Chapter 253 Purchase and Lease

Jemin spotted a group of very familiar creatures!
Its body is segmented like a spider, and its abdomen and tail suddenly elongate behind it, as flexible as a snake.

Apart from the fact that their two aggressive limbs at the front of their bodies are a little smaller, and that their black carapaces are covered with fine hairs, they are otherwise different.

The overall appearance of these creatures is exactly the same as the "spider-snake monster" that Jemin caught in the wild before, which could use spatial abilities!

Most importantly, the number of spiders caught by this wizard at this stall was enormous!

Besides the few live specimens displayed in front of his booth, there were at least several hundred of these creatures kept in several huge metal cages behind him.

"What is this?" Jemin forced down his surprise and asked the stall owner, pointing to the creature in the cage.

He made no attempt to hide his interest in the creature; after all, wizards weren't fools, and there must be a reason for their sudden inquiry.

The wizard looked rather disheveled.

He glanced at Jemin, then immediately put on a warm smile and began to introduce information about these creatures:
“This wizard has a good eye! This is a little creature that I’ll temporarily name ‘Sonic Spider Snake.’ They are creatures that live at the bottom of the food chain in the clouds. Their most distinctive feature is that they live in groups and can use ‘sonic’ abilities.”

"If an entire race launches an attack together, the combined sonic waves are quite powerful, even capable of affecting the mind of a level two wizard. But their physical strength is too weak, not even as good as a level one wizard apprentice, making them easy to capture."

"As for the other specific details of these creatures, I haven't had time to study them in detail because the capture time was too short..."

As Jemin listened to his introduction, he calmly picked up a "spider-like monster" that was chained to the front of the stall as a live specimen and fiddled with it for a moment.

After a careful examination with his "All-Seeing Eye," Jemin was fairly certain that this thing was of the same species as the powerful "Spider-Snake Monster" that he had captured.

However, the spider-snake monster he caught was probably a one-in-a-million "mutant".

"However, I really didn't expect that this creature, which looks so weak and could almost be called 'harmless,' would become so incredibly strong after mutating. It could even threaten me!" Jemin thought to himself.

However, this also reflects the terrifying and powerful nature of the ability to "space".

Considering that he would be conducting a comprehensive study of the mutated spider-snake monster later, having a large number of ordinary individuals of the same species as reference points became particularly important.

Moreover, if raised properly, they might even be able to breed more mutants.

Having made his decision, Jemin asked about the price.

After a heated negotiation, Jemin finally bought all the "spider-like monsters" on the wizard's stall, along with his entire stock of over ten thousand, for five thousand military merits.

The wizard was beaming with joy after the transaction was completed.

After all, there aren't many wizards willing to buy low-level creatures like these, which have neither strong combat power nor special resource production.

To express his gratitude, he even gave Jemin a few cages with basic sealing abilities as an extra gift.

Jemin also felt he had gotten a good deal.

Therefore, this transaction can be considered a win-win situation for both parties.

However, he soon encountered a new problem.

"Where should we put all these things..." Looking at the endless stream of cages being brought in, Jemin pinched the bridge of his nose with a headache.

In his excitement, he bought them all, but it wasn't until he actually got them that Jemin realized that the number of these ten thousand-plus spider monsters was simply too many.

Even when placed in a cage, it still took up a huge amount of space. His internal space simply couldn't hold this enormous quantity of "cargo".

The wizard seemed to sense Jemin's predicament and kindly told him:
"If you have any trouble with storage, you can rent a large warehouse specifically for raising animals at the camp's affairs center. However, the rental fee for such a warehouse is not cheap."

"If the rental period is too long, the cost might be more expensive than the loot itself. In that case, it would be more cost-effective to sell the loot directly to the camp."

"I see, thank you for letting me know." Jemin expressed his gratitude.

Immediately, Jemin activated his alchemy, lifting all the hundreds of heavy iron cages on the ground and suspending them behind him.

Then, carrying this pile of iron cages, they marched "mightily" towards the "business center".

Fortunately, in this camp full of powerful figures and monsters, there were quite a few wizards around him with greater influence than him.

It's not uncommon for someone like him to return with a large amount of spoils, so it doesn't attract much attention.

Jemin quickly found the alchemical doll at the front desk of the "Action Center".

"I'm here to rent a warehouse."

"Okay, please select the type of warehouse you wish to rent."

After a little selection, Jemin directly rented a "high-end warehouse" that could theoretically house millions of small and medium-sized creatures.

Follow the puppet through the camp and into the inner area deep within the camp.

After opening a seemingly ordinary and inconspicuous door, Jemin got a clear look at what his rented warehouse looked like.

Behind the door was not the room I had expected, but a spacious and independent breeding space full of life!

It is equipped with all kinds of environmental simulation facilities.

Temperature control system, nutrition supply system, energy circulation system... can be used to raise organisms of various sizes and meet various special living needs.

Looking at this enormous space, which could almost be described as a "man-made ecosystem," Jemin couldn't help but be amazed:
"The camp has actually mastered the spatial rules of this area in just one month? Their technical capabilities are terrifying."

As for why Jemin thought it was just a spatial rule "nearby", it's because of the inherent characteristics of this "spatial plane".

Such a vast plane, rich in wind elements, lacks a unified "gravity source" as its core. The subtle spatial rules in different regions are likely to have various differences.

Place all these chattering "spider-snake monsters" here, then activate the built-in magic circle inside the warehouse, along with the alchemical puppets specifically for raising them.

Jemin then allocated a portion of his military merits to supplement his diet with a large amount of high-concentration, high-energy nutrient feed.

Only then were these "spider-like monsters," which were crucial to his future research, properly placed.

After doing all this, Jemin couldn't help but glance at the amount of military merit on his terminal: "Renting this warehouse for ten years cost 100,000 military merit. That's more expensive than buying this bunch of spider monsters themselves!"

"However... considering that mutated spider snake can only use spatial power, these initial expenses are worthwhile."

Jemin circled the square a few more times, but unfortunately he still couldn't find the magical artifact he needed.

As the agreed meeting time with Jack drew near, Jemin stopped lingering and headed towards the meeting place.
