazed at the woman in his arms. She was calm, cunning, and enveloped in tenderness, calmly negotiating her terms with him. Wasn't that interesting?

Gu Mufeng's lips curled into a dangerous yet confident smile: "I agree. Do as you please."

He lifted her chin: "But, Su Li."

He lowered his gaze, looking into her eyes. Beneath her sparse hair, his deep, dark pupils pierced through her defenses, his voice infinitely gentle, yet absolutely irresistible.

His lips were right next to hers:
"I will make you do it willingly."

Their lips met...

They kissed for a long time.

Su Li stopped resisting. She had gotten everything she wanted. In the dim night, she let Gu Mufeng gently take her swollen wrist. He led her to the far end of the hospital. Gu Mufeng took out his phone:

"Quenxus, prepare the vehicle. Let's retreat."

As several cars followed and escorted them in the dark, the matte night sky blue Panamera Turbo S executive sedan crossed the Parrot River and drove into the city center of Ishido.

Above the river, ten thousand pagodas soared high. The elevator slowly ascended, finally arriving at the top floor of this flagship apartment, where each unit cost over 100 million. The mirrored elevator doors slid open, and the foyer instantly made Su Li hold her breath—

In the dim light, the crimson Uyghur carpet intertwined with the black and gold marble, reflecting a stunning and awe-inspiring effect. Directly opposite the elevator, the round brass wall mirror, like a full moon, solemnly reflected Su Li's preoccupied face.

Su Li was extremely surprised: she majored in architecture and minored in interior design, but she had never seen such a bold, oppressive, and exquisite layout.

Until she followed him through a side door, the unlit living room came into view. The two-story high ceilings and the entire curtain wall stretched out before her.

The night view of Minzhou is a deep blue, sparkling with starlight, stretching out like a scroll painting. The shadows of the marble fireplace hang low, as deep and unyielding as an impenetrable barrier.

Beside the fireplace, Gu Mufeng's broad shoulders and tall figure stood upright like a pine tree. Composed yet silent, he walked alone into the depths of the living room. A black parrot, Jiang Mangkong, galloped past, disappearing into his silhouette.

It never stays for anyone.

Su Li felt a sudden, inexplicable tremor run through her. Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind:
How can one person compare to the whole world?

[Author's Note | Chapter Eight]

If Gu Mufeng were just an ordinary senior, he would definitely have readily agreed.

But if Gu Mufei were just an ordinary senior, Su Li wouldn't have asked at all.

It wasn't her fault, it wasn't his fault. It was just the world's fault (yes, the author's fault!).

What do you think of Gu Mufeng's seemingly forced and unreasonable request? And what do you think of Su Li's agreement and its conditions?
Tomorrow is the first day of your "marriage" as a newlywed couple. What are your expectations?
