See the Law of Deception

Chapter 175 The House of Evil Spirits

Chapter 175 The House of Evil Spirits (19)

"I can only be caught one more time, then I'll have to move to another apartment."

She didn't want to use the pocket watch too often, and tonight was sure to be incredibly dangerous, so she had to reserve time for it. Her shadow puppet was already nearly half damaged, and even if it wasn't fatally attacked, it would probably break after a few more times.

As for other supernatural items, their effectiveness on the Class A platform is limited, so she can't expect too much.

"Since I can't confront the demons head-on a few more times, I have to head to 302 now."

Leave room for unexpected events that may occur along the way.

Lu Jinzhao ignored Tan Meng, who was slowly chasing after her, and ran towards the third floor with her already somewhat weak legs.

As she passed the second floor, she glanced down into the corridor, which was completely empty.

It seems that her three ghost teammates cannot communicate with each other unless they are together, and the other two ghosts are unaware that she is going to take the stairs back to the third floor.

"So much the better."

Lu Jinzhao's clothes were already soaked with slowly seeping blood, but the backpack's capacity and weight were limited, and it had to be kept to a level that would not affect her movements or add burden. Therefore, she did not bring any extra clothes and could only continue to wear the clothes that were somewhat uncomfortable due to being stained with blood.

The sticky, blood-stained fabric clinging to her skin reminded her of the sticky, nauseating feeling when Tan Meng's skin had touched her earlier.

Whenever I move around, my clothes stick to the unprotected wound and then separate, which always brings an extra wave of pain.

When there are too many wounds on the body, even though Lu Jinzhao is a very tolerant person, he will feel troubled because walking alone will become painful.

She ran quickly to the third floor, but didn't see any ghosts in the hallway. Without further hesitation, Lu Jinzhao rushed into apartment 302 and decisively switched spaces in the apartment.

"It probably won't take them long to find us."

Based on previous experience, although the ghost cannot immediately pinpoint which apartment she is in, it seems that as long as they switch to the same apartment building, the ghost can sense her presence.

The only good news is that the white sheet has been lifted; this isn't a brand new apartment, but one she's been to before.

Even though she didn't know the consequences of switching spaces, Lu Jinzhao instinctively didn't want to go to the new apartment anymore.

She only changed her clothes once, and then, ignoring the dirt on the ground, she sat down near the door and took out bandages from her backpack to wrap her ankles, knees, elbows, and other key areas with bandages.

She didn't have enough bandages to treat these critical areas. After eating something simple to replenish her energy, she collapsed in the pool of blood, panting.

Whenever she hears noises coming from the next room, Lu Jinzhao will switch apartments before Gui opens the door.

This saved her a lot of effort, but the invisible pressure accumulated with each opening and closing of the door, almost solidifying into something so that she felt breathless when she touched the door.

This "pressure" comes from the bottom of her heart, from her subconscious.

Her brain was warning her that things were dangerous if this continued.

"But what can I do?" Lu Jinzhao sighed helplessly.

Without switching apartments, she had to face her three teammates directly. In just one encounter, she had to use a stopwatch to escape.

As for climbing out of the window, that's no longer an option; her finger bones are broken, making it impossible for her to cling to the window frame.

She wasn't giving up, nor did she think this method was convenient or safe; she was genuinely out of options.

After Lu Jinzhao switched apartment spaces for the seventh time, the sun set.

The orange twilight seeped into the room through the newspaper on the window. Lu Jinzhao noticed that it had been almost an hour, and the three teammates had not come to the door.

It's definitely not because they got lost.

"Is it the rules on the blackboard that restrict them?" "Or is it for some other reason?"

If it weren't for the rules, what else in the apartment could restrict them?

As darkness fell, Lu Jinzhao turned on the lights. The already dim light was stained dark red by the large amount of blood in the room. Lu Jinzhao felt that everything, from the room he was in to the smell in his nostrils and the clothes he was wearing, was related to "blood".

It was as if she had been soaked in a world of blood.

As the sun completely set, Lu Jinzhao's nerves tightened once again.

She released the shadow puppet, which stood on the last patch of rooftop not yet stained with blood, but that small area could only last for two minutes at most. No, if the "abnormality" tonight was even more intense, it might not even last two minutes.

However, after the sun had completely set, an anomaly did occur, but it was different from before.

Inside the room, it started to "rain".

A large number of blood-red "raindrops" dripped from the ceiling, and the blood-red water that was originally just a thin film on the ground began to accumulate, just like water accumulating on a rainy day.

Worse still, the raindrops that fell on the three corpses didn't slide off; instead, they were absorbed.

This was an extremely ominous sign, and Lu Jinzhao immediately realized where the danger tonight would come from!

“The previous night, all the unusual occurrences suggested that the danger came from inside the walls.”

"Now, the blood rain from inside the walls is being absorbed by the corpses in the room. Will it become a medium for the ghosts inside the walls?"

And this room stained red with blood.

It took Lu Jinzhao only two seconds to think about these things, and then she immediately made a decision. She rushed to the window and tried to break it, but...
The window of room 302 was unlike that of a toilet; she couldn't break it, not even with a shadow puppet.

There was no time to lose. Lu Jinzhao ignored the window, grabbed the arm of a corpse, and dragged it to the doorway. She was going to throw the body outside.

I don't know if it will work, but at least I'll give it a try.

To Lu Jinzhao's relief, when she tried to grab the corpse and move it, the blood-stained body did not suddenly come back to life or exhibit any other abnormalities.

"Perhaps it's still not too late?"

With that thought in mind, she opened the door to 302, preparing to throw the body out.

There was no resistance when she turned the doorknob; room 302 didn't seem to be against her leaving.

This made Lu Jinzhao feel a little strange. In that instant, she thought about many things. She even wondered if her three teammates would suddenly be standing at the door waiting for her, which was quite a scary thought.

Fortunately, she didn't see her teammates when she opened the door.

But to her dismay, when she opened the door, she saw a patch of bright red blood.

There was no corridor, no opposite room, only a room exactly like 302 and three identical corpses.

It was as if she were standing in the hallway, having opened the door to room 302.

Lu Jinzhao turned around, and behind her was still the familiar 302, because she was holding onto one of the corpses. At this moment, there were only two corpses in the room.

She looked ahead again, and sure enough, it was still 302.

The corridor disappeared, or rather, everything except room 302 disappeared.
