Chapter 12 Plan
If it weren't for fixing the Land Cruiser, Li Younan would have almost forgotten that his driver's license was about to expire.

Only after Lu Haibo reminded him did he rush to renew his certificate.

Holding his brand-new C1 driver's license, Li Younan took the subway back home. He didn't drive over to renew his license because of a rather annoying thing—he wasn't very confident in his driving skills.

If I remember correctly, the last time I drove was when I took my driving test, which was five or six years ago.

Thinking back to when he took his driving test, everyone around him was enrolling in driving school. Perhaps out of herd mentality, or maybe because he thought he might need it someday, he also enrolled and took the test.

However, since graduation, he has been working very close to Yang Ting's house, with the subway right outside and it only two stops away from the company, so there is really no need for him to buy a car.

Since there was no need for it, the idea of buying a car was temporarily put on hold.

It wasn't until Li Younan started the Land Cruiser that he suddenly realized the problem... With his terrible driving skills, if he accidentally drove off in such a big car and bumped or knocked it over, it would be a real problem.

Li Younan's idea was to find a skilled mechanic to drive the car to a quiet area in the suburbs or an industrial park where there was little traffic, so he could practice and get a feel for it. Lu Haibo, however, didn't have time to do this with him; after all, Li Younan was in it to make money.

Li Younan took out his phone on the subway and searched through his contacts to see if there were any friends who could help him.

Unfortunately, Li Younan was not a native of Binhai City. His circle of friends consisted mainly of his colleagues and his university classmates, most of whom did not stay in Binhai City.

Li Younan sighed slightly, put down his phone, and decided to put the matter aside for now if necessary.

He returned to Lu Haibo's modification shop. Just as he arrived at the shop entrance, Lu Haibo saw him, happily came over, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "You're back just in time. The things have arrived."

Li Younan asked in confusion, "What is that?"

Lu Haibo smiled slightly: "You'll see when you come and see for yourself."

Li Younan followed Lu Haibo to the car, where workers were installing something in the trunk.

Li Younan leaned over to take a look and saw that a cage-like extension frame had been installed in the trunk. The worker had finished tightening the last screw and jumped out from inside.

Previously, Li Younan had mentioned to Lu Haibo that he wanted an extension rack and a rooftop platform. Unexpectedly, Lu Haibo had kept it in mind and quietly bought all the parts.

Lu Haibo added, "Besides this, there's also a rooftop platform and a storage box on the door."

Li Younan was somewhat surprised.

Lu Haibo continued to explain, "The spare tire for this Land Cruiser is placed under the rear of the car, and there's a storage box that can be installed behind the door. Aren't you going on a long trip? These basic modifications are very necessary, so I'll give you these things."

Li Younan was speechless. He opened his mouth, but then choked up.

Seeing Li Younan's expression, Lu Haibo immediately gave him a "disgusted" look and punched him in the chest: "Don't try to be all mushy with me!"

Then Lu Haibo said seriously, "Brother, I admire your choice. I've also fantasized about living a life like yours, one of poetry and distant places, but I've never had the determination to take that step. That's what youth is all about—travel and explore. There's not much I can do to help you, but be careful on the road, and call me if anything happens!"

Li Younan nodded. At this point, saying thank you would seem too sentimental; he simply kept his gratitude in his heart. For a guy, getting used to driving wasn't that difficult. Lu Haibo's modification shop wasn't far from the suburbs. Li Younan drove alone at a very low speed to a sparsely populated area to practice.

Two or three days later, driving was basically no problem.

He was still a novice, and while driving on the highway wasn't a big problem, parking was a real challenge for him.

For a moment, Li Younan also had some doubts about whether choosing to get a car for a trip was a wise choice.

Right now, besides his driving skills being a problem, he has other worries. The biggest one is that he doesn't have enough money.

Although buying the Land Cruiser only cost 6000 yuan, even with minimal maintenance, the total cost was nearly 100,000 yuan. Adding insurance premiums and other necessary expenses, Li Younan only had 70,000 to 80,000 yuan left.

The gas costs alone are enough to make ends meet.

It's unrealistic to expect to travel around China with such a small amount of money. I need to think carefully about how to make money, ideally by traveling and earning money at the same time.

For a traveler, the most obvious way to make money is to become a video creator and start a social media account. However, Li Younan currently lacks the qualifications to become a social media influencer because he lacks a unique selling point. A Land Cruiser and himself—this setup is hardly interesting, and starting an account without a clear purpose would be pointless.

Before figuring out his career path, Li Younan decided to put it on hold for now. However, he would definitely start making videos later. Besides that path, the only other option Li Younan could think of right now was to rely on his old profession of system development to take on some odd jobs online to make ends meet.

This little thing didn't make Li Younan anxious. He looked at the balance on his bank card and smiled to himself. He still had so much money.

As you keep checking in, the more skills you gain, the more likely you are to find ways to monetize them in the future. Instead of worrying about this right now, it's better to focus all your energy on the trip itself.

So, it's time to seriously plan the rest of the trip. Given his current poor driving skills, Li Younan doesn't plan to go straight to the 318 National Highway or undertake more difficult journeys such as crossing uninhabited areas.

He divided his life journey into three stages.

The first stage is a road trip, starting from the coastal city and visiting all the developed cities in the east.

Because cities in the east have well-developed transportation and complete facilities, even if the technology is not so advanced, it will be relatively safe. In addition, by checking in and unlocking new skills in the process, it can also pave the way for going further afield and venturing into more complex routes.

What if I randomly pick up a "driving ability +1" reward? Wouldn't that be a sure thing?

The second stage is when I officially embark on my journey, heading towards the Midwest.

Along the way, besides visiting cities, many of the spots required camping and overnight stays. By then, I had already gained a lot of experience, so I just enjoyed myself.

The third stage is for true professional travelers and adventurers, such as climbing high peaks, traversing primeval forests, and deep-sea diving, all of which require extremely high levels of expertise.

Li Younan chose Jinling City as his first stop. He didn't need to prepare much; he planned to practice driving for two more days before setting off.

Li Younan named his car "Little Ku," patted the steering wheel, and said, "Buddy, from now on we're brothers fighting side by side. Let's travel all over the world together!"
