Chapter 31 Out of Control (12)

Wei Ling's face paled slightly, her mind filled with lingering fear.

She dared not imagine what would have happened if Lu Jinzhao hadn't pulled her back and she had rushed out as well.
She did have a supernatural item on her, but that wasn't enough to keep her safe through the long night under the threat of ghosts!
"Isn't the train sending us to this godforsaken place just sending us to our deaths?" Wei Ling couldn't help but curse.

Upon hearing this, Lu Jinzhao gave a somewhat sarcastic smile: "Do you know why I'm so sure this is a relatively safe place?"

She didn't keep him in suspense and gave the answer directly to Wei Ling's puzzled look.

"Because the train dropped us off here from the beginning."

It was placed in the only safe location in the out-of-control canal village.

The train will not send passengers to their deaths directly. No matter how difficult the task, there is always a way to survive. Once the passengers enter the out-of-control Quxiang, it is as if they are locked onto by ghosts, directly triggering the ghosts' taboo. The train will not do that.

A woman's voice quietly sounded behind the two of them.

The two were startled by the sudden sound. When they turned around immediately, they saw a figure that shouldn't be standing there!

"Xu Ruolin?!"

Wei Ling's voice was distorted with fear and surprise. She immediately looked in the direction of Xu Ruolin's body, but there was nothing there anymore.

Lu Jinzhao felt a chill run down her spine as she looked at Xu Ruolin's figure. She knew things were getting worse.

"How are you still alive?" Wei Ling asked.

Xu Ruolin looked quite vulnerable; she appeared to be on the verge of tears, her face was pale, and her body was trembling.

"Everything was fine when we came in, but suddenly some people rushed out like madmen. After a while, a few more ran out. I felt something was wrong, and I tried to call out to you, but you... acted like you couldn't see me!"

"They called my name into thin air and said I was dead!"

Her voice cracked as she said this. "I felt something was wrong here, I wanted to run, but then I heard what you said again."

"So what you're saying is true? What should we do?"

Her tone was filled with despair yet also with a certain expectation, as if she hoped Lu Jinzhao would give her guidance.

Ke Lu Jinzhao simply shook her head: "I don't know either."

The ghost makes a move, and they respond.

As long as they stay inside the ancestral hall, there might still be room for negotiation.

"Calm down, Xu Ruolin!" Wei Ling couldn't help but say.

Lu Jinzhao took two steps back but was not caught. Xu Ruolin fell to the ground and curled up, trembling.

But Lu Jinzhao said nothing.
