See the Law of Deception

Chapter 45 The Long Street Slaughterhouse

Chapter 45 The Long Street Slaughterhouse (6)

There was more than one slaughtering platform; they were hidden behind a dense jungle of flesh and blood. Wei Ling could see the mottled marks on the slaughtering platforms, the cold instruments and equipment, and strange chains that didn't seem to be used to restrain animals.

Just by looking at the four rings fixed on the silver slaughtering table closest to her, Wei Ling had a subconscious premonition that this layout was not for controlling animals; no matter how you looked at it, it perfectly matched the human body shape.

Is this slaughtering platform really designed for slaughtering animals?

While pondering, Wei Ling felt that the place was too dark. Even with the red light, it didn't provide much visibility. Moreover, behind the slaughtering platform, there were densely packed pieces of meat hanging, like heavy curtains.

She wanted to see more clearly; it was too quiet here. She didn't know how to hand the rat she was carrying in her left hand to the butcher, since there wasn't even a trace of him.

Perhaps she missed some details?

Thinking this, Wei Ling took out her phone, turned on the flashlight, and shone it behind the slaughtering station.

The moment the white light dispelled the darkness ahead, a huge black shadow suddenly appeared in her sight.

It stood silently behind several pieces of bright red flesh, facing Wei Ling directly through the slaughtering table.

The red and white lights shone on it, revealing only its enormous figure, its brownish-brown waterproof slaughtering apron, and a pair of rough, large hands that looked as if they had been stitched countless times, along with the slaughtering knife in its hands.

what? !

Instantly, Wei Ling's body stiffened, her pupils contracted sharply, and she instinctively wanted to take a step back, but as soon as she moved, she sensed an extreme danger surging towards her!

The previously silent figure seemed to move slightly in that instant.

Wei Ling immediately stopped moving and froze on the spot.

"what's the situation?!"

Wei Ling's face froze completely. Under the pressure of fear and crisis, her brain worked at supersonic speed. Soon, she realized that it must be the butcher.

When did it get there?

"Was it always there? Just watching me approach it?"

Why isn't there any sound at all?

Was it intentional?

Sweat beaded on Wei Ling's forehead. In just two seconds, the thoughts that popped into her mind had already made her somewhat confused.

"calm."

She was certain that the enormous figure in front of her, almost two meters tall, could not possibly be human.

"I cannot back down."

The moment she made a move to back away, the ghost reacted.

"Yes, I'm here to hand over the rat. If I run away now, I might break this ghost's taboo."

"It's watching me here, but it hasn't killed me. It must be because I haven't broken any taboos. It can't ignore the rules and kill me directly."

Wei Ling kept giving herself positive self-talk, which finally helped to reduce the numbness that caused her to feel all over her body due to fear.

Her palms were sweaty, and the rope holding the mouse felt particularly slippery, but Wei Ling could only hold it tightly to prevent the mouse from escaping.

"Don't leave, we have to give the mouse to it."

This means she needs to get close to the ghost.

The thought of this made Wei Ling's scalp tingle.

She was only looking at the ghost from a distance across the slaughtering platform when she already wanted to back away.

Go near it? Are you crazy?!
But now, she has no other choice.

Wei Ling kept taking deep breaths, not caring that the air she inhaled was filled with the smell of blood.

Only after fully preparing herself mentally did Wei Ling steel herself and tentatively take a step forward.

She took this step extremely slowly, paying close attention to whether the figure in front of her would react to her movements.

".No."

When this step landed, the ghost didn't make a move.

call.
Wei Ling breathed a sigh of relief. "It seems that doing this was the right thing to do."

This success gave her some confidence, and she took another deep breath and tentatively moved forward.

After walking a few more steps, until they were close to the slaughtering platform, the ghost did not make a sound.

It was as if it were just a static statue.

But Wei Ling knew that wasn't the case.

She couldn't see its face; it was too tall, its face hidden behind flesh and darkness, yet it was watching her.

It was waiting for her to make a mistake.

Even as Wei Ling approached the slaughtering platform, she couldn't see any other place besides the platform where animals could be placed.

"So, the rats should be placed on the slaughtering table?"

Thinking this, Wei Ling slowly lifted the rope in her hand, and the rat bound by the rope seemed to sense some kind of intense crisis and struggled frantically.

If you just put it there like that, the mouse will definitely run away.

But she dared not kill the rat carelessly; what if the ghost preferred it alive?
The next second, Wei Ling's gaze fell on the iron chains on the slaughtering table.

Although it wasn't designed for mice, it was more than enough to hold them down and prevent them from escaping.

While looking at the ghost, Wei Ling secured the rat to the slaughtering table.

After all this was done, the ghost didn't make any move.

This undoubtedly relieved Wei Ling once again.

"Success."

She let go of his hand and wiped away the cold sweat that had fallen with the back of her hand.

It was only then that she realized her heart was beating too fast and her muscles were overly tense. It was just a simple movement, but it felt like she had gone through a long run.

"Now, can we go?"

Despite thinking this, Wei Ling hesitated to make a move.

She was still shaken by the scene where the ghost suddenly moved.

After a few minutes of stalemate, Wei Ling could no longer bear it.

Moving forward was impossible; just looking at the ghosts made her feel the pressure was about to overwhelm her.

But she was also afraid to back down.

"Trust Lu Jinzhao." Faced with this predicament, Wei Ling made this decision once again.

She didn't want to stay there anymore; she always felt that the ghost was watching her.

Under such circumstances, she felt that the mental pressure was too great, and if she stayed any longer, she might even lose her rationality.

While she still had time to think, she decided to back down.

Wei Ling tentatively took a step back.

The ghost didn't move.

The chill, as if one were in an ice cellar, was even more intense.

And even if she didn't move, the chill didn't lessen at all; on the contrary, it grew colder and colder as time went by.

"No, I have to hurry." Wei Ling's expression changed.

She didn't know if the bone-chilling cold was just her imagination; all she knew was that as the temperature continued to drop, if she didn't leave soon, she really wouldn't be able to.

Since the first step went smoothly, Wei Ling stopped being cautious and started backing away abruptly. However, she didn't dare turn her back to the ghost and kept looking at it while backing away, not daring to move the light from her phone.

She was afraid that if she wasn't careful, a ghost would come right in front of her.

Such things have happened before.
