Chapter 159 Bottlenecks and Dining
Chapter 159 Bottlenecks and Dining
With the aid of the gravity training room and various resources, Jemin's training progressed exceptionally quickly.
The tempering of the body and the sublimation of the soul go hand in hand, with clear progress every day and a noticeable improvement in oneself.
However, not all roads are so smooth.
Especially in research, Jemin recently discovered that his research on the divine power belief network has been slowing down without him realizing it, and recently he has even fallen into an indescribable bottleneck.
His underground laboratory, once filled with various data models and analytical runes related to the divine power faith network, now seems somewhat stagnant.
That complex energy flow, born from the plane of existence, naturally gathers the power of mortal faith, like a vast starry sea.
Initially, he was able to easily capture the surface tides and currents, but when he tried to delve into its core and explore the underlying logic and laws of its operation, he felt an unfathomable resistance.
Jemin himself knew that if he wanted to grit his teeth and forcefully continue the research on his own, it wouldn't be impossible.
However, he deduced that that would take an enormous amount of time.
He tried various analytical methods and constructed thousands of simulation models, but all of them only scratched the surface.
The Divine Power Faith Network is a magnificent bridge connecting mortals and gods, the most intricate creation deep within the rules of the plane.
It is not merely the transmission of energy, but also involves the soul, beliefs, cause and effect, and laws of higher dimensions.
At his current level as a first-level wizard, attempting to analyze such an existence is akin to a mortal trying to exhaust the mysteries of the universe.
Jemin estimated that if he wanted to fully understand the divine power and belief network of the Erosian plane, given his current efficiency and the information he had, it would probably take several thousand years.
However, these thousands of years have only reached the level of "thorough research." To transform it into our own use, or even to replicate a similar energy circulation system, would take another immeasurable long time.
But faced with this problem, Jemin really didn't have any good solutions.
After all, core knowledge like this is rarely sold, and even if it were, it would probably require high-level military merits as an equivalent, which is far beyond what Jemin could afford.
This was the day that Jemin delivered his monthly share of the Mortal World Potion to his mentor, Clark.
He carried two bottles of magical potions that shimmered with iridescent light and used a teleportation array to arrive at Instructor Clark's office at Norren Academy.
Mentor Clark took the potion, habitually used his mental power to sense its effects, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
But then he noticed that in Jemin's mental fluctuations, there was a hint of anxiety and exhaustion that was hard to hide.
"Jeming, you seem to have something on your mind lately?" Mentor Clark put down the medicine bottle and asked calmly.
Although the mentor's voice was emotionless, it possessed a power that could see into people's hearts.
Jemin didn't hide anything; he told his mentor in detail about the bottlenecks he encountered in his research on the divine power faith network and the astronomical estimate of the time required.
Upon hearing this, Professor Clark merely nodded slightly, his deep eyes showing no surprise whatsoever, as if he had already anticipated it.
He immediately stood up and gestured for Jemin to follow him.
“Follow me.” Instructor Clark said nothing more.
Jemin was slightly taken aback, but still subconsciously followed.
The two then stepped into a miniature teleportation array in the corner of the office.
A soft white light enveloped them, and the sense of spatial distortion vanished in an instant.
When his vision returned, Jemin found himself in a completely different world.
This is not the cold and austere laboratory of the Norren Workshop, but a vibrant and thriving land.
A gentle, warm sun shines overhead, a lush green meadow lies beneath your feet, and a babbling brook flows nearby.
"This is my personal dimension," Clark's mentor's voice rang in my ears. "We are currently in my private residence and research base."
Jemin immediately understood that this was actually the personal laboratory that his mentor Clark had built in his own "Wizard Tower".
He looked around and found that the laboratory they were in was embedded in a giant floating crystal island, surrounded by various elemental runes, with energy flowing like a rainbow, making it look magnificent and mysterious.
“Mentor…” Jemin wanted to ask why he had been brought here.
Clark had already turned and walked ahead: "Come on, I'll treat you to a meal today."
Professor Clark led Jemin out of the laboratory, through a neatly manicured path, and straight toward a magnificent complex of buildings in the center of the floating island.
It was an extremely luxurious mansion.
The main building is a magnificent palace constructed of white marble and golden runic bricks, with an elegant and grand style. The palace's spires soar into the sky, and every brick and tile shimmers with a faint energy glow.
