Which female should Chapter 32 be given to?
Wen Li's voice was neither loud nor soft, and it was devoid of emotion, yet it clearly reached Xin Yuan's ears.

The people of Xinyuan were completely bewildered when they were suddenly told to "get lost".

He stood there with a frown, his amber eyes dimming, his expression a mixture of grievance and confusion.

Did he make Wen Li angry?
Xin Yuan gripped the bamboo basket tightly in his hand; it was full of gifts he had given to Wen Li as a token of his gratitude.

Carefully selected Tian Guo (a type of herb), the finest insect-repelling herbs, and fruits picked along the way that can be eaten directly.

He had thought Wen Li would be very happy, but to his surprise, the other party refused to see him.

Xin Yuan pursed his lips, and called out again, unwilling to give up, "Wen Li, it's me, Xin Yuan. I've come to bring you something."

The cave remained silent for a moment.

"I don't want to see you," Wen Li's clear voice came again.

An unprecedented feeling coursed through Xin Yuan's body, and he felt a tightness in his chest.

Very uncomfortable.

"Did I do something to upset you?" Xin Yuan couldn't help but ask.

The cave was quiet, and no one answered.

Xin Yuan waited for a while, but still didn't get an explanation from Wen Li.

Wen Li didn't know how to explain her inexplicable behavior.

She didn't want to admit that she was upset because she saw him giving An Yuan a gift.

Silence is the best answer.

"I already told you not to go now." Zhu Yan couldn't stand it anymore and pulled Xin Yuan back.

Xin Yuan was still puzzled, and his gaze kept drifting towards Wen Li's cave entrance.

"Brother, what's wrong with her?" Xin Yuan asked, puzzled.

Zhu Yan shook his head. "I don't know. That's just how females are. They always have a few days when they're in a bad mood."

Xin Yuan sat down in front of Zhu Yan. "Did I do something to upset her?"

"Possibly." Zhu Yan was too lazy to think about these things. "She should recover in a few days. Let her be alone for a while."

Zhu Yan got up and walked towards the well. "Oh, right, she brought fish with her when she came back."

Xin Yuan followed and also saw the dead fish that had been thrown near the well.

“These are fish from the riverbank,” Xin Yuan murmured softly.

An unease swept through his mind.

Could it be that Wen Li just went to the river?

What could she have seen?

Xin Yuan was unsure whether he should tell Wen Li what had just happened.

Zhu Yan patted him on the shoulder at this moment, "Stop spacing out, hurry up and finish dealing with it, or the fish will rot."

"Oh." Xin Yuan's thoughts were interrupted.

The two began to process the fat fish in front of them.

After removing all the internal organs and scraping off the scales, place the processed fish in a wooden basin filled with clean water.

There weren't many fish, so it didn't take too much time.

As was Xin Yuan's usual practice, he would directly marinate the fish and dry it into dried fish.

However, not knowing what Wen Li was going to do, they could only leave it as it was for the time being.

After Zhu Yan finished processing the fish, he said to Xin Yuan, "I'm going to deliver some game to Yan Ci. I'll be back in a bit."

Xin Yuan nodded.

The two had a very fruitful day, and on their way back they agreed to share some with Bai Yanci.

Zhu Yan picked out a few fat chickens and rabbits and went to Bai Yanci's house.

Bai Yanci's home was not far from Zhu Yan's home; it was only a short walk away.

When Zhu Yan arrived, Bai Yanci was making dinner for himself.

He's always been easygoing and doesn't eat at fixed times; he eats whenever he feels hungry.

"Why are you here?" Bai Yanci stood up when he saw Zhu Yan.

"Here, I brought you some things." Zhu Yan held up a pheasant and a rabbit in his hand. Bai Yanci raised an eyebrow, surprised, "So many?"

Zhu Yan chuckled, "Xin Yuan and I went to the back mountain today, and we were quite lucky."

"Thanks."

Bai Yanci didn't stand on ceremony with Zhu Yan, took the prey he offered, and placed it aside.

Zhu Yan's gaze fell on his steaming stone pot. "What are you cooking?"

Bai Yanci was a meticulous person who almost never ate raw food; he always cooked it thoroughly, either roasted or boiled.

This habit is similar to Wen Li's.

Unlike Xin Yuan, he wasn't picky about food and didn't have any particular obsession with it; he just thought that as long as it was edible, it was fine.

So even if the cooked food doesn't taste very good, he can still eat it and he's not afraid of the hassle.

"Just cook something simple," Bai Yanci said, lifting the lid.

Several chickens were stewing inside, with a few green vegetables floating on the bland broth.

Zhu Yan immediately lost his appetite upon seeing the dishes. He remembered the dishes Wen Li had made, which looked both beautiful and delicious.

What Bai Yanci did was far inferior to what Wen Li did.

Bai Yanci noticed Xin Yuan's expression but didn't pay too much attention to it. He said softly, "I won't keep you here to eat. Anyway, you don't like cooked food."

Before Wen Li moved in, Zhu Yan would eat raw meat directly.

He looked down on cooked meat, finding it both unpalatable and troublesome, a trait he shared with Xin Yuan.

“Hmm, I won’t eat,” Zhu Yan said.

The chicken was cooked, and Bai Yanci scooped them out one by one. After he finished doing all this, he found Zhu Yan standing there watching him.

"Aren't you leaving yet?" Bai Yanci raised an eyebrow slightly. "Is there something you need?"

Usually when Zhu Yan comes to deliver something, he either leaves immediately if he loses it, or he gets straight to the point if he has something to say. This is the first time I've seen him so hesitant and indecisive.

Something's strange, Bai Yanci thought to himself.

Zhu Yan looked up at the sky, scratched his short hair, and said casually, "There is something."

"Then just say it," Bai Yanci said.

Zhu Yan hesitated for a while before finally saying, "Where did you find that... cough... that fragrant flower you mentioned before?"

Bai Yanci: "Oh, you mean that? I grew some myself. Do you want some?"

"Uh... um! Give me some." Zhu Yan clenched his fist awkwardly.

"Okay." Bai Yanci agreed readily and turned to enter his cave.

Bai Yanci's cave contained many things, yet it did not appear cluttered; everything was arranged neatly.

Beside a small hole, several orange-yellow flowers grew, small in size, yet emitting a rich and delicate fragrance.

Bai Yanci picked a few blossoms, took them out of the cave, and handed them to Zhu Yan.

"This is all I can give you," Bai Yanci said.

This was the first time Zhu Yan had seen the flower Bai Yanci was talking about. It was only the size of his thumb, but it had a wonderfully fragrant aroma.

"Thank you." Zhu Yan carefully placed the flower in her palm.

Bai Yanci gave only three flowers.

"Why did you suddenly come to me asking for flowers? What do you want them for?" Bai Yanci asked curiously, arms crossed.

"Get something," Zhu Yan said vaguely.

Before leaving, she couldn't help but confirm with Bai Yanci one more time: "I remember you said before that the sap of flowers can be added directly to herbs without any problems?"

Bai Yanci nodded. "Yes, it only enhances the fragrance."

"Okay, I understand." Zhu Yan walked away.

Only Bai Yanci remained, looking utterly bewildered.

What exactly is Zhu Yan planning to do with his flowers? Make them into a perfume?

If that's really the case, then the perfume couldn't possibly be for Zhu Yan's own use, as he's always been a rather rough person.

If it's a gift for a female, that's understandable... wait, does he really intend to make something and give it to a female?
