Wizards: Starting with Synthetic Gems

Chapter 358 The Second Sky

Chapter 358 The Second Sky

Locke was a little confused. He had long found it strange that there were isolated barriers between wizarding lands all over the world.

But the sky in the Wizarding World was even stranger than expected. There was a second sky, with another cloud layer above the existing clouds. Colliding into that cloud layer meant colliding into another world!
Meanwhile, in the central control room of the Sun Chasing Silver Shuttle, a wizard in the liquefaction stage, dressed in the distinctive earth-yellow and fiery red wizard robes of an alchemist, was ordering the numerous first-class wizard apprentices and formal wizards within the school to quickly activate the Sun Chasing Silver Shuttle's [Corona Blade] magic circle.

Instantly, a corona layer formed at the front end of the Sun Chasing Silver Shuttle, which transformed into a giant flying blade. Then, the Sun Chasing Silver Shuttle used the end of the corona flying blade to crash into the clouds above the clouds.

A powerful burst of energy erupted from the bow of the Sun Chaser, and in an instant, a tremendous impact swept across the entire wizard airship.

The entire wizard airship bounced back as if it had crashed into an invisible membrane in the sky, and then fell helplessly downwards.

But the next moment, the alchemists activated the solar transmutation array and threw a large amount of matter into it, causing a violent eruption of matter. The wizard airship regained power and charged upwards for the second time.

Inside the airship library, Locke sat at the long table, steadying himself. He saw this scene through the transparent glass window at the top of the library.

The transparent glass window is not actually glass, but is made of an alchemical material called Time Crystal. It has the special properties of being indestructible, absorbing energy to become harder, and being able to see through things. It is a material that many void warships prefer to build.

The Silver Shuttle crashed into the thick cloud wall for the second time, finally creating a crack. Then, the entire airship, under the immense pressure of the cloud wall, burrowed deep into the clouds like a drilling machine.

The entire Time Crystal observation window went dark.

Seeing this, Locke asked in confusion, "What's going on? Wait a minute, the world definitely feels different to me now."

Locke sensed a kind of illusion that his magic was being suppressed.

The whole world seemed to be targeting them, coming from all directions with undisguised arrogance and malice, aimed at all the wizards inside the airship.

'Boom~'

As the Void Warship passed through the cloud wall, a massive amount of world power converged into a bolt of lightning, striking the corona layer of the Sun Chaser. The entire warship trembled, as if an earthquake had struck.

Locke said, "This warship shouldn't have been built by that alchemy school, right? I don't think the magic level of that alchemy school is very high. The most powerful wizard seems to be only a liquefaction stage wizard."

The wizard Salvador was carefully adjusting the lotus leaves on his head. "Of course, that school only has the right to use and operate this void warship. The voyage and schedule of this void warship are determined by the White Wizard Association headquarters."

"The White Wizard Association places the utmost importance on the protection of private property, so this void warship could not possibly be the private property of a wizarding organization. Although the principle behind the construction of this void warship is not complicated, only the principle of the first stage, its scale is enormous. It would be impossible to build without an exaggerated number of first-stage alchemists, and without the guidance and planning of second-stage or even third-stage alchemists."

The Salvadoran wizard was worried that the lotus leaf on his head would be damaged, so he simply used both hands to protect it.

"The wizarding organization on this void warship is essentially just the crew of this airship. However, the Wizarding Association wanted to make the most of it, so they simply set up a wizarding academy on the spot to train alchemists specifically for repairing and piloting void warships."

"Alchemists who graduate from here will never have trouble finding jobs." Locke understood; it was like having a professional academy built right on a vehicle.

In this way, teaching, scientific research, industry, and most importantly, industry-related personnel can all be trained on this void warship.

This is truly a win-win situation.

Locke asked the Salvadoran wizard, "So, Salvadoran wizard, what about that second sky?"

The wizard Salvador shook his head. "As expected of Augustine the Breeder, your curiosity about the mysteries of the world is admirable. But I am not a wizard who studies this subject, so I don't know either. You can ask someone else, or check the books in the free library here."

"Perhaps you can find relevant information here. But I estimate the chances are slim, as this part of the knowledge is quite advanced."

"Knowledge is power, so some knowledge is blocked by the White Wizard Association."

The Salvadoran sorcerer, holding the lotus leaf on his head, said, "I only know some hearsay. For example, our world originally did not have a second cloud layer. The second cloud layer was essentially the sky of another world, but that world no longer exists; it has been swallowed up by our world."

"The remaining fragments of the world have become a second sky between some wizarding lands. It is very dangerous in the second sky, but it is the most efficient way to cross the major wizarding lands."

"Because the natural barriers between different wizarding lands are either dangerous areas that our wizarding world absolutely cannot set foot in, or spacetime fields that are even more complex than the Second Sky."

The Salvadoran wizard, who frequently travels on void warships, is quite experienced in this area. "For example, although the Land of Six Towers is located near the southeastern corner, it is separated by the Dragon Mountain Range. The Dragon Mountain Range is extremely vast, and there are even many true dragons within it."

"Among those true dragons, there may even be dragons with two or three rings."

"Moreover, the Dragon Realm may be even more complex than the current environment. If we take the land route, we will have to cross the Dragon Realm and the Dragon Mountains, which is more dangerous than it is now and will require more resources and time."

"Therefore, we usually take the sky route. And the sky route will lead us to a second sky like the one we see now."

Another bolt of lightning, evolved from the power of the world, struck the corona layer above the void warship.

The artificial sun thus became unstable, spewing out a lot of hot material, making the sky shine like a molten gold nugget.

Through the observation window of the Time Crystal, Locke saw humanoid armor made of condensed lightning floating around the void warship. Each of these humanoid armors had a magnetic storm eye on its back, and they were draped in cloaks made of condensed lightning.

The communication arrays throughout the void warship emitted a notification: "Gentlemen, the Sun Chasing Silver Shuttle has encountered an attack from the remnants of the Thunder God Palace. Please rest assured."

The situation remains under the control of the daily silver shuttle unit.
