Chapter 208 The Wrath of Frost (Part 1)

A massive rift, seemingly originating from an abyss, slowly opened across the sky!

The once azure sky was now stained with an eerie void by that crack, like a deathly place that swallowed all light!

"The sky... has collapsed?!"

That void rift stretching across the sky, like a wound from the beginning of creation, devours light and hope.

Jemin's brain went blank for a moment, his pupils contracted to the extreme, and the hairs on his body stood on end.

He had seen high-level powers before, but this was a sight so magnificent that it could easily tear apart a plane.

Even witnessing a seventh-tier wizard forcibly tear apart the dimensional barrier during the Elosia dimensional trial was far less shocking and despairing than what I was seeing now!
However, Jemin quickly recovered from his extreme shock.

Because he noticed that a rather familiar "sphere" had appeared in the center of the tearing sky!
That was the very ship dimension he had once been in, a dimension he knew intimately!

"I see." Jemin immediately understood.

It turns out that the commotion in the sky was not a "collapse of the sky," but rather a tremendous "mutual contact and collision" between the Ship Plane and the Frost Plane, under the manipulation of Master Augustine!

This was a thousand times more terrifying than what I had seen in the Erosian plane.

Jemin had witnessed a seventh-tier wizard forcibly tearing apart the sky of a plane, and he thought that was already amazing enough.

But witnessing firsthand the commotion caused by the brutal and direct collision between planes was even more terrifying and unforgettable.

"No wonder Mentor Clark said that some plane wizards surrendered automatically as soon as they invaded. With the scale of this invasion... only a few will actually stand up and resist, right?"

This thought flashed through his mind, and then Jemin immediately realized something else important:

"Wait a minute, doesn't this mean... Master Augustine has returned, maneuvering the ship dimension?"

This fact instantly filled Jemin with many questions.

But the most fatal problem, and the one he thought of first, was...

"Wait! Here's the question: why was Augustine able to return so quickly?!"

Jemin's mind raced.

He recalled the information he had gathered about the Frostfire Plane in the past:

As is well known, due to being constantly illuminated by the "projection of the water elemental plane," the outer perimeter of the Frost Fiery Plane has a remarkably high flow of time.

This distortion of time makes it extremely difficult for wizards in the chaotic void to travel to and from the Frostfire Plane—even if they just leave and then return, several years, or even decades, may have passed inside the Frostfire Plane!

Augustine, however, only took a few months to sail the ship back to the intersection point, summon reinforcements from the main plane, and then return by colliding with the plane...

This is too fast!

From the perspective of the Wizarding World, this is certainly incredibly fast.

But given the high-speed time flow of the Frost Dimension, this is simply impossible!

“Wait… high-speed time flow?” Jemin paused for a moment when he thought of the term.

In an instant, his gaze locked onto the lava giants beside him, who were still rushing towards him but were blocked by the node.

More accurately, it's the energy field that surrounds these lava giants, capable of creating a "time-stopping field"!
Jemin felt that certain facts were becoming clearer, as if layers of fog had been cleared away.

Lava Giants and Yetis, two mortal enemies, set off from the ends of the plane and converged on the center.

The key point is that they all possess an energy field capable of freezing time.

When they converge in this way in an instant, it means that the entire Frostfire Plane is completely enveloped by this strategic-level "time-stopping energy field" at that moment!
Although the wizards were prepared in advance and protected by "time-stabilizing anchors," they were not directly affected by the "time stop" and were able to operate normally.

However, the entire Frostfire Plane itself has indeed been "frozen in time" at this moment!

The time in the Chaotic Void Sea is inherently chaotic, with the flow of time relatively independent between different planes.

While time was paused in the Frost dimension, time did not stop in other dimensions.

In terms of the time standard of the ship plane, it would only take Augustine less than an hour to sail from the Frost plane back to the junction to retrieve troops.

but!

Considering the time span of the Frostfire Plane, this amount of external time often takes at least ten years, or even longer!
However, once the entire Frostfire Plane was completely covered by that strategic-level time-stopping domain, the situation reversed.

No matter how much time has passed in the outside world—that is, in other planes of the Chaotic Void Sea—here, time will only remain frozen at that moment when it was stopped.

