Chapter 3 Leaving
After sending the message, You Sijia guessed that Gu Yu was still driving and didn't reply to her message immediately.

But it didn't matter. In the middle of the night, Yusjia got out of bed and started packing her luggage.

She never intended to play hard to get with Gu Yu, nor did she intend to use threatening words like "break up" or "divorce" to force Gu Yu to choose between her and Tang Yayi.

This is a notification, not a discussion.

She had a lot of things at home, but it seemed that she didn't want to take that much with her.

About half an hour later, Yusjia had packed her suitcase and sent a message to the housekeeper, asking him to arrange a driver to take her to the airport.

While waiting for the driver in the living room downstairs, Yusjia glanced at the two-tiered birthday cake still displayed in the dining room.

There are two little angels on top; it took her quite a while to learn how to make fondant figurines.

What a pity.

Yuska couldn't help but think that she had carefully prepared a cake that she wanted the two of them to share, but in the end, she couldn't have that wish.

Gu Yu replied to the message while You Sijia was on her way to the airport.

[Gu Yu: Let's talk about this when I get back. Don't be impulsive.]

When Yusjia saw the message, she didn't say anything or reply, and put her phone back in her pocket.

Having not received a reply from You Sijia, Gu Yu sent another message half an hour later.

[Gu Yu: I didn't handle things well today, don't be angry, reply to my message.]

This time, Yusjia didn't even take out her phone.

Upon arriving at the airport, Yuska was relieved to have managed to book the next available flight.

Although it's a red-eye flight, it's a direct flight to the capital city of China. The flight time is about seventeen or eighteen hours, so she should be able to get there after a nap.

Yusjia had very little luggage, or even none that she checked in. She went through check-in, security, and even border control when her phone rang.

She hung up immediately when she saw the caller ID.

It was almost 4 a.m. at this point.

After nearly four hours, You Sijia found that she had managed to compose herself after nearly collapsing, and when she saw Gu Yu's call again, she was completely at peace.

It's not that she can just let go of so many years of feelings without any emotional impact. It's just that she's probably just like Jiang Lingyu described: stubborn, inflexible, and headstrong. Once she makes a decision, nothing can change her mind.

Others might not give up until they hit a wall, but she's determined to follow her chosen path, even if it means getting hurt and bleeding.

Gu Yu was the path that You Sijia was determined to walk even if it meant hitting her head. Now she's finally tired of it all, and she wants to stop, turn back, and choose a new path. But the scars on her body haven't fully healed yet, and they still hurt.

After passing through border control, Yusjia finally took out her phone, which had been vibrating non-stop ever since she hung up the call.

The screen already showed more than a dozen missed calls, all from the same person.

Yu Sijia glanced at the time. The number of times Gu Yu called her on the first day after her birthday was probably equal to the number of times he had called her in the entire year.

The number of messages on WeChat is about to explode.

[Gu Yu: You rest first, we'll talk again tomorrow morning, don't be angry.]

She sent the message shortly after arriving at the airport, and then again more than an hour later, around the time Gu Yu made his first phone call to her.

[Gu Yu: Where are you? You Sijia, where are you going in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?]

Yu Sijia raised an eyebrow as she looked at the phone; she had thought Gu Yu wouldn't be coming back that night.

Unexpectedly, looking at the time on his phone, Gu Yu had already returned home around 2 a.m.

[Gu Yu: Answer the phone!]

[Gu Yu: What's with this running away from home? Stop throwing a tantrum, let's sit down and talk it over.] ...

[Gu Yu: Answer the phone!]

……

[Gu Yu: The driver said you went to the airport in the middle of the night. What are you going to the airport for? I'm coming to find you right away. Don't move.]

When Yusjia saw the last message, her expression finally changed.

Is Gu Yu coming to the airport?
She instinctively wanted to stand up, but ultimately held back.

When the staff in the lounge approached Yuska and reminded her that she could now board the plane, Yuska stood up, pulled her small 14-inch suitcase, and walked into the cabin through the VIP passage.

The phone rang again.

This time, Yusika didn't hang up the phone. Some things were better left unsaid. Even if they couldn't be explained in person, it was almost as good over the phone.

"Hey?"

As soon as the call was answered, Yusjia heard heavy breathing on the other end of the phone, as well as the echo of footsteps in the basement.

"Where are you?" Gu Yu's voice sounded somewhat hurried, and there was a hint of inexplicable tension.

"Airport."

"Come out," Gu Yu said. "Let's talk this out. Where do you want to go now? Don't throw a tantrum."

Yu Sijia almost laughed. Even at this point, Gu Yu still thought she was just throwing a tantrum?

Perhaps it was because she had behaved too obediently all these years that he had such a misconception.

“I’ve already boarded the plane, Gu Yu.” You Sijia said softly, “I’m not joking, and I’m not playing any hard to get with you. You know I don’t like those kinds of things. I’m flying directly to the capital now. If you have time, come back and we’ll finalize the divorce.”

"Yustya!"

Whether it was Yustia's imagination or not, she seemed to hear the sound of a man running rapidly in her ears at the same time she heard these words.

"Ah."

"Let's talk this out. Come down first." Gu Yu was indeed running. The international airport was huge. He had previously assumed that Yu Sijia was going to a nearby city to relax. After all, she hadn't taken any of her belongings from home. It seemed like she was just going somewhere for a weekend getaway.

The different terminal forced Gu Yu to run; he was genuinely panicked.

Even though they had disagreements over the years of their marriage, Yustia had never mentioned divorce.

She wouldn't trivialize or trivialize topics like separation and divorce, which are actually very serious, heavy, and depressing. She can be very delicate and pretentious, but she always knows her limits.

At this moment, Gu Yu truly felt panicked.

He felt it was a good time to be with Yusjia; life was somewhat mundane, but he never considered divorce.

So many people, haven't they all lived their lives like this? Besides, the two families have interests involved, so separating isn't so easy.

Perhaps he himself didn't understand it. In fact, when he married Yusjia, he never thought that there would be a day of divorce.

But now, Yuska has brought this problem, which he had never considered before, right to his doorstep.

"No need." The voice that responded to Gu Yu now was calm, almost cold. "Gu Yu, I'm tired. All these years I've been chasing after you. I'm tired, I want to stop." She paused. "Let's get a divorce. I don't want to continue."

After saying this, Yusjia hung up the phone without waiting for the other person's reaction.

She drew the curtains, reclined the chair, took out a blanket and eye mask, lay down, and closed her eyes.

She thought, "I'll feel better after a good night's sleep."
