Chapter 147 Captain America, the Scepter, and Hydra

Chapter 147 Captain America, the Scepter, Hydra

Speaking of Strucker's suspicion that Captain America is "one of their own," we have to mention the purpose of his special trip to New York.

Recruiting Luca was only one aspect; more importantly, he had previously received a gift from Captain America.

Loki's scepter!
This story begins after the First Battle of New York.

The Hydra team of S.H.I.E.L.D. originally retrieved Loki's scepter, a piece of loot, after the First Battle of New York.

But as they were preparing to return the scepter to Alexander Pierce, the leader of the H.I.E.L.D. faction, Captain America suddenly appeared, intercepted the Loki scepter, and revealed his identity as Hydra.

This incident actually caused quite a stir among the high-ranking members of Hydra.

Captain America knew of Hydra's existence and admitted to being Hydra, but he did not reveal Hydra's existence to the public afterward.

Each of these events alone would be enough to cause turmoil within Hydra, but their simultaneous occurrence created a climate of fear and uncertainty, preventing Hydra from taking any rash actions.

Initially, the top leaders of all the factions within Hydra were probing each other's backgrounds.

They wanted to figure out which faction had the power to recruit Captain America into Hydra.

After all, Alexander Pierce knew very well that Captain America, Steve Rogers, was definitely not someone he had recruited.

But the other party not only knew of Hydra's existence, but also accurately revealed his identity and knew the affiliation of Crossbones and the other members of the Hydra team.

This series of intelligence was unknown even to 99% of Hydra's own people.

Pierce was truly restless and unable to eat or sleep if he couldn't figure out the reason.

Fortunately, not long after the incident, after making inquiries from various sources and gathering a comprehensive collection of information, the situation was resolved.

Hydra also confirmed that the so-called 'Captain America' was actually a fake identity created by Loki using illusion magic.

While Loki knowing about Hydra's existence is no small matter, it's much simpler than Captain America's problem.

So in fact, for a long time afterward, while S.H.I.E.L.D. was aggressively pursuing Loki, Hydra was secretly sabotaging them, trying to find him first.

To prevent this alien from accidentally revealing the existence of Hydra to others.

However.
When Hydra actually found Loki and reached an agreement with him...

However, he heard a demand for the scepter from the other party, and Loki clearly didn't know much about the inner workings of their organization.

Now, the identity of the previous Captain America has become even more mysterious.

In fact, the so-called 'Loki disguised himself' is just Steve Rogers' side of the story.

At the time, most of the surveillance cameras inside Stark Tower were damaged, so no one could verify the truth of this statement, making it difficult for Hydra to determine Captain America's true stance.

All of Hydra's high-ranking officials who knew about this became tense again, as if a sword of Damocles was hanging over their heads.

However, all of these are actually from the perspective of Pierce and other high-ranking Hydra executives.

Only Baron Strucker knew.

On the very day the First Battle of New York ended, another Captain America appeared at a hidden Hydra base with Loki's scepter, left the scepter inside, and then disappeared without a trace.

Coincidentally, although this base was located in New York, it belonged to the European faction led by Strucker.

Upon receiving the scepter, the base leader immediately sealed off the entire base to prevent the news from leaking.

He immediately contacted his superior, Baron Strucker, to request further instructions.

However, during that period, there was frequent communication between the various factions within Hydra, and it was difficult to distinguish between true and false information. Strucker was worried that this was a trap, but he also did not want other factions to notice that he had benefited, which is why he had delayed coming to retrieve the scepter until now.

In Baron Strucker's mind, Captain America, who had taken the initiative to deliver Loki's scepter to him, was most likely one of his own.

It is only out of caution that we need to continue to investigate and confirm.

However, what Strucker didn't expect was that since leaving the Orange family villa, all his movements had been under Luca's surveillance!

"Where did such a big scepter go? Steve did a really sloppy job."

Having pieced together a rough truth from the information gathered from the surveillance footage over the past two days, Luca is now somewhat speechless as he criticizes Steve Rogers.

Of course, Luca wasn't complaining about the Steve he knew.

He's currently busy hunting down alien fugitives and fighting off otherworldly invaders all over the world. He's incredibly hardworking and dedicated, truly a model worker among model workers.

Luca was complaining about the 'old Steve' who traveled back from Avengers: Endgame.

When I first watched the movie, his "Hey, Hey Claw" was definitely a hit, but in the end, it left Steve with a mess at that point in time.

It's only because Captain America's identity is indeed too sensitive that Hydra doesn't dare to act rashly without absolute certainty.

Otherwise, Hydra, unaware of the situation, might have already secretly arrested and interrogated Steve.

More importantly, this guy actually threw Loki's scepter directly to Strucker.

"Recreating the plot isn't done the way you do it!"

However, complaints are complaints.

At present, this does not seem to be a bad thing for Luca.

'I was originally planning to keep Strucker around to make use of him, but now it seems unnecessary.'

Looking at the monitor screen, Luca's eyes narrowed into slits.

In fact, Luca had previously considered getting rid of Strucker and taking his place.

However, the [Transformation Watch] can only disguise appearance and cannot be accompanied by memories like the Skrulls.

At that point, this disguised Hydra leader wouldn't even know which way the gate to his own lair faces, so it would be a miracle if he could control the European branch.

However, if we can get our hands on Loki's scepter, which can control other people's minds, then taking over Strucker's power will become an easy task.

'I just don't know where Captain America got Loki's scepter? Didn't he only bring back the gems?'

'Well, it's a free gem of the soul, wouldn't it be a waste not to take it?'

Well, in Luca's eyes, the Mind Stone is now ownerless and belongs to the virtuous.

Having made his decision, Luca no longer hesitated.

With his eyes fixed on the monitor screen in front of him, he gave the order directly to Haro.

"Hey husky, get ready to fight!"

The next moment, what appeared on the screen was...

In the azure sky, a black dot is rapidly growing larger.

And this black dot that keeps getting closer to the camera is none other than the plane that Baron Strucker was on when he returned to Sokovia!
