Chapter 4: Protect yourself from men, and protect yourself from women too.
After a long while, Yan Changye finally spoke slowly:
"If she makes any more trouble, I'll kill her."

My childhood friend Chen Jinzhou whistled:

"Kill him? I've followed you for years, isn't that a bit unfair of you?"

Yan Changye's expression was calm, and his tone was serious: "You can eat whatever you want, but don't say whatever you want. Apart from my wife, I have never been touched by any other woman. If you want to damage my reputation, then I can only destroy your assets."

"No, no, it took me ten years to coax an entertainment company out of my father's hands. It's nothing compared to your wealth and power, Young Master." Chen Jinzhou apologized perfunctorily. "If you're really itching for a fight, go after Xie Yunxi. I heard he's been trending about you for two days now."

Yan Changye was too lazy to speak.

He casually picked up the coffee the secretariat had brought him and slowly said, "Anything else? If not, I'll hang up."

"Nothing else, just curious, why did you hit Xie Yunxi's son?" Chen Jinzhou couldn't help but gossip. "That's the grandson of the Xie family, the number one conglomerate in Hong Kong."

"You like gossip so much? I'll expose all the artists under your management later, and you'll have your fill of it?"

"No, no, I won't ask anymore, okay!" Chen Jinzhou had been in the entertainment industry for many years and knew how wild those glamorous stars were behind the scenes. They couldn't stand being exposed. "Leave my entertainment company alone, Brother Yan, no, Father Yan, I'll take my leave if there's nothing else."

The phone hangs up.

Yan Changye hesitated for a few seconds, then opened WeChat and brought up the chat window with the contact name 'Xie Yunxi':
Y: [You're demanding ten million from my wife?]

Xie Yunxi: [Hug.gif]

Y: [Replying so quickly? Were you playing games on your phone again?]

Xie Yunxi: [Smiling face.jpg]

Y: [I don't have ten million, but I'll send you a two-hundred-yuan red envelope. Stop bothering my wife.]

Xie Yunxi: [Two hundred? That's like giving money to a beggar.]

Y: [Add another fifty? Never mind then.]

Xie Yunxi: [Alright!]

Y: [...]

Looking at the chat box, Yan Changye initiated a transfer of 250 yuan with mixed feelings.

The other party received it instantly.

Yan Changye stared at the other person's profile picture for a while, then exited the chat box with a hint of disdain.

Muchan Studio.

Jiang Manman, dressed in a dark blue brocade cheongsam, walked into her office. Several more orders for high-end evening gowns had piled up on her desk.

She arrived late, during her lunch break, when several of her employees were making coffee and chatting.
"I heard that the photos of that Prince Yanjing were trending on social media this morning. Has anyone seen them? Isn't he as devastatingly beautiful as the rumors say?"

"There's only a blurry shadow. Are you kidding me? Which media outlet would dare to publish a frontal photo? They'd have a death wish!"

"Sigh, what a pity! I've heard he's ruined the socialite circles in the capital. I've always been curious, just how good-looking must he be!"

"Forget it, we'll never have the chance to meet people at that level in our lifetime."

……

Behind her, a gentle yet slightly aloof voice rang out: "Who are you talking about?"

"Boss!" Several employees immediately greeted her, and then someone eagerly handed her a cup of her favorite fruit tea.

“We were talking about that rich kid from Beijing’s social circle.” Designer Ayla lowered her voice. “The one who’s known as the cinnabar mole of all the socialites in the capital. Boss, you should have heard of him. A large portion of our orders come from his socialite fan club!” Jiang Manman lazily picked up her teacup and slowly took a sip: “Hmm, I’ve heard of him.”

The new design assistant asked curiously, "How did our project get involved with that person?"

"It's not so much about having a connection, but I've heard that whenever a woman wears our Mu Chan products, that young master's gaze always lingers on her for a couple more seconds."

After designer Ayla finished speaking, she added, "To be precise, only products designed by our boss himself can get a second glance from the young master."

The designer's assistant looked at Jiang Manman with immediate admiration.

Jiang Manman calmly changed the subject: "The Hundred Flowers Film Festival is next month. I remember we have three celebrity clients on hand. Let's put everything else aside for now, focus on these clients, and try to break into the high-end market."

As a clothing design studio that has only been established for five years, Mu Chan was almost in debt for the first three years. It was only in the last two years that it suddenly gained popularity among the socialites in the capital and received a lot of custom orders.

Nevertheless, Muchan's foundation is still shallow, and it will need to make a lot of efforts if it wants to break into the high-end market.

The red carpet has always been the primary battleground in the fashion industry, with many studios gaining fame and recognition simply because of a celebrity's gown.

Mu Chan is somewhat popular in high society circles, but she is still a nobody in the celebrity circle. She has only recently taken on three jobs for 18th-tier celebrities, and she may not even have the opportunity to walk the red carpet. Nevertheless, Jiang Manman still attaches great importance to her.

“Don’t worry, boss, we will definitely do our best.” Ayla paused for a moment, “However, that artist named Sena is particularly picky. I sent her a lot of templates but she was not satisfied. When I asked her what style she liked, she couldn’t give a clear answer. She’s quite difficult to deal with.”

Jiang Manman thought for a moment and said, "I will personally follow up on Sena's order."

Ayla breathed a sigh of relief: "With the boss involved, there's no problem."

"Send me her contact information later."

The phone rang. Jiang Manman glanced at the caller ID, left a final message, and returned to her office.

The design assistant stared at Jiang Manman's retreating figure with starry eyes: "Our boss is so beautiful!"

Ayla sighed softly, "Just look and that's enough. Keep your distance. She's married, and her husband is an extremely possessive person. He's very wary of anyone who appears near the boss, regardless of gender."

The assistant was incredulous: "It can't be that bad..."

Ayla chuckled: "The last female assistant was afraid of thunder when she went on a business trip with the boss, so she crawled into his bed. I heard she left the capital the next day..."

Jiang Manman, who hadn't had time to close the door, happened to hear this. She paused for a few seconds before casually closing the office door.

Actually, the rumors Ayla mentioned were incomplete.

Last month, during a thunderstorm, my delicate little assistant was shivering and wanted me to sleep with her. But that scoundrel who did nothing all day long was dressed in a low-cut, see-through bathrobe and showed up at the hotel intending to play some fun with me. I caught him red-handed.

The assistant cried her eyes out, but the scoundrel acted as if half the sky had fallen, glaring at her resentfully for days, as if he'd caught his wife cheating. He made a huge scene and caused all sorts of trouble.

Jiang Manman was really afraid of his restless nature, and after that, she dared not be in the same room with her employees even if it was thundering or snowing.

Thinking of this, and then seeing the arrogant word "husband" on her phone screen, Jiang Manman's patience waned.

She answered the phone slowly: "What?"

Yan Changye's voice was low, husky, and sexy, with a very obvious suggestive meaning: "I miss my darling."

Jiang Manman: "...I'm very busy, let's get straight to the point."

Yan Changye said lazily, "Xie Yunxi's situation has been resolved."
