Battlefield Priest's Diary

Chapter 166 Implicated

Chapter 166 Implicated

In the morning, the Ford Raptor parked in front of the chapel again.

Stella jumped off the bus with a food bag in her hand. Because she was unusually wearing high heels, she almost twisted her ankle when she landed, so she was a little bouncy.

Once she regained her footing, she first bent down to fix her bangs in the rearview mirror, which was unusual for her. As she closed the car door, she hummed an unknown song, and she seemed to be in a very good mood.

The guy gave her a pinecone-shaped pendant a few days ago, which made the girl feel that their relationship had taken another step closer.

Since they were already quite familiar with each other, Stella didn't even knock; she casually walked in carrying her groceries.

"Qin! Look what I've prepared for you and the children..."

The next second, she froze.

Just then, a young woman dressed in a sexy outfit walked out. She was around twenty years old, youthful and beautiful, with a great figure. As her powerful legs swayed, her fair waist was faintly visible through her hot pants.

The two women exchanged a glance, the other smiled sweetly, and walked away.

Stella's face turned completely black.

The next moment, sensing danger, the crows cawed and took to the sky.

A tremendous noise erupted inside the house!

"You'd better explain yourself! Didn't you say you were taking care of the child here? With those legs of yours?!" Stella grabbed Qin Hao's collar, her carefully crafted ladylike image instantly vanishing.

Little heads peeked out from behind the church, the children looking curiously at the priest who was once "omnipotent" but was now hiding nervously.

"Wait, there's a reason for this. Let me explain." Qin Hao raised his hands and whispered a few words in the woman's ear.

"What! The Security Bureau?!" The woman was startled and instinctively let go of his hand.

"Keep your voice down! I just found out too." Qin Hao patted Stella's shoulder, indicating that there were still children nearby, and asked her to come inside with him to talk.

The two entered the chapel one after the other. By this time, the girl had calmed down and listened to Qin Hao's account. She looked in the direction the woman had left earlier, lost in thought.

"I think I know," Stella said, biting her lip with some dissatisfaction.

"You've probably been implicated by someone."

"Who?"

"Who else could it be? That roughneck who loved to drink, your former partner." Stella rolled her eyes at the sky.

"Donikov? What can he do?" Qin Hao asked curiously. Although they hadn't seen each other for a while, he remembered his partner as a simple person who didn't seem like the type to cause trouble.

Stella glanced around, bent down, and whispered, "Let me tell you, that guy must have had some incredible luck; he made a fortune a year ago..."

Meanwhile, outside the church.

A voluptuous FSB woman carrying a plastic bag walked up to a nearby building. Her rose-colored high heels clicked as she climbed the wooden stairs. After making sure no one was behind her, she pushed open a door.

The room was simply furnished with only a few basic pieces of furniture, and the writing board on the wall was covered with densely written characters.

His companion was using binoculars to monitor the glass across the street.

The man was wearing casual short-sleeved clothes, staring intently at the opposite yard, holding a sketching pen in his hand, and occasionally jotting things down.

"There's no freshly ground coffee in this small town, you can only drink instant coffee." The fiery woman said, picking up the bag in her hand and taking out the food items one by one.

"A woman came here just now, and she seems to have a special relationship with the target."

"Add sugar? Or not?"

"With sugar, please!"

The man took a cup of coffee with sugar, wrote a string of words in his notebook, and then grabbed a sandwich and quickly stuffed it into his mouth.

Bread crumbs fell on the table.

With a flapping sound, a large crow hopped in through the window, glanced at the two people, and then boldly jumped in to peck at the scraps on the table.

It was a regular customer recently, only eating scraps of food, so neither of them paid much attention to it.

The woman with a hot figure took a sip of coffee, took over her shift, and continued to keep an eye on the other side through binoculars. With her other hand, she casually picked up her partner's notebook and read softly: "Leaving home for morning exercise at 6 a.m. sharp, 5 kilometers at a moderate pace, without contact with anyone."

"I returned to the church at 7 o'clock and started making breakfast for the children, about ten to fifteen people."

"At 10 o'clock, I was at the choir, in the small chapel... then I played with the squirrels for a while..."

"The town's purchasing agent came this afternoon and left a bag of goods. The outer packaging contained ordinary daily necessities; investigation is pending..."

"Tonight, I'll change the tires on the cars in the yard."

slap~
The woman, her notebook slammed face down on the table, stood up dejectedly. "Is this all there is? This kind of information is completely worthless!"

The man shrugged, meaning that was all.

The woman spread her hands and started spinning in circles.

“He doesn’t drink alcohol, doesn’t participate in group sports, and doesn’t like the internet. Apart from occasionally traveling abroad, he has almost no hobbies that people his age should have.”

“Many outrageous criminals are just ordinary, unassuming citizens in their daily lives. You’ve seen them before,” his companion chimed in.

“You’re right, but something still feels off. Logically, even if the funds are a bit unusual, it seems a bit much for the higher-ups to have us monitor people like this.” The woman downed her coffee in one gulp, placed her hands on the table, and suddenly fixed her beautiful eyes on her companion.
"When you left, the minister spoke to you alone for ten minutes. What did he say?!"

The man sighed, raised his hand to scratch his messy hair, and finally said helplessly.

"Okay, I knew I couldn't hide it from you."

He reached into his shirt pocket, took out a photo, and placed it on the table.

The photo shows two young people who are clearly college students, with their arms around each other and facing the camera, smiling happily. It is clear that one of them is the Asian man they have been keeping an eye on for some time.

“The person on the other side isn’t actually our main target. The higher-ups are asking us to focus our investigation on someone else.” The man pressed his finger down on the other side of the photo.

"Alexander Sergeyevich Donikov, the partner of the subject of this observation, was once an appraiser at a museum in Sochi."

"He has a dark past, is a heavy drinker, can't hold onto money, and was even fired for stealing collectibles. He was originally just a nobody."

"Interestingly, starting two years ago, this guy also suddenly acquired a batch of high-value antiques, which even appeared in Afghanistan, leading to suspicion from above..."

"Wait a minute, something seems to be happening." His female companion interrupted him, picking up her binoculars at the same time.

The man and woman inside the church walked together to the Ford Raptor outside the door, then stepped on the gas and drove away from the church.

"They're leaving! Let's follow them!" Two FSB agents dropped their coffee and rushed downstairs. A short while later, a Volkswagen sedan started up and drove away.

The big crow hopped around, tilted its little head, glanced at the two people who had left, and swallowed the ham left on the table.

"Quack! Woman! Skinny! Fool!"

Sure enough, a short while later, the Ford Raptor circled back from the other side of the town.

"Have you shaken them off?" Stella poked her head out of the window to check behind her.

"I led them to the swamp on the other side of the lake. The road conditions there might be a bit problematic. They won't be back before dark." Qin Hao chuckled and adjusted the Raptor's rearview mirror.

"Shall I leave?"

"Where?"

"Go find Donikov. We need to find out what he's up to." Qin Hao pulled the gearshift.

Stella paused for a moment, then spoke.

"Qin, if you want to go see him, you might have to drive a bit far."

Where is he?

"Irkutsk, Tunguska, you might not believe it..."

"He built a huge museum there."
