The last time I wrote a review for a book launch was in 18 for the "Dad's Restaurant" series. Seven years have passed in the blink of an eye.

Times have changed, and food articles have become niche articles.

I am deeply grateful for everyone's support, which has allowed my book, a book with a niche subject matter and writing style, to reach this point. I express my sincere thanks.

After all these years of ups and downs, I've finally come back and started this food book.

When I opened the book, my friend was very surprised, saying that food articles were no longer on the bestseller list, that they were outdated, and that there were hardly any readers reading food articles anymore.

I don't believe in superstitions. I want to add a touch of everyday life, a touch of warmth and healing to my food writing.

Instead of writing about awful relatives and disgusting villains in period dramas, we can focus on everyday family life, mutual help and support, and Zhou Yan's dedication to running his restaurant and building his small business.

It's really hard to write; it takes two or three hours to write a single chapter, and then I have to keep pulling all-nighters...

But when I finish writing certain plots and an interesting fragment pops up, I get very excited and can't help but share the joy of breaking through my own limitations with my wife.

Seeing the comments, I know you also felt this joy.

Words create resonance between authors and readers, which is probably the driving force behind every creator's work—more invigorating than a strong cup of tea at night.

It still has to be you guys.

……

Let's talk about why I wrote about Sichuan and Leshan.

Because Qingyu has been in Sichuan for eight years, married a Sichuan-Chongqing tyrannosaurus (laughs), and now settles down here.

I think the mental state of Sichuan people is very special. They are usually referred to as "godlike" online, but I think it should be a sense of relaxation.

Their attitude towards life makes you feel that living well in the moment is more important than anything else, and the group's optimism makes you feel that life is very comfortable.

The Sichuan dialect, in particular, is full of fun and life wisdom, so I used a lot of Sichuan dialect and proverbs in the book.

As for why I chose Leshan as my starting point, I visited Leshan four times last year. It's rare for a city to make me want to go back again and again just for its food; each time there's a new surprise.

Suji Qiaojiao Beef, Linjiang Eel Slices, Bobo Chicken, Sweet-skinned Duck, Niuhua Skewers, Freshly Braised Beef, Braised Pork Intestines, Malatang (Spicy Hot Pot), Maocai (Sichuan-style Stew), Shaved Ice...

Countless examples exist.

The spiciness in Leshan is gentle, and the various delicacies have distinct characteristics, mainly spicy and fragrant, with many also having a slightly sweet taste, making it easier for my sensitive stomach to handle.

So when I decided to write about food, Leshan was always on my mind, and I finally chose Suji as my starting point.

As for starting with a bankrupt restaurant, it's because Qingyu and her wife did indeed run a small restaurant a couple of years ago, but it eventually went bankrupt and they ran away.

Without the system, he couldn't be Zhou Yan; he was more like Zhou Liangliang and his wife—they immediately closed their shop and slunk away when the pandemic hit. Truly pathetic!

This is my first time writing a historical article. I had a stack of local gazetteers and price records at hand, and I also consulted with my elders.

There will definitely be errors and omissions, so I apologize in advance.

But I'm not a data enthusiast or a stickler for historical accuracy; I'm more concerned with making the story interesting. Please forgive any minor errors or omissions.

Then comes the acknowledgments section:
Thank you to my best readers in the universe!

Thank you to my editor-in-chief, Green Bean, and my editor, Good Luck!
Thank you to my wife, Yuhuo, for helping me correct typos, staying up late to discuss the plot, constantly relieving my anxiety, and taking care of all the housework during this time.

She is also an author. We met through a group of authors who used words together. I came from Zhejiang to find her, and we eventually settled in Sichuan.

Friends, on this 4,000-mile journey, anything is possible.

Why can't Xiao Zhou and Xiao Xia be together?

They are more talented and courageous than us, right?
I hope you also have the courage to face life with a smile!
Don't worry, there are always little joys in life.

If not, please search online.

ummm
I never expected writing a reflection to be so enjoyable; it went over a thousand words in no time, even faster than writing the main text!

Now for the most important part, here's the update preview:
In the one month and seven days since the new book was released, Qingyu has updated 230,000 words!
I'm writing slowly and writing more frequently, which has completely depleted my stockpile of manuscripts. Now I'm going to risk everything.

Tonight at 12:00, I'll update four chapters to reach 10,000+ words!

There will be at least two more updates tomorrow during the day!

Six chapters in total!

I will maintain two updates per day after the book is published, with a minimum of 6 words.

Regarding the rules for extra chapters:

One extra chapter for every 500 monthly votes!
Two extra chapters for the Alliance Leader!
Twenty chapters for the Silver Alliance! (Even if there aren't any, please include them!)

I still owe 6 chapters for this month's monthly tickets, but I'll make up for it when the book is released!

In short:

Dear readers, please give Whisper a shout-out!
After midnight.

Please make your first order!
Asking for a monthly ticket!
Please give me a reward!
Go, little shabby shop!
I want to try my hand at the new book monthly ticket ranking!
 Rush!
