Chapter 49 Anmin, I cherish you

Liang Yi paused for a moment. In the darkness, An Min seemed to be able to hear the slight cracking sound of his knuckles as he clenched his fist.

“I want you to look at me clearly, not like this... surrender yourself in this chaotic emotional state.”

His voice carried an almost obsessive persistence, as well as a deep and restrained longing.

Everyone has impulses, but Liang Yi didn't want An Min to regret it later.

He hoped this decision was one that Anmin had carefully considered.

"I'm waiting for you, waiting for you to see your own heart clearly, waiting for you... to come to me wholeheartedly."

Liang Yi's words were like a bucket of ice water, unexpectedly poured onto An Min's burning heart.

In the darkness, Anmin remained silent for a moment.

He interpreted her irresistible urge to get closer in this way...

She didn't act on impulse!
Her closeness to him was mixed with a flutter of excitement that even she herself didn't understand.

It's a natural reaction when, after surviving a catastrophe, the heart finds the only harbor it wants to dock in.

She subconsciously bit her lower lip, tasting a metallic, sweet flavor.

In the darkness, Anmin felt her cheeks burning intensely; the sensation from the kiss was still lingering.

“Liang Yi…”

"I have never regretted the decisions I have made."

Anmin did not wait for his answer, nor did she need to.

She abruptly turned around, no longer facing his direction, and her voice came in a muffled tone: "Turn on the light. Or, I'll turn it on myself."

She groped her way toward the wall, her movements stiff and deliberately distant.

However, her wrist was suddenly gripped by a large, hot, and powerful hand.

Liang Yi's palms were incredibly warm, pressing against her skin like a branding iron.

The force was so strong that she couldn't break free, yet it carried a cautious restraint, as if afraid of crushing her.

"Anmin!"

Liang Yi's voice was deeper than before, carrying a hint of suppressed urgency: "Look at me."

This time, he didn't give her a chance to escape.

He applied slight pressure with his hands, gently turning her stiff body back to face him.

Although she was still in darkness, the oppressive gazes made it impossible for her to hide.

“I never said that your decision was too hasty.”

He denied it categorically, his voice low and powerful.

“I know your pride and your ambition better than anyone else. That’s why I can’t…”

He paused, as if searching for the most accurate wording, "...We can't take advantage of someone's misfortune, we can't let you make a decision you might regret later when you're emotionally charged."

"Anmin, I cherish you."

He spoke the last four words with great emphasis, as if it were a vow.

"It is precisely because we cherish it that we must wait."

"When you are single-minded, when you... only have me in your heart."

His voice deepened, taking on a captivating magnetism.

"What I want is all your love, Anmin, without any ulterior motives."

Anmin's heartbeat became erratic again.

The burning heat from where he held her wrist spread all the way up, almost scorching her reason.

His words, laced with possessiveness, struck her like an electric shock.

The shame and anger had not completely faded, but a strange thrill was quietly growing within him.

Liang Yi was respecting and treasuring her, which is why he said those words.

For him, the benefits of this kind of thing are definitely greater.

But he was willing to wait for her.

This conflicting feeling made her panic.

Anmin opened her mouth, wanting to refute or break free, but found her throat dry and unable to utter a complete syllable.

In the darkness of the night, she felt his presence drawing near. His unique, reassuringly cool and masculine scent enveloped her completely.

"Don't hide."

His voice was close enough that his warm breath brushed against her forehead: "Don't rush to give me an answer."

Liang Yi slowly raised his other hand, tentatively, but ultimately did not touch her cheek.

Instead, he gently, with utmost care, supported the back of her neck.

It was a posture that exuded both a desire for control and extreme tenderness.

"We...have a long road ahead of us."

His thumb, calloused, slowly and almost reverently stroked the delicate skin on the back of her neck.

That subtle friction instantly ignited every nerve ending in her body.

Anmin's body froze completely, all her senses focused on the small patch of skin that his fingertips were rubbing.

The sound of blood rushing through my ears was deafening, and my cheeks felt so hot they felt like they were melting.

She couldn't see him, but she could feel the burning intensity of his gaze, the aggressiveness of his breath, and the slow, heart-pounding patience burning in his fingertips with unmistakable intensity.

“Liang Yi…”

She called his name almost in a whisper, with a tremor she herself didn't even realize, and... an invitation.

She felt his hand supporting the back of her neck tighten slightly, and the distance between them closed again silently.

His breath brushed against the tip of her nose, carrying a burning temperature.

Then he stopped.

There were no further kisses, no deeper embraces.

He simply maintained this extremely close distance, allowing her to clearly feel his presence, his desire, and his powerful, suffocating restraint.

Time seemed to freeze at this moment.

Only their disordered breathing and deafening heartbeats intertwined.

Anmin felt as if she were nailed to the spot, unable to move.

All the strength was drained away, leaving only the heart pounding wildly in the chest cavity.

There was also a continuous, tingling sensation at the back of the neck that made my whole body feel weak.

He seemed to be telling her in this way that he was waiting, that he had plenty of patience. But she had nowhere to escape.

Anmin closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling helplessly in the darkness, like the wings of a startled butterfly.

Finally, the tense body moved a little closer to him.

This small gesture, however small, was like a victory horn in Liang Yi's heart.

He sighed contentedly, his voice magnetic, which drifted past An Min's ear, making her heart flutter again.

"Liang Yi, I might be a problem for you."

An Min tugged at Liang Yi's sleeve and said this.

Liang Yi chuckled and bent down slightly to pick her up.

"When have I ever been afraid of these things?"

"To be honest, when I first saw you, I was somewhat attracted to you."

He made no attempt to hide his boldness in saying these things.

Anmin was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen; she was elegant, intellectual, and had a touch of pride.

It was this spirit in An Min that Liang Yi particularly liked.

Just like what Director Yang told him privately before, he would never regret marrying An Min in the future.

"then you?"

An Min frowned slightly as she listened to his words. How come she remembered how Liang Yi had been so disgusted with her when they first met?
"Cough cough."

Liang Yi blushed slightly, too embarrassed to tell An Min that he was putting on airs.

Unexpectedly, I ended up tripping up.

But he's overjoyed now and happy to suffer a setback.

It's so delicious! (Liang Yi, hahaha)
