Chapter 14 Summoning Ghosts

Chapter 14 Summoning Ghosts (13)

At a crossroads at night, the young man, realizing what he had done, dropped his bowl and chopsticks in terror and fled frantically, losing all reason.

In a makeshift funeral hall, the woman looked down at her "companion" dressed in the clothes of the dead and casually turned off the alarm clock that was reminding him to wake up.

In the dark woods, the person who had been hiding for a long time suddenly felt someone gently pat their shoulder.

In the pitch-black operating room, a woman with a slightly protruding belly, who looked pregnant, tied strips of cloth to the headboard and then put them around her neck.

It's unclear when it started, but Chinatown has long since become deserted.

—Boom boom boom

It was the sound of the train gradually approaching.

Passengers eager to board the bus were drawn by the sound and gradually walked towards it.

This wasn't originally a train platform; in fact, it was originally just a particularly wide road outside Chinatown.

But now, the pitch-black rails have silently appeared on the ground, extending into the unseen darkness.

A faint train whistle, seemingly playing from a great distance, came from the darkness, as if the train carrying the hope of life was about to break through the barriers of time and space and appear before everyone.

But Lu Jinzhao knew that what it brought was more than just the hope of returning alive.

She gently touched her eyelids; her eyes still burned intensely, like a warning bell constantly reminding her that danger was not yet gone.

With less than twenty minutes until the train arrived at the station, Lu Jinzhao didn't get too close to the station. It was too open there, with no buildings to block the view and nowhere to hide.

She was still hiding in Chinatown, but very close to the road. If the train arrived, it would only take her about five minutes to run from there to the train.

Lu Jinzhao's original plan was to hide here and observe the situation. If her guess was correct, other passengers would gradually arrive in the vicinity around this time.

She was prepared that the passengers might not be human, but when she actually saw a human figure, she couldn't help but feel a bit of horror.

It was a figure with long hair. Even though Lu Jinzhao's gaze was only looking down, he could still see the figure's long black hair trailing at its feet.

She was certain that none of the people who came had hair that long.

The hair looked like a black cloak, enveloping the person, but upon closer inspection, one would find that the hair was extremely thick. The superficial layers appeared relatively smooth, but many black hairs inside seemed to have a life of their own, burrowing into the person's body like blood-sucking leeches.

Perhaps her internal organs were completely tangled up by these strands of hair, but she was not dead yet. At least, she still retained some semblance of consciousness and was trying to survive by boarding the train. Otherwise, she could not have gotten this far.

However, she probably won't make it onto the train alive.

Lu Jinzhao sighed inwardly, but did not intend to do anything.

In the distance, a second figure seemed to be approaching. If she looked up, she might be able to see it clearly, but Lu Jinzhao simply waited quietly for the other person to slowly enter her field of vision.

That way, you don't have to worry about accidentally seeing something you shouldn't.

The surroundings were quiet. The long-haired woman stood quietly by the roadside. If you ignored her strange hair and the time of day, she would look like an ordinary person waiting for a bus.

Faint footsteps came from the side, accompanied by the gradual approach of a second figure.

The streetlights were still on, but the light was far from bright. The figure in the distance was somewhat blurry, and with the limited field of vision, Lu Jinzhao needed to concentrate hard to see who it was while controlling his gaze so as not to look at anything he shouldn't.

Her attention was highly focused, and her perception of her surroundings became extremely acute at this moment.

"Fawn."

A calm voice, without any prelude, suddenly came from behind her, so close it was almost touching her.

"What are you looking at?" Lu Jinzhao's pupils contracted sharply, the voice like a thunderclap in her mind.

A chill ran down her spine and straight to the top of her head, and her brain went numb for a moment. At that moment, she almost turned around to see who was behind her!
Fortunately, what would have caused an ordinary person to lose control due to stress only lasted for less than a second for Lu Jinzhao. She simply stood there, stunned, without doing anything she shouldn't have.

Never turn your head!

There can't be a person behind her.

Or rather, it's impossible; it can only be humans!

The ghost is scaring her.

Lu Jinzhao abruptly closed her eyes, still filled with lingering fear. Her heart was pounding, her adrenaline was surging, and her hands were even trembling slightly. If she were to run, she might be able to run at her fastest speed ever right now.

But it was too late to run.

The thing that appeared silently behind them, whether human or ghost, had already reached out a hand and grabbed Lu Jinzhao's shoulder as it spoke.

Cold, stiff, and with an irresistible force, it felt like five hard steel bars strapped to her shoulders.

She was caught.

How did that ghostly thing behind her know she was hiding here?

And when did you arrive?
Even at this point, Lu Jinzhao's mind was still racing; she hadn't given up.

She remembered that Jiang Yingzhi had said that real ghosts cannot speak or communicate with people.

At this moment, what's behind her is either an illusion or someone possessed by a ghost.

"Little deer, what are you doing here?"

"Let's go wait for the bus together."

As it spoke, Lu Jinzhao finally heard a faint, almost imperceptible breath, like that of a dying person.

She immediately realized that the person behind her was not a ghost, but someone possessed by a ghost.

A powerful force came from her shoulder, accompanied by intense pain. Lu Jinzhao was certain that the fingers gripping her shoulder had pierced her skin and dug their tips into her flesh.

The biting cold seeped into his body through the hole in his shoulder, and in just two or three seconds, Lu Jinzhao felt half of his body go numb.

Cold sweat dripped down her forehead as she heard the ghostly thing calling her name and telling her to open her eyes.

Opening your eyes at a time like this means you really don't want to live anymore!

But the next second, a faint breath came from in front of her.

It smelled like something out of a rotten stench, carrying a chilling aura.

Lu Jinzhao's eyelids twitched suddenly, and she immediately knew what it was.

Damn!

Besides behind her, there was another ghost standing in front of her!

It's that ghost that followed her from the operating room until now!