Therefore, during the "same time" when time was frozen throughout the entire Frostfire Plane, Master Augustine manipulated the Ship Plane, calmly returning with a large number of reinforcements. Regarding this matter, not only Jemin, but the other wizards also immediately understood after a moment's thought!
But what follows is a deeper level of reflection.

"This...this doesn't mean?!" A level two wizard at the same node as Jemin suddenly widened his eyes, "Augustine...he actually already allied with the monsters of the Frostfire Plane?!"

"Damn it! That old fox!!"

The wizards around immediately realized the truth of the matter.

After all, wizards are not fools; on the contrary, they are very intelligent.

The two sides' perfunctory performance in this battle, and Master Augustine's precise return with the ship dimension and reinforcements.

All of this has practically made it clear to everyone that the two sides have "formed an alliance."

Although the wizards were extremely unhappy about being treated like monkeys, they quickly shifted their attention to a new problem:

Now that Augustine and the monsters have formed an alliance, then... who exactly is their enemy?!
Undoubtedly, given that two mortal enemies could set aside their hatred and even betray their own plane to "cooperate" with the wizard civilization, coupled with their extremely cautious actions...

Clearly, they were facing an enemy far more terrifying and powerful than the wizards!
But so far, the wizards have traversed almost the entire Frostfire Plane, yet there is no trace of any other intelligent life.

This eeriness and the unknown cast a heavy shadow over the hearts of all wizards.

Compared to other wizards, Jemin was thinking about things a little more at this moment.

At this moment, he immediately understood why the lava giants and yetis could not produce "mortal energy".

"This is... the most troublesome situation ever..." Jemin couldn't help but sigh.

Previously, when he discovered that neither of these two monster races could produce mortal energy, Jemin had already considered many possibilities.

After all, the Great Dao Library contains a lot of information on this topic, and with a little reference, one can come up with all sorts of possibilities.

For Jemin, the best-case scenario is that the two races are actually one or two life forms with a "shared consciousness".

Each lava giant or yeti is merely a cell within this enormous life form.

An individual cannot form the concept of "society," and therefore cannot generate the "spirit of the mortal world."

If that's the case, then as long as we find that "original entity," everything will fall into place.

The worst-case scenario is the current situation: the monster hordes in the Frostfire Plane are "owned"!
This can be seen in the other conquered or enslaved races that survived under the rule of wizarding civilizations.

These races, too, were unable to provide Jemin with the essence of the mortal world.

This is because, conceptually speaking, they do not constitute a "society in the true sense," but are in a state of being "domesticated," "colonized," or... "farmed."

Now, the alliance between the wizard Augustine and the two monster races, as well as the monsters' unusual behavior, clearly indicate that behind the two monster groups, there exists an even more powerful "ruler"!
Therefore, Jemin was one step ahead of the wizards around him in understanding things.

But this only deepened his worries.

Because the existence capable of enslaving two such powerful and numerous monster races, whether it is a civilization or an independent entity, must be incredibly strong.

At the same time, Jemin was also very curious about where that mysterious enemy was hiding.
So many wizards had searched almost the entire Frostfire Plane, but found no trace of any other civilization or its ruler!

This is the most chilling part!
However, it was no longer Jemin's turn to continue thinking about it.

buzzing...

Suddenly, a unified command rang out from the communication devices of the magic network terminal and various nodes, the voices carrying an unprecedented solemnity and seriousness:

"Everyone! Camp front! Prepare for impact!!"

Although this order came very abruptly.

But all the wizards did not hesitate.

They were already a battle-hardened unit, capable of understanding the commander's intentions.

Moreover, since Augustine has already revealed his cooperation with the two monster groups, this order is not something that cannot be obeyed.

Almost simultaneously, all nodes instantly contracted the energy that was originally scattered around them.

Immediately afterwards, an incredibly thick energy shield was deployed in the direction facing the camp!

Layers of runic light curtains overlapped, forming an elemental steel wall!
Those wizards who did not manipulate nodes also restrained their offensive power and deployed their strongest defensive measures.

Magic shields, force field barriers, space distortions... colorful protective spells lit up instantly.