The spacious courtyard is planted with all sorts of strange exotic plants. They are varied in shape and color, and some can even emit a faint light or exude an invigorating fragrance.
A clear lake surrounds the mansion, its surface as calm as a mirror, reflecting the palace's image, while some unidentified amphibians frolic in the water.
The palace gates, consisting of two massive metal doors inlaid with magic crystals, were slowly opening as they sensed Clark and Jemin approaching.
As Jemin entered, he found the interior space to be extremely spacious, with a towering dome in the hall covered with magical murals depicting the movement of stars.
To Jemin's surprise, the servants who greeted guests in the hall and served food in the restaurant were humanoid beings who were clearly not humans from the wizarding world.
They come in various shapes and sizes.
There were "lizardmen" whose entire bodies were covered in scales. They wore exquisite guard uniforms and looked exceptionally elite.
There were "horned" girls with small horns on their heads, pale blue skin, and eyes as bright as jewels. They carried trays and moved lightly and silently.
There were even some petite "flower spirits" with transparent butterfly wings on their backs, who hovered in the air, scattering starlight.
These alien creatures, though different in appearance, all displayed extremely high intelligence and well-trained manners.
“These are my ‘servant’ races,” Mentor Clark explained briefly, noticing Jemin’s confusion.
He gestured to a lizardman waiter who was pulling out chairs for them, speaking calmly:
“I allow the people of these servant races to live in my plane, giving them shelter and a stable living environment. In return, these races will provide combat power when I need them, forming servant armies to assist me in attacking other planes.”
"This is something many high-level wizards do after finding suitable intelligent races in other planes," he continued. "You can also find some oppressed races in other planes in the future, give them shelter, and let them thrive in your plane. When you need power, they will become your most loyal servants."
Jemin nodded thoughtfully.
He was actually quite familiar with this kind of thing, after all, wizards only had a few ways of dealing with natives, and he had heard about related rumors a long time ago.
However, this was indeed the first time he had ever seen a servant race in the true sense.
"Therefore, in theory, every high-level wizard is a complete war system," Clark concluded. "The high-level wizard himself and the dimensional wizard towers he owns serve as the high-end combat force, the androids or bio-beasts they produce serve as the elite backbone, and these auxiliary armies serve as the largest and most basic low-end combat force."
"A high-level wizard can independently attack other planes and even carry out long-term plane colonization with his own power."
Jemin imagined the scene in his mind and couldn't help but feel a little shocked.
After the two were seated, a sumptuous feast began.
The dining table was laden with delicacies from various dimensions.
These foods come in all shapes and sizes, some with bizarre appearances, such as black chunks of meat that seem to jump, or fungi that emit phosphorescence, and even blue fruits that look like eyeballs, but all of them exude an enticing aroma.
Jemin cautiously took a bite, and his eyes lit up. Although these foods had a strange appearance, they tasted exceptionally delicious.
It has a rich flavor and a lingering aftertaste.
More importantly, after special processing, these delicacies offer considerable benefits to the consumer.
With each bite, Jieming could feel a cool energy seeping into his body, nourishing his mental strength and subtly strengthening his physical body.
While eating, he silently noted this down.
These delicacies from another world, while not as immediately effective as magic potions in enhancing strength, offer an additional boost beyond cultivation.
If consumed daily, the cumulative effect will be quite remarkable.
He decided that he could incorporate these otherworldly delicacies into his daily diet as a supplement to his cultivation.
During the meal, Professor Clark inquired in detail about the progress of the research on the Jemin Divine Power Faith Network.
Jemin described in detail his current bottlenecks and the predicament of only being able to access surface-level energy transmission technologies.
When Mentor Clark learned that Jemin had only studied a portion of the energy transmission knowledge at the very surface of the mysterious faith network, he couldn't help but shake his head, a helpless expression on his face.
He didn't say much, but slowly stood up from his chair and walked into the study next door.
A moment later, he came out, holding a small bag that emitted spatial fluctuations, and handed it to Jemin.
“This is a research manuscript I once studied about the divine power belief network,” Mentor Clark said calmly. “Although the divine power belief network I studied is a product of another plane, not Erosia, the laws of all things share the same origin, so it should also be of some inspiration to you.”
