The True Lord has arrived
Chapter 6 Reinforcements
Chapter 6 Reinforcements
Butcher Zhao felt uneasy.
In this manor, he was already considered a leader of the demons, so he had his own butcher shop in the demon market of the manor owner's dojo. He welcomed and saw off customers, set rules, and lived a comfortable and prestigious life among these demons.
Today he was drinking with the guests who had already arrived. The table was laden with delicacies and fine wines, but he was absent-minded, his mind only on the person who had been caught.
Heaven have mercy, he has never seen anyone smell so good!
Let alone taking a bite, just smelling it makes you feel two pounds lighter.
However, in this demon market, the hierarchy is very strict. Even if he catches this person, even if he is so hungry that he wants to eat himself, he still has to honestly restrain his desire.
He didn't even dare to lick the blood dripping from that person's body.
He could have held back at first, but for some reason, while he was drinking and eating meat, he suddenly smelled that burst of rich aroma, and that was when he could no longer resist.
Zhao the butcher drank three cups of wine in succession, then hurriedly got up to apologize, making up an excuse.
He rushed to the place where the person was being held, regretting why he hadn't offered the person up from the beginning, causing him to worry now. But he also knew that half of his worry was that offering a gift directly would lead to being scolded for overstepping the bounds and being punished for not knowing the rules.
Secondly, there's a deep sense of reluctance in my heart.
They rushed over, kicked down the door and barged in, but didn't see the little monster.
He was seething with hatred, wishing he could skin that little demon alive and fry him in oil two or three times over. But when he glanced at the cage, he saw the person lying on his side, seemingly asleep. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness, thankfully nothing bad happened."
"This fragrance is truly..."
"vomit!!!"
Butcher Zhao squinted and took a deep breath, but only smelled a fishy stench. He almost vomited up what he had just eaten. Then he caught a glimpse of the dried blood of the hungry ghost, realized something, his expression changed drastically, and he suddenly pulled open the cage and flipped the person over.
At first glance, it wasn't a human at all, but a little demon guarding the gate.
It seemed to have encountered some kind of magic; both of its eyeballs were almost cooked, and one of its eyeballs was pierced by some kind of sharp weapon.
Butcher Zhao murmured, then lost control and screamed, "No!!!"
"My meat!!!"
"waste!"
He almost crushed the little monster's head in one go, then suddenly stood up, turned around and strode out. At that moment, he had no sense of caution towards the lord, no duty to offer gifts, only the purest desire.
A black aura enveloped Zhao the butcher. Sensing the lingering fragrance, he ignored everything else, even the burning house over there.
They were so focused on chasing after that faint, lingering fragrance that they ran wildly.
But the aroma eventually spread into the house and stopped where the fire was raging. Zhao the butcher naturally thought that even the lowest-level monsters and hungry ghosts had strength and speed that surpassed that of ordinary people.
Even if ordinary demons cannot accurately perceive the source of the fragrance, they can at least recognize that it is a person.
That person was most likely captured by those clueless little monsters when he ran away, and then torn apart and eaten.
To think that such delicious human flesh would be disposed of like this.
Zhao the butcher's eyes turned red.
He charged headlong into the fire, yelling furiously, "Damn it, this good meat has to be steamed or boiled! You bunch of ignorant idiots!!!"
"Boss, there's a fire over there."
"Go away!"
He pushed aside the monsters that tried to stop him and charged straight into the fire. Ignoring the pain his hungry ghost body was suffering in the flames, he rushed wildly to the place where the aroma had died down, which was the kitchen. When he saw the meat residue left in the stone mill, his heart broke.
He pounced on it, scooped up the minced meat with both hands, stuffed it into his mouth, and swallowed it down hard.
A muffled groan.
The backlash from the hungry ghost devouring its own kind instantly assaulted his mind, causing his body to convulse immediately, veins bulging and throbbing on his forehead. The intense pain nearly made him kneel on the ground.
He paused for a moment, then burst into wildly joyful laughter:
"Hahaha, it's not his flesh!"
"no!"
"Hahaha, that's great! My lord, you didn't turn into a dish."
"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey!"
He forcefully spat out the flesh of the hungry ghost in his mouth and struggled to get up. The fire in the fire had already started, and once it started, it was almost a pipe dream to extinguish it with the water buckets in the hands of those monsters.
