Chapter 16 Jinling Museum

Li Younan has had very good luck since arriving in Jinling City.

He drove to the gas station in the morning and found that the price of gas had dropped by 30 cents.

Since buying the car, he has been particularly concerned about gas prices.

What's most delightful is that he didn't intentionally try to take advantage of this situation, but fate allowed him to reap a huge benefit.

After filling up the gas tank, Li Younan went to have breakfast.

When I came out of the breakfast shop, I saw a car parked on the side of the road with a parking ticket on the window.

In an instant, his mood soured.

He tore off the ticket; there were no points deducted, just a 50 yuan fine.

Li Younan scanned the QR code above to pay the fine, and after calculating, he found that the money he had gained from the gas price had actually resulted in a loss of half of his original amount.

Overwhelmed with grief, he was suddenly overcome with sorrow.

And so the day began.

Since deciding to start traveling, time seems to have slowed down.

Li Younan stopped paying attention to what day of the week it was.

But it must be said that he was really lucky.

As is well known, the Jinling Museum is extremely difficult to book in advance; reservations must be made at least a week ahead.

However, you can occasionally find bargains on weekdays.

Today happened to be Monday, and it wasn't peak tourist season, so he and Zhu Qingyue were able to successfully book admission to the Jinling Museum.

10 a.m., at the entrance of Jinling Museum.

Li Younan, with the camera hanging around his neck, looked around.

Just then, Zhu Qingyue sent a message saying that she had already gone in and was waiting for him at the art museum.

After a pause, another message came: "There are two people here, me and my friend."

Li Younan put away his phone.

The sun was shining so brightly it was almost scorching, so he quickly followed the crowd into the museum.

Just as he stepped into the museum, he received a system notification: "You have arrived at the check-in point. Please stay in each hall for at least 10 minutes to complete the check-in."

Although it's called a check-in, Li Younan has noticed that the check-in tasks are not all the same, and he wonders if there will be more complicated check-in tasks in the future.

The Jinling Museum is open to visitors in a layout of one courtyard and six pavilions.

Li Younan had previously done some travel guides online, and most bloggers recommended starting the tour from the art museum.

It was clear that most people who came here had done their research beforehand, and the flow of people led him toward the art gallery.

Fortunately, it wasn't the weekend or peak tourist season, so there weren't too many tourists.

Li Younan arrived at the art museum quickly.

Then, from a distance, they saw Zhu Qingyue standing at the door, with a girl next to her who had a round but cute face.

Zhu Qingyue waved to him.

……

Li Younan was completely absorbed in exploring the museum along the way.

It's clear that Zhu Qingyue, who is also interested in history and culture, is taking this very seriously.

Each exhibition hall can't be explored in 10 minutes, so Li Younan can focus entirely on the tour itself without worrying about whether the check-in time is met.

But compared to their focused attention, the girl named Gan Tian seemed somewhat distracted.

She seemed very interested in Li Younan, chattering away with questions the whole way: "Where are you from? Where did you go to university? When did you graduate? Where did you work after graduation?" Li Younan didn't seem to care much and answered casually.

At this moment, Zhu Qingyue was walking ahead alone. Li Younan had just finished answering the question about the current situation, which made Gan Tian pause for a moment.

She blinked and said, "So that means you're currently unemployed and have no source of income?"

Li Younan nodded and said, "That's about right."

Gan Tian is a staunch believer in the "material must come before the superstructure" theory.

In her view, love without a material foundation is all illusion, castles in the air, and bubbles.

Zhu Qingyue is Gan Tian's best friend; they grew up together in the same alley. Zhu Qingyue's parents are both university professors.

Parents of the previous generation always nag you about not dating while you're in college. But as soon as you graduate, they start worrying for no reason that their daughter won't be able to get married.

Zhu Qingyue is a case in point. She had just graduated from university when her aunt and uncle introduced her to several men with Beijing residency. So she went on a trip to relax and clear her head.

Gan Tian had already ruled out Li Younan in her heart.

After all, a guy born in a small county town who doesn't have a household registration in the capital or a coastal city and is currently unemployed, even if he's handsome, that's all he has left.

After visiting three exhibition halls, Li Younan would occasionally raise his camera to capture certain moments.

Unfortunately, there wasn't a good subject or a good mood to capture the moment.

He really wanted to design a few poses for Zhu Qingyue, but in the end he held back.

Even now, he and Zhu Qingyue are not particularly close. Unless Zhu Qingyue takes the initiative to ask, it's best to let this matter go.

The next exhibition hall is the Republic of China Hall.

Arriving here feels like stepping on the imprints of history, returning to the past step by step.

Having seen dinosaurs from ancient times, felt the imprints left by literati and scholars throughout history, and experienced the clash between "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" and technology, we have finally arrived at the old street from the Republic of China era.

With its streetlights, old streets, and vintage cars, it feels more like a street than a museum.

Li Younan's mind was instantly filled with many beautiful compositions, and he had a strong urge to find a model to take pictures with.

They offer clothing rental and photo shoot services here.

Li Younan hesitated for a moment, then called out to Zhu Qingyue in front of her: "Why don't you rent a cheongsam and I'll take pictures of you?"

Zhu Qingyue paused for a moment, glanced at Li Younan's camera, then shook her head and said with a slightly embarrassed smile, "I don't like wearing cheongsams."

Seeing this, Gan Tian smiled secretly.

She knew that Zhu Qingyue never liked taking photos, and it had nothing to do with whether or not she was wearing a cheongsam.

In Zhu Qingyue's words, posed photos are about deliberately creating an emotion that is unrelated to the present moment. She doesn't like fake emotions, and a good photographer should capture the moment when her true feelings are revealed.

But where can you find a photographer like that?

Gan Tian loves taking photos, so she is unhappy with Zhu Qingyue's strange idea.

But seeing Li Younan's discomfiture, Gan Tian chimed in, "None of us like taking pictures."

Li Younan was a little disappointed, but he just smiled and said, "Okay."

Just then, the sound of two girls arguing nearby reached my ears.

Two girls wearing cheongsams. It was clear that the cheongsams were of excellent quality and were not rented, but rather worn outside.

The two girls had put on exquisite and beautiful makeup, clearly indicating that they came specifically to take photos.

One of the girls, holding the camera, said pitifully, "It doesn't look good. The tutorials online clearly said this, and I adjusted these parameters, but the photos turned out so badly."

The other girl sighed softly, "I already said we should spend some more money to hire a photographer..."

Li Younan stroked his chin, thought for a moment, and then went over to strike up a conversation.
