Chapter 17 Wedding Vows
The sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly.

On the boundless sea, dozens of enormous killer whales surfaced, their streamlined bodies tumbling and leaping in the water. Their black and white skin shimmered with an oily sheen, their black tail fins powerfully slapping the surface of the water, and their long, penetrating "roars" emanating from their pointed mouths.

The wise sea monsters heard this sound and left the area early, fearing that they would disturb these big creatures and be targeted, or used to entertain them.

Interspersed among them were some orcs who had transformed into human form. They stood in a circle in the middle, wearing animal skins that had been transformed from their original hides. They had black hair, white skin, and beaming smiles with eager eyes.

It was like a huge carnival.

In the very center of the beastmen's group were Chao Sheng, Bai Ni, and Yin Xu, all in human form.

Today, Bai Ni neatly tucked his damp, tousled hair behind his ears. His white-trimmed black clothes clung tightly to his defined abs. With his broad shoulders, long legs, and fierce, arrogant features, he now wore a look of tension and seriousness.

Yinxu stood on the other side. He was very different from the white-skinned, black-haired orcs around him. His skin was extremely dark, yet his features were extremely delicate and handsome. His dark brown eyes were indifferent and aloof, and a slight smile appeared on his thin lips.

The ceremony officially began when a dozen or so killer whales simultaneously spouted six-meter-high columns of water from above their heads.

Bai Ni nervously rubbed his hands together, his dark, round eyes fixed on the beautiful female beside him. The little mermaid was dressed very beautifully today. Seeing that Bai Ni's expression was off, Chao Sheng's expectant heart sank to the bottom. She wanted to ask him more questions, but now was not a good time to ask. She could only look at him with a conflicted expression, wondering if there was a problem with the wedding vows.
Seeing this, Bai Ni felt a pang of heartache in his eyes, but the shock he had just experienced was too great. He almost wanted to take off his clothes right now to look at his chest, as if a venomous worm had taken up residence in his heart and was writhing and causing havoc.

“Bai Ni…” Chao Sheng spoke softly, her brows and eyes drooping sadly. How could this be?

The complete union of the beastman world naturally involves mating. Chao Sheng looked at Bai Ni with a complex expression, feeling that unfamiliar power, and sighed inwardly, "Truly amazing."

Even though its owner was still sulking for no apparent reason, it kept sticking to her body, as if marking its territory.

The atmosphere between Chao Sheng and Bai Ni was very strange, not at all like a newlywed couple. They both had their heads down with preoccupations on their faces, and it was unclear what they were thinking.

Bai Pei gave them several signals, but they ignored her. She had no choice but to step in and take charge, urging, "Yin Xu, it's your turn."

"Okay." Yinxu looked at Chaosheng beside her, her gentle, deep eyes filled with tenderness, "Shengsheng?"

Her dazed gaze snapped back to reality, and Chao Sheng looked up, her eyes still unfocused, but a slight smile finally appeared at the corners of her downturned lips. "Yes."

"It's our turn."

“I am willing to serve Chao Sheng as my wife, to protect and love her for the rest of my life, to share my supernatural abilities with her, and to share my lifespan.”

As soon as he finished speaking, two more beams of light shone on Chao Sheng and Yin Xu.

Chao Sheng felt another surge of power flowing down from the top of her head. A tingling, itchy sensation made her shudder involuntarily, her fingertips trembling slightly. A small vine passed through the back of her neck and affectionately brushed against her cheek, soothing her uneasy heart.

Silver Floss's deep brown pupils contracted, his body trembled slightly, and he pressed his hand to his chest in disbelief. He could feel a strange power surging and taking root there.

An utterly unfamiliar power swirled within his chest. Was this a superpower? Or not?!

Even though it was his first time taking a marriage vow, he knew that according to the normal procedure, male beastmen would not change or feel anything. It felt as if... as if they were the females sharing the mate's ability.

Despite the turmoil raging within her, Yin Xu composed herself, considering the presence of so many sea beasts. A gentle smile curved her lips as she softly declared, "Sheng Sheng, from now on, I will be your beast husband."

"Ah, yes!" Chao Sheng forced a smile, but her expression was absent-minded.

From Yin Xu and Bai Ni's reactions, she vaguely guessed something.

It seems she can no longer hide some things.

She was powerless to weave one lie after another to deceive them, but should she be honest with them?
Will they also see her as an outsider?

Chao Sheng closed her eyes sadly. Bai Ni and Yin Xu were the closest and most trusted people to her in this world, and she didn't want to go down that path with them.
