Marvel: The Imposter Inventor

Chapter 59 Gift, Testing the Arm

Chapter 59 Gift, Testing the Arm

the other side.

In Hell's Kitchen, New York, in a safe house that is usually completely deserted.

A seemingly refined man is currently restrained by a machine frame.

His head was firmly fixed in front of him, his eyes were propped open by a special bracket, and there were also blindfolds on both sides of his head to block his vision, so that he could only look straight ahead and stare at the constantly flashing colorful patterns.

At that moment, another man, dressed in a suit and behaving with elegance and gentlemanly manners, appeared.

Standing next to the machine that held the refined-looking man, she spoke softly.

"Obedience will be rewarded."

"Are you willing to obey, Wesley?"

If someone familiar with the history of the CIA during the Cold War were here, they would immediately recognize this as a brainwashing tactic similar to Project MK-Ultra.

The person currently being brainwashed and strapped to the machine is none other than James Wesley, Kingpin's most trusted subordinate.

However, he, who was once second only to one in the New York underground gangs, can now only be like a stray dog, at the mercy of others.

Even so, Wesley still seemed unwilling to give up his loyalty to Kingpin.

"Shut up! I will avenge Wilson!"

Upon seeing this, the elegant man smiled, seemingly unconcerned.

"Okay, but actually I have plenty of time."

Having said that, he ignored Wesley, who was gritting his teeth and insisting, and turned to leave the closed room.

After he walked out the door.

Another young woman, who seemed to be under the elegant man's command, cautiously took two steps forward and asked with some confusion.

"Sir, the forces left behind by Kingpin seem to pose a threat to us."

The young woman actually wanted to say it was insignificant, but after hesitating for a moment, she changed her words.

"It seems like we could easily take him down, so why would the adults go to such lengths to control such a nobody?"

As she spoke, the woman subconsciously glanced at the 'brainwashing room,' as if she didn't care about Wesley inside, or even Kingpin from before.

However, the elegant man didn't seem to mind his subordinate's attitude, and simply explained in a gentle tone.

“You must remember that the most important thing is always people. Wilson Fisk’s remaining forces are indeed insignificant, but this one of his men is truly a talent.”

As he spoke, the man paused slightly, looked at the 'brainwashing room' again, and then smiled.

"Moreover, this wasn't prepared for myself; it was merely a perfectly appropriate gift for him."

After speaking, the man strode away, leaving behind a bewildered female subordinate.

A week passed in the blink of an eye.

It was different from what everyone expected.

Instead of improving after losing Kingpin, Hell's Kitchen seemed to be in constant turmoil because of the absence of its most powerful underworld emperor.

Luca's actions that night were like igniting a long-dormant powder keg.

Revenge, bloodshed, and the struggle for profits have driven these already strained gangs, large and small, into a complete frenzy.

Even though the New York Police Department has repeatedly deployed ESUs (Emergency Response Units) to cooperate with the police forces in Hell's Kitchen to suppress the crime, and even privately disregarded appearances by interviewing the larger gang leaders one by one.

But as soon as the police force withdraws, it won't be long before these gangsters escalate and expand the conflict again over some inexplicable minor friction.

It was as if these people weren't fighting for profits at all, but simply wanted to completely destroy Hell's Kitchen.

In Hell's Kitchen this week, there have been virtually no thefts or fraud cases. Every time a police dispatcher answers the phone, it's invariably because a shooting has occurred.

Even now, these gang-related disturbances are showing signs of gradually spreading beyond Hell's Kitchen.

The police, already overwhelmed by the aftermath of the Battle of New York, are beginning to consider whether they should request the city to mobilize the National Guard to intervene and suppress the unrest.

However, the one who started all of this.

Luca, however, was leisurely staying at home.

Well, saying he's 'leisurely' is a bit of an exaggeration, since Luca is actually 'getting beaten up' in his own backyard right now.

In the courtyard of the Orange family villa, Dunshan, who was being asked by Luca to accompany him in sparring practice, looked at Luca, who was sitting on the ground in front of him, and said somewhat awkwardly.

“Young Master, I actually think that the previous type of realistic arm would have suited you better.”

Dunshan, who had been busy outside these days, really couldn't understand why his young master would think of modifying the mechanical arm that Tony Stark gave him into its current state.

In short, how should I put it?

Dunshan felt that this mechanical arm looked a bit strange.
Especially when that arm is trembling up and down!
Seeing Dunshan's strange look, Luca, who had just been thrown to the ground, helplessly patted his butt and stood up again.

'I'd like to modify it into a lifelike arm too! But I don't have the capability!'

Of course, Luca only wanted to modify his existing arm into a prosthetic arm; he was not willing to give up the arm and go back to the 'low-end' Stark made.

At this moment, as the entire robotic arm continued to shake up and down, it immediately began to emit a bright green glow.

To outsiders, this glow might just be a light effect added for fun.

But in reality, Luca could feel the pain in his body from being knocked down by Dunshan disappearing rapidly.

Even the muscle soreness caused by the long training sessions was recovering at an extremely fast pace.

That's right, this is the core ability of the mechanical prosthetic limb called [Sweet Captive] that Luca just finished synthesizing these past few days.

As soon as his arm starts to tremble, a healing energy will emerge, slowly healing Luca's injuries.

In fact, Luca himself had secretly tested it in private.

Even severe penetrating wounds from swords and knives can eventually be fully healed by continuously shaking the arm as treatment.

Furthermore, Luca vaguely sensed that if the cost was destroying this arm, he could receive significant healing in an instant.

Of course, Luca would never waste such a talent unless absolutely necessary.

Moreover, the reason why Luca is so satisfied with this prosthetic limb is not just because of its simple therapeutic effect.

After Luca got up, he stretched his arms again.

Then he waved to Dunshan in front of him again and said softly.

"Come again!"

Let me tell you all, there might indeed be some issues with the four chapters from yesterday and the day before.

It was just a draft, and there wasn't enough time to revise it. I deleted over a dozen pages and completely rewrote the entire draft. I've now added six more chapters to the draft.

I think my writing is alright, so I'm just giving you a heads-up (so you don't leave...).
Tomorrow's two chapters will be titled '60 New Items' and '61 The True Inventor' respectively.

The two chapters the day after tomorrow are '62 Great Ups and Downs' and '63 Made by Hand'.

Most of them have accompanying pictures, so I hope everyone will continue reading.

Monday will be the last attempt to break through the three rivers; this is really important.

Thank you everyone.
