1960: My uncle is the FBI Director

I give Chapter 216 a perfect score!
Silence filled the car.
Hoover stared at Theodore for a moment, then asked him in a deep voice:
"What do you think the real criminal should say?"
Theodore shook his head:
"Different criminals have different stories to tell."
Hoover continued to stare at him, pressing for an answer:
"Since different criminals say different things, why can you be sure that these didn't come from the mouths of real criminals?"
Theodore met his gaze, recalling and mimicking the way Bernie spoke when reporting to Supervisor Wenner and Supervisor Rosen.
Instead of attempting to answer Hoover's questions, he profiled the person who wrote this "defendant's statement":
"Based on my analysis, I have the following judgment about the person who wrote this statement."
"This is a male, white, between 35 and 45 years old."
"Neat appearance, but not eye-catching."
"His hairstyle might be a conservative side part or slicked-back hair, his clothes would be impeccable, and he would look more like a bank manager or university professor than a field agent."
Hoover looked at Thorson.
Thorsen looked surprised.
He frequently read the reports submitted by Supervisor Rosen, and also carefully examined the case closure reports handled by Theodore's team, concluding that he had already experienced the magic of Theodore's so-called criminal personality profiling.
But even then, Theodore, to his face, described the author of the passage based on just one paragraph in the newspaper.
This didn't just make him surprised; it made him feel somewhat horrified.
Hoover read the answer he wanted from Tolson's expression.
He turned back to look at Theodore, his expression becoming much more serious.
Theodore's profiling continues:
"His writing style suggests that he has a very high level of education, possibly a graduate of a prestigious university such as Georgetown University or the University of Chicago, and may have a degree in law or English literature."
"His background should be upper-middle class, and the language suggests that he grew up in a family environment that values education and cultural capital, rather than the blue-collar class."
"He is a calm and arrogant person who lacks empathy."
"He was confident that he didn't need to understand or agree with what he wrote, based on his own abilities."
“He may never have actually spoken to the criminal face-to-face, or even had any contact with the criminal.”
"He is an internal affairs agent."
Theodore stopped profiling, reviewed the information carefully, and nodded.
He was very satisfied with his imitation, believing that he had reached at least 90% of Bernie's skill.
Silence fell over the carriage.
Hoover looked at Thorson again.
Thorsen nodded almost imperceptibly.
Hoover fell into deep thought.
A few seconds later, Hoover broke the silence.
He asked Theodore:
"What would you write if it were you?"
Theodore answered without hesitation:
"I won't get caught."
Thorsen couldn't help but peek over to look at Theodore.
Hoover's eyes widened slightly, and he immediately forgot what he was going to say, his lips pursed in a downward smirk.
"You're so skilled, have you done this before?"
Theodore shook his head.
Hoover snorted and asked Theodore how he knew he wouldn't get caught if he hadn't done anything wrong.
Theodore paused for a moment:
"Criminal acts must have criminal motives."
"A suspect can erase all physical evidence, but cannot erase psychological evidence."
“Psychological evidence inevitably reveals the suspect’s psychological profile.”
“Psychological profiling can help identify criminal suspects.”
He pointed to himself:
"Understanding this principle allows us to use it to find a suspect who perfectly matches our psychological profile, or to deliberately leave identifying marks to mislead, creating a significant gap between the suspect's psychological profile and our own."
Hoover's eyes sharpened. He stared intently at Theodore, wanting to know where Theodore had learned all this.
But in the end, I didn't ask.
He was determined to send someone to Felton to investigate thoroughly and find Professor Theodore and his ilk.
This task will be left to Thorson.
Tolson and Hoover had slightly different ideas.
His first thought was to apply this profiling ability to intelligence gathering.
Theodore could glean a great deal of information about the author from these few short sentences.
What if it were intelligence instead?
Can we glean a great deal of information about the person who sent the intelligence from a single piece of intelligence?
Thorsen did not speak.
He believed that his old friend Hoover must have thought of this long ago.
In the silence, the car stopped in front of the White House.
President Jack and First Lady Jacqueline hosted a state dinner at the White House for visiting President Barry, with Hoover in attendance.
Hoover had received the invitation to the dinner two weeks prior.
The invitation was sent by the White House Social Secretary's office and stated that one guest was allowed to accompany the guest.
Following David Bezerlong's collaboration with the CIA in the attack on Theodore, Hoover submitted a request to the White House Office of Social Secretary to increase the number of guest slots.
The application was approved quickly.
After being checked by Secret Service agents and routinely and perfunctorily touched Hoover and Tolson's briefcases, the three were allowed to pass.
Following the directions, they lined up outside the reception line, waiting to formally shake hands with President Jack, First Lady Jacqueline, and President Barry and be introduced.
Theodore met many familiar faces here.
They all greeted Hoover, and some greeted him in return.
Theodore responded with a practiced, semi-permanent smile.
He patted his pocket, ready to add more numbers to it at any moment.
His wish to add a number was finally fulfilled during the after-dinner entertainment time.
Hoover led him back and forth through the crowd.
This was a scene rarely seen before.
Hoover was not fond of socializing, especially at such banquets.
He is a very private person and usually only socializes in private clubs or more private places.
But this habit has changed dramatically this year.
Everyone in DC and even across America knew that Hoover had started taking his nephew around to build connections.
This has made many people uneasy.
They did not want to face another Hoover II.
One Hoover is enough.
Theodore followed behind Hoover, behaving much like the other people his age in the hall, greeting all sorts of people.
They soon arrived in front of Matthew J. Darren.
Many of the guests turned their gaze in this direction.
They had heard about what had happened recently.
The Hoover of the past would never boast to his opponents after a victory.
Even Hoover in the past wouldn't have left evil unpunished like this.
Thinking of this, they couldn't help but turn their gaze to Theodore, who was following behind Hoover.
Theodore stood in front of Matthew J. Darren, listening intently to his uncle Hoover's introduction.
Matthew J. Darren is a tall man who doesn't look like an academic or lawyer at all, but rather like a business tycoon from the Midwest.
He is 6.2 feet (about 188 cm) tall, almost the same height as Bernie, and with his similar build, he looks very imposing.
His warm smile softened the intimidating effect of his physique.
Neither Matthew J. Darren nor Hoover mentioned David Bezeron, as if he had never existed.
