Can they really kill them all in Chapter 33?

Can they really kill them all in Chapter 33?

After explaining some basic information, Su Xun invited everyone to ask questions.

"Advisor Su, are the only weaknesses of zombies the head and the heart?"

The first person to ask a question was a man in military uniform, who appeared to be of a high rank.

Su Xun nodded: "That's right. There's a saying among the extraordinary: 'The brain is the source of action, and the heart is the foundation of existence.'"

"These two parts are of great importance to zombies and anything else. They are indispensable. As long as the connection between the two is severed or one of them is destroyed, most monsters will not be able to continue to survive."

“But…we’ve discussed this issue in private, but it’s still hard to understand. Even if these zombies can survive without relying on normal internal organ functions, how can they mobilize their bodies if we break their spines and sever their nerves?”

Su Xun understood the other party's doubts. Ultimately, the military practices killing techniques and is the most violent organization in human history. They are used to viewing the weaknesses of their opponents in a human way.

If a bullet hits a person in the stomach, can they still survive? It's very difficult. They will basically lose the ability to move. Like in the movies, if someone can survive being hit by a lot of bullets and still be jumping around, they have basically left the realm of carbon-based life.

If the bullet had a larger caliber, it could easily have ripped a person in two.

But zombies are fine; they can hardly even be defined as living beings.

“They are spiritual beings,” Su Xun explained.

"It does not rely on nerve transmission of information, nor does it rely on normal food intake to sustain life. In fact, higher-level zombies will gradually abandon the use of normal five senses as a means of observation, and instead use spiritual power to perceive."

"This mindset must be changed. Our opponents are no longer ordinary lives. If we don't take this seriously, we can easily suffer a great loss."

Su Xun's army in his previous life suffered heavy losses due to a lack of prior preparation and overcrowding. Even those who barely survived were wasted a lot of valuable manpower because they did not understand the strength of the zombies and mutated beasts.

While admonishing the other party, Su Xun couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment.

Of course, that's why I was reborn.

Of course, because of my rebirth, none of this will happen again.

Someone else asked a question.

"We can accept that zombies have a tenacious will to live, but why can't armored vehicles quickly wipe them out? No matter how tenacious they are, wouldn't one shot turn them into dust?"

Many of the soldiers present still had furrowed brows, but upon hearing this, they turned to look at the questioner and discovered that he was a young man from a civilian department.

Seeing that the first soldier who asked him a question seemed to have something to say, Su Xun let him speak.

The man nodded and stood up to face the crowd.

What I'm trying to say is, don't be too superstitious about the power of armor.

"The normal combat range of tanks is several hundred to several thousand meters, making it difficult to effectively kill nearby enemies. In similar situations, we rely more on accompanying infantry—that is, combined arms operations."

"You might think that you can use crushing methods, and no matter how strong the zombies are, they can't destroy the tanks. But in reality, all mechanical equipment, especially tanks, have extremely precious motor hours—that is, their uptime. Under harsh working conditions and without proper maintenance, tanks are very easy to damage and cannot undertake the task of eliminating large groups of zombies."

Similar situations are not unheard of in the history of human warfare, and the soldiers present, especially the commanders, are all aware of such situations.

Defeating a single unit and forcing its entire force to surrender is easy, but if the enemy manages to wipe out a vast, scattered army, there's no way to kill them all.

It would take several days to catch 20,000 pigs, let alone a zombie that can crawl towards you even after being blown to pieces by billions of bullets?

Moreover, the survivors actually face far more than billions of zombies. It's not just humans who can turn into zombies; even mosquitoes can. It's just that the pitiful amount of spiritual energy contained in mosquitoes is not as troublesome as their original toxins.

The strength of a zombified individual is generally related to its size, but this excludes individual mutations—those mutated zombies and beasts with their own unique abilities will be much more troublesome.

After the soldier finished speaking, Su Xun added to him: "What this comrade said is very correct, but there is one issue I still need to correct: zombies are not incapable of destroying tanks."

The soldiers present frowned even more deeply, some flipping through their survival manuals, already having guesses in their minds.

"Superpowered individuals—that's what humans call these beings, but humans aren't the only ones born with special abilities."

"Those with superpowers among animals are called mutant beasts, and those with superpowers among zombies are called mutant zombies."

"Once these mutated beasts and zombies gradually reach higher levels, namely the Beast King and the Zombie King, of course, in our local custom, the former would be called the Demon King."

"These high-level, powerful beings can easily destroy armored units; we rely more on the power of superhumans to engage in equal combat."

"Furthermore, setting aside these powerful enemies that will only appear over time, even in the early stages of the apocalypse, zombies and mutated beasts can pose a great threat to armored units—for example, fire-type mutations are quite common among zombies. Are modern main battle tanks immune to Molotov cocktails?"

After these words were spoken, many of the commanders present looked solemn. Of course, that was not possible; even the most advanced tank would be rendered unusable if hit by an incendiary bomb on its cooling grille.

"There are more than just this kind of extraordinary opponent that can pose a danger to the tank. Even ordinary zombies, if they gather in enough numbers and form a large enough zombie horde, will also develop some collective characteristics. The most common situation is that they can infect the crew inside the tank through the tank, causing them to become zombies."

"I will write a separate manual on the relevant information, which will be mainly distributed within the military. Does anyone have any further questions?"

It was the same soldier from before. He asked in a deep voice, "What is the probability of mutations occurring among zombies and animals?"

This question made Su Xun think for a while before he replied, "We haven't done sufficient statistics on animals, but within zombie hordes, they are generally considered to be the same as humans, with a proportion of around one percent."

“We got this data from newborn statistics, but in reality, the proportion is probably higher.” He shook his head and sighed, “These people have a higher chance of surviving and are usually more famous. In the apocalypse, ordinary people don’t always live well.”

This caused a moment of silence in the conference room, before the young office worker asked again, "Since zombies are so powerful, why not use weapons of mass destruction to wipe them all out?"

This question caused everyone present to frown even more deeply. Before anyone else could speak, Su Xun directly refuted him.

"Leaving aside the fact that most weapons of mass destruction are highly systematic and require a strong supply capacity to use, let's talk about the small strongholds, small teams, and even individuals waiting for rescue surrounded by a large horde of zombies."

"If you were this person, would you still ask this question?"