Butcher Zhao could have escaped, but seeing a hungry ghost struggling to survive in the middle of the fire, he disregarded his own safety, ran to the place where the flames were burning the fiercest, reached out, grabbed the monster by the neck, lifted it up, and shouted, "Where is that person?!"
"What?! Who is it?!"
Two loud slaps landed on his face, then he asked:
"Who just went past?!"
The monster, half-burnt to death, pointed in a direction and exclaimed, "Run! They ran away!"
Zhao the butcher threw the monster out to prevent it from being burned to death. He then crossed his arms and ran outside against the raging flames doused with oil, his heart filled with anxiety, worried that Zhou Yan would escape.
For some reason, the fragrance is gone.
What if Zhou Yan escapes and gets captured by other monsters?! What if they don't know how to eat and waste such a precious resource?!
Feeling anxious and restless, yet unsure where to begin his search, like a headless fly, Zhao the Butcher suddenly heard a sharp, inhuman cry: "Someone's there! No—"
"Meat sheep! It's meat sheep!!"
"A sheep is trying to escape!!!"
………………
On the second breath that the man let out his howl.
Zhou Yan had already put them on.
I give you face!
With a swift, horizontal kick, Zhou Yan struck the man in the abdomen, silencing him instantly. Just as Zhou Yan was about to deliver another blow, a loud thud was heard, and the man's vision went black as he collapsed to the ground, motionless.
The petite Li Zhiwei was holding a large wooden stick that she didn't know where it came from.
He looked at Zhou Yan and threw down the wooden stick.
Just about to explain.
Zhou Yan grabbed Li Zhiwei and ran outside, kicking the guy hard as he passed by, then praised him:
"Li Zhiwei, well done!"
Li Zhiwei blinked.
"Hmm."
Suddenly, a cracking sound came from behind, followed by a wave of heat that almost swept over Zhou Yan. He could feel the heat behind him. Zhao the Butcher smashed through the raging fire of the house, laughing loudly as he lunged forward with a strange howl.
"Mr. Lang!!!"
"Got you!!"
At this moment, Zhao the butcher had experienced loss and then found it again. Overjoyed, his obsessive appetite had surpassed all other social classes and statuses. His eyes were red, and he only wanted to eat one bite.
Just one bite!
I've eaten human flesh from thousands of different kinds, so this kind person deserves a bite of mine too.
Before that, the monsters who were busy putting out the fire had already rushed over.
They landed on all fours, climbing and leaping at incredible speed, approaching from above and from the left and right. Zhou Yan only managed five steps before being overtaken. In the previous encounters, he had almost always ambushed them. He never expected that the hungry ghosts would be monsters skilled in speed.
In that instant, the difference in physical abilities between monsters and humans became unmistakable.
Li Zhiwei's heart was pounding.
Then she quickly realized it.
No, it wasn't just her heartbeat.
And there was the sound of a heartbeat coming from the boy's palm.
In a daze, time seemed to stretch out, and sounds and colors seemed to fade.
In this cold, gloomy demon market village with its bluish-white lanterns, a demon pounced, its face ferocious. A young man, not much older than himself, grabbed him and, amidst the flames and the roar of collapsing wooden houses, they ran wildly forward through the narrow road.
Such scenes and experiences are like something out of a storybook.
Perhaps I'll never forget it.
Several hungry ghosts pounced on them, revealing their true forms: fangs.
Zhou Yan clenched his teeth.
Suddenly, the jade talisman lit up.
boom! ! ! !
Golden light descended from the sky in an instant, like the sun shining brightly in all directions. Heavy weapons were wielded, and the monsters that rushed up or got close were instantly turned into mincemeat. Then, they were swept away by a powerful aura.
Even the soil and pebbles underfoot were instantly smoothed out.
The land was flat and level.
There was one more person behind Zhou Yan and Li Zhiwei.
Clad in golden Heavenly King Armor, wielding a long-handled battle sword, with a scarlet cloak billowing, lion fangs protruding from his waist, and jade-colored Bagua symbols hanging down, he exuded a surging aura, resembling a celestial being and intimidating all demons.
The general who descended from the sky had a majestic gaze as he swept over the demons, including Zhou Yan.
Then he looked at Li Zhiwei.
salute.
"Pei Xuanbao, the Thousand Bull Guard."
"I've met the princess."
