In an instant, a series of images flashed through their minds.

In the ruins of the city, they and their companions fired at the steel behemoth, but their attacks had little effect.

The enemy's heavy machine guns would tear their bodies apart, and artillery would blast their hiding places to smithereens. When nearby cover was completely destroyed and they were forced to flee through the streets, the enemy's convoy would speed in and slaughter them as easily as sweeping away stray dogs.
