Chapter 18 Otherwise, does Boss Yun want to come to my house again?
His tall, slender figure blocked the bright moonlight from the window, casting a shadow on the ground that enveloped the person in front of him.

One large and one small overlap and intersect.

"Let me look again."

A four-word catchphrase: Since we're already here.

Not wanting to make a wasted trip, Su Ruoyun turned around and turned on her phone's flashlight.

While she was looking for the cat, Huo Jingcheng went to the kitchen, took a gray glass from the cupboard, and then took a bottle of purified water from the refrigerator next to it.

After filling the cup with water, he walked out of the kitchen and noticed that the girl's search for the cat had stopped.

It was nearly midnight, and only one light was on in the living room of the villa. In addition, the space on the first floor was too large, so Su Ruoyun couldn't search properly. Realizing this, she took a flashlight, wandered around casually, and then gave up.

She silently followed Huo Jingcheng back into the living room.

The glass was placed in front of Su Ruojun.

As she took a sip of water from the glass with both hands, she caught a glimpse of the man lighting a cigarette.

He held the cigarette filter between his slender fingers with his left hand and then put it to his lips.

He held the lighter in a large, well-defined hand. The black metal lighter gleamed. He flipped it open with one hand, and with a "clink," his thumb brushed against the flint wheel, and a blue-purple flame quickly appeared.

The white cigarette paper crackled and burned, and blue-purple flames slowly climbed up the paper, revealing a scarlet section. The smell of nicotine filled the living room.

Huo Jingcheng slowly exhaled a puff of smoke, the bluish-white smoke forming a halo of light.

The lighter was then tossed onto the glass coffee table, making a crisp sound.

Su Ruoyun swallowed the water slowly, thinking that since the cat hadn't been found, she couldn't stay in a strange man's house all night.

So she bent down to put the glass back on the coffee table, and as she was about to say goodbye, she suddenly heard a "meow~".

Su Ruoyun had keen hearing. The faint meow reached her ears, and she looked up in the direction of the sound. She saw a chubby little white cat standing on the railing where Huo Jingcheng had just leaned. The cat stood on its four short legs, like walking a tightrope, and lowered its head, meowing again.

Worry overwhelmed her joy; fearing the cat might fall, Su Ruoyun quickly got up.

As she stood up, the hem of her skirt accidentally got tangled in the gap of the coffee table. Su Ruoyun was completely unaware that her steps were being hindered, as the silk fabric stretched taut and pulled her back forcefully.

She staggered and was about to fall forward. Her right hand braced itself on the sofa armrest, but the soft down couldn't support it and sank in slightly. Suddenly, a heavy weight appeared on her shoulder.

"Be careful."

His voice, tainted by cigarette smoke, sounded even more low and hoarse.

Su Ruoyun breathed a sigh of relief. When she turned her head, she saw a left hand holding a cigarette on her shoulder. The owner of the large hand had already helped her steady herself.

Women tend to have smaller bones, and Huo Jingcheng's palm easily enveloped her entire shoulder, his warm palm directly touching her exposed skin, the warmth continuously transferring to Su Ruoyun.

She said thank you, "Thank you, Mr. Huo."

"You're welcome."

When Su Ruoyun looked up at the second floor again, the 'panda' was waddling down the stairs on all four legs.

She stopped worrying and glanced at the hem of her skirt, noticing that it had gotten tangled in the legs of the glass coffee table, binding her two straight and slender legs and causing a slight red mark on her fair skin.

Because of the angle of the tangled fabric, Su Ruoyun couldn't turn around. She could only try to untangle it in this direction, crouching down and reaching back along the hem of her skirt to carefully find a way out. As she touched it, she felt an unusual texture—soft yet somewhat hard.

Su Ruoyun frowned subconsciously, afraid that the glass coffee table might turn into a monster. She touched it a couple more times, when a male voice suddenly rang in her ears, startling her.

"Boss Yun."

The man's voice was calm and steady, "You touched my hand."

Upon hearing this, Su Ruoyun immediately turned her head to look, but since she couldn't turn around, she could only see Huo Jingcheng behind her, a fleeting image in her eyes. She said "Oh," and "Sorry, I didn't see him."

She said, "Why does it feel so strange?"

Since someone was helping her, Su Ruoyun simply withdrew her right hand.

Huo Jingcheng lowered his eyes and helped her untangle the messy silk. The irregular ruffled hem of the skirt was complicated and difficult to untangle in a short time, requiring some effort.

Su Ruoyun tilted her head slightly, bored but boldly glancing at the man behind her. She raised her eyebrows slightly and looked him over with a smug look. Huo Jingcheng was focused on the hem of her dress and didn't notice her turning around.

Because of the close proximity, she could clearly see Huo Jingcheng's angular face, his three-dimensional features, high brow bones, and a pair of deep eyes beneath long eyelashes, exuding an untouchable nobility, his thin lips slightly pursed...

After staring at him for three to five seconds, Su Ruoyun suddenly looked away, realizing that she was about to collapse and her thighs were already trembling slightly.

Unfortunately, a kitten was acting up at her feet, rubbing its head against her ankle intermittently, causing an inexplicable itch.

"Is it ready to be untied?"

The man replied with two crisp words: "Soon."

Su Ruoyun looked back again, her gaze lingering on the man's dry, slender fingers. He had already stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray. Now, both his hands were resting on the edge of the coffee table. His palms were very large, his fingers were long and slender, his knuckles were distinct, and the veins on the back of his lean hands were clearly visible, revealing a vigorous strength.

Huo Jingcheng wasn't lying to her; it was indeed almost time. Just before she was about to collapse onto the leather sofa, the silk was pulled away from the side of the coffee table.

Even though she didn't fall onto the sofa in a disheveled or awkward manner, Su Ruoyun still inevitably knelt down and pressed her knees against the edge of the sofa.

After the soreness subsided, she propped herself up with her hands, picked up the glass on the coffee table, and drank the purified water in one gulp, which relieved her dry mouth.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Huo. Now that the cat has been found, I won't bother you any longer."

The panda cooperated and meowed, "Meow~"

Su Ruoyun bent down and hugged the kitten into her arms. 'Panda' found a comfortable position in her arms and looked up at Huo Jingcheng.

As she walked out of the villa, she said, "Please wait a moment."

She had only taken a few steps when something suddenly came to mind, and Su Ruoyun turned back. "By the way, your suit has been washed. I wonder if you have some free time?"

The man hesitated for only three seconds before replying, "Tomorrow."

"Tomorrow," she repeated silently, then asked uncertainly about the location: "The teahouse?"

"Otherwise, does Boss Yun want to come to my house again?"

???

Did she mean that?

Please read on, my darlings! Mua~
