Chapter 455 Outbreak
The Ferrari crashed heavily to the ground, bounced up and rolled once more, before finally landing upside down in the middle of the side road.

Inside the car, Liu Li was already unconscious.

Zhao Xiaochui shook his dazed head, a surge of heat instinctively coursing through his body.

He gently brushed his right hand across Liu Li's forehead, a warm current seeping in, while his left hand clicked as he unbuckled her seatbelt.

Liu Li slowly woke up, but before she could react, Zhao Xiaochui had already kicked the badly deformed driver's side door open and shouted, "Let's go!"

"Little hammer..."

Liu Li didn't move, but stared at him intently with her incredibly bright eyes. In those eyes, the love, dependence, and trust that had been suppressed for so long poured out without reservation at this moment, so intense that it was almost overwhelming.

Her voice was soft, but exceptionally clear: "You go first, and come find me after you've resolved this problem."

Zhao Xiaochui suddenly turned his head to look at her and saw a fleeting look in her eyes.

His brows furrowed, and his gaze quickly swept downwards. Liu Li's legs were firmly stuck between the twisted and deformed center console and seat, unable to move!
"Don't talk nonsense!" Zhao Xiaochui roared, a ruthless glint in his eyes.

He gripped the heavy object pressing down on Liu Li's legs with both hands, his arm muscles bulging, veins standing out, and a surge of heat coursing through his body!
"Creak—Boom!"

With a sickening metallic tearing sound, he used brute force to tear and bend the heavy car structure, forcibly creating a space!
Throughout the entire process, Liu Li neither cried out in pain nor urged him on. She simply stared at him with her bright, watery eyes, as if she wanted to etch every movement of his into her heart, as if she would never see him again in the next moment.

Zhao Xiaochui was lying face down, completely focused, tearing at the twisted metal that was trapping Liu Li's legs with his bare hands.

Just then, Liu Li's upper body suddenly moved! Instead of trying to move her legs, she used all her strength to pounce on Zhao Xiaochui's back and protect him tightly!
Almost at the same moment!

“Diudiu~”

Three crisp sounds ripped through the night sky!

Outside the car, a young man with a crazed expression pulled the pin on a nail gun aimed at the inside of the vehicle!

Zhao Xiaochui felt Liu Li's body on his back suddenly tremble violently three times, followed by her suppressed, painful groans.

Only then did Zhao Xiaochui realize what had happened! An unprecedented rage instantly overwhelmed his reason!

"Fuck you, you son of a bitch!!!"

He roared and whirled around, pulling the limp Liu Li into his arms. Almost simultaneously, the fourth nail shot out, piercing his side with a "thud!"

Zhao Xiaochui seemed to feel no pain. His eyes were bloodshot, like an enraged lion. Taking advantage of the momentum of turning around, he delivered a side kick, infused with all his strength and anger, and slammed it hard into the chest of the crazed young man!

"Crack!" A clear sound of bone breaking rang out.

The young man was thrown seven or eight meters away as if he had been hit by a truck, crashing heavily into the roadside guardrail and dying instantly.

Zhao Xiaochui didn't even glance at him again, and suddenly turned her head to look at the corner not far away, where the middle-aged man who had appeared in Sanlitun was now standing quietly.

Compared to before, he seemed to have aged a lot, but his eyes were frighteningly bright, radiating a cold light.

The man's lips curled into a smiling smile. He pointed lightly at Liu Li, who was lying on the verge of death in Zhao Xiaochui's arms, and then elegantly made a throat-slitting gesture in front of his own throat.

A silent provocation is more lethal than any roar.

"I know I can't kill you," the man's voice came from a distance, eerily calm, "but what about her?"

"Unless you are truly heartless, without this state of mind, I wonder how you will be able to activate that 'internal energy' to give massages in the future?"

After saying that, the man even waved to Zhao Xiaochui with a smile, indicating that he could come over and take revenge.

Seeing Zhao Xiaochui holding Liu Li motionless, he shrugged in boredom, turned around, and slowly disappeared into the depths of the dark alley. Zhao Xiaochui didn't bother to give chase; he was completely stunned by the sudden turn of events. He knelt on the ground, helplessly holding Liu Li in his arms.

Warm blood was gushing from the wound on her back, staining his arm red. Liu Li's face was deathly pale, and she vomited blood profusely, her breath rapidly weakening.

“I knew it… this day would come sooner or later…” Liu Li no longer hid her eyes. She was spitting out mouthfuls of blood, but she still looked at Zhao Xiaochui greedily with bright eyes, as if she wanted to engrave his image into her soul.

"After all... to carve out a path on a road with no end in sight... what else can people like us offer besides risking our lives?" Her voice was broken and tinged with blood.

She coughed up another mouthful of blood, her breath visibly weakening rapidly, yet she managed to raise her trembling hand and gently stroke Zhao Xiaochui's face, which was stained with blood and tears:
"Look... thank goodness... thank goodness I didn't actually agree to spend my life with you... otherwise... how heartbroken you would be right now..."

“It’s okay, little hammer…you…you still have two more…” She tried to force a reassuring smile, but blood stained her teeth.

"Thank you... for giving me a... fairytale-like life... I knew... I wasn't worthy of it... The Cinderella story... only exists... in dreams..."

Her voice grew softer and softer, and the hand that had been stroking Zhao Xiaochui's cheek finally fell limply to her side. Liu Li's hand fell limply, and her eyes, which had once been filled with starlight, gradually lost focus, still gazing at him.

Overwhelmed by immense grief, Zhao Xiaochui was instantly engulfed like ice water, almost suffocating him.

But the next second, the surging heat within his body finally brought Zhao Xiaochui back to his senses.

"Oh right, I still have this."

His warm right hand slowly rose, his five fingers slightly spread, and a gentle yet powerful warmth began to emanate from his palm, causing the surrounding air to ripple slightly.

He gently hovered his hand above Liu Li's chest...

……

Five minutes later, the scene was shattered by a sudden, piercing silence as an elderly figure staggered into the darkness of the intersection.

The piercing sirens grew louder as they approached! Several police cars, ambulances, and a few unmarked black SUVs seemed to emerge from the ground, rushing to the scene at near-out-of-control speeds, screeching to a halt, and surrounding the accident site.

The three teams, including one from a certain company, acted as if facing a formidable enemy. Their swift action, though revealing their tension, quickly established a cordon and took control of the surrounding area.

Lei Zhen, the temporary head of a certain company, was panting heavily with sweat on his face when he nervously approached the car. When he saw the unconscious Liu Li and four blood-stained nails beside her, and no other figure in sight, he breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, he quickly made arrangements for rescue and on-site investigation, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

Just then, he heard an emergency communication alert in his earpiece. He was startled and immediately answered the call.

The voice coming through the headphones was no longer the youthful, naive one he usually heard, but a coldness he had never heard before, each word sounding as if squeezed out from between clenched teeth:
"this is the last time."

"If they lose even one more hair..."

"No one will need to breathe the air for the next day."

Communications ceased abruptly.

……

An hour later, in the JW Joint Staff Duty Room.

The silence of the night was broken by a sharp, urgent ringing of the dedicated telephone line. The duty officer immediately grabbed the receiver.

What came through the line was the slightly distorted but unmistakably tense voice of a colleague from the Pentagon:
"This is an emergency call... Please verify your identity."

The American's voice trembled slightly, "Is your... Mr. Zhao Xiaochui currently under control? We... we..."
