Chapter 57 Holding Hands
Chapter 57 Holding Hands
Sun Li and Liu Shishi got along very well. She felt that the girl in front of her was very pleasing to the eye. The more she looked at her, the happier she became. Her appearance and temperament were somewhat similar to her own. In just a few words, the two were already calling each other sisters.
"Sister Li, is filming difficult and tiring?" Liu Shishi asked Sun Li with a bitter face, a hint of longing and a hint of confusion.
Reflecting on her years as an actress, Sun Li sighed, "Modern dramas are alright, but filming period dramas and action scenes is really tiring. Being suspended by wires and such requires a lot of skill and physical strength."
"Ah, is wire work difficult to learn? I've never learned any of that," Liu Shishi said with a serious expression and furrowed brows, her voice filled with worry.
Sun Li asked in surprise, "Why are you learning wire work? Are you an actor too?"
Liu Shishi nodded, "I want to be an actress. I'll be joining a film crew soon, but this one is set in the Republican era, so I probably won't need to use wire work. But I guess I'll have to in the future."
Sun Lixin asked excitedly, "Are you a student at the Beijing Film Academy?"
Liu Shishi's accent had a Beijing accent, and she looked quite young. Anyone who could send their students out to act so early was most likely from the Beijing Film Academy, so Sun Li assumed that Liu Shishi was her junior from the same school.
Liu Shishi shook her head. "No, I'm a student at the Beijing Dance Academy. I was recently selected by a director to prepare for filming, which is why I wanted to switch careers and become an actress, but I don't have any background in this area."
"Oh, Shishi, don't worry. Usually, for scenes that require wire work, there are martial arts instructors or similar staff who will provide you with professional training. However, as a graduate of the Beijing Dance Academy, you still have a long way to go before becoming an actress without any foundation."
Although Sun Li was a little disappointed, she still comforted Liu Shishi and told her to put her mind at ease.
"Brother Song, are you also from the Beijing Dance Academy?"
Compared to Liu Shishi, Sun Li paid more attention to Song Ci, after all, this woman's appearance was really outstanding, she was the type who was blessed by God.
Back then, her senior Huang Xiaoming was able to get into the Beijing Film Academy just because of his looks. Song Ci's temperament and appearance are even better than Huang Xiaoming's. She can attract fans and become popular just by her looks.
“Song Ci didn’t study at the Beijing Dance Academy; he studied at Peking University.” Liu Shishi’s tone revealed a strong sense of pride, as everyone in China knows the prestige of Peking University.
Sun Li was taken aback for a moment, then realized what he meant and praised, "Well, Brother Song is not only handsome, but also very knowledgeable. He's truly outstanding."
Sun Li ultimately didn't voice his desire to help Tangren Media recruit Song Ci. Compared to artists with uncertain futures, Peking University students were the pride of heaven, with bright prospects, and it would be a waste of their talents to become actors.
Having given up on recruiting Song Ci, Sun Li settled for second best and asked Liu Shishi tactfully, "Shishi, do you have a management company on your contract?"
"No," Liu Shishi replied honestly and simple-mindedly.
Sun Li's eyes lit up immediately. She wanted to recruit Liu Shishi, a girl whose temperament and appearance were similar to hers, into Tangren, so as to fill the vacancy left by Liu Shishi's departure.
She felt that Liu Shishi was very talented, so she tentatively asked, "Why don't you join my company, Tangren Media? Tangren is a leader in period dramas and has produced many excellent TV series. Actors can access more film and television resources when they have the support of an agency."
"Let's talk about that later. Tangren's resources are limited at the moment."
Before Liu Shishi could speak, Song Ci's clear and cold voice suddenly came. He was afraid that Shi Ye would be tricked by Sun Li and would blankly say "Okay, okay" and agree to join Tangren Company.
Liu Shishi glanced at Song Ci, seeing his serious expression, and knew he didn't want her to join Tangren Media, so she had to abandon the idea that had just arisen. Miss Liu winked at Sun Li, sticking out her little tongue mischievously, her meaning clear: she would follow Song's arrangements.
"Let's exchange contact information, Shishi. We'll be in the same industry from now on, so we can exchange ideas more often. If I come across any roles that suit you, I'll let you know."
Sun Li could tell that Liu Shishi was somewhat interested in joining Tangren, so he planned to add her contact information first and then talk to her in detail when Song Ci was not around.
Ms. Liu was naturally delighted and added Sun Li's phone number, hoping that she could introduce her to some roles.
As the sun set, Sun Li bid farewell to the two men after having dinner and then drifted away.
In the golden autumn season, the sky above Hengdian is ablaze with brilliant, dreamlike light, reflecting on the earth like a colorful painting. Song Ci and Liu Shishi are leisurely walking back to their hotel.
Pedestrians lined the roadside, chatting and laughing. Liu Shishi moved slowly, occasionally stealing a glance at Song Ci walking beside her.
As she swung her arm, her fair hand occasionally brushed against Song Ci's hand, and she felt his warm skin, creating a slightly ambiguous atmosphere.
Song Ci paced back and forth, talking to herself: "Shishi, were you just about to agree to sign with Sun Li for Tangren Media?"
"Wooden head!" Liu Shishi muttered, lowering her head and looking sullen.
Song Ci belatedly noticed that Shi Shi had suddenly lost interest, so she stopped and looked at her. "What's wrong, Shi Shi? Are you unhappy?"
Liu Shishi bit her lip lightly, her eyes met Song Ci's, her gaze like water, her emotions intertwined. She felt her heart was about to leap out of her chest, the pounding so loud that she could barely hear anything else. Suddenly, she mustered her courage, grabbed Song Ci's hand, and pulled him forward without looking back.
Song Ci stumbled as the poet suddenly grabbed her hand, exclaiming in surprise, "Shishi!"
The warmth of fingertips conveyed the stirrings of the heart. This moment of holding hands became Liu Shishi's most beautiful memory—a gentle breeze, a sunset, a heartbeat, something irreplaceable.
With a sudden realization, Song Ci understood Shi Ye's feelings. The girl's initiative made her chuckle. She pulled Shi Ye back from his hurried walk and they intertwined their fingers, their palms filled with deep tenderness.
Miss Liu lowered her eyelids, a slight shyness appearing on her face. Her delicate pink cheeks were slightly flushed, and her smiling lips were even more charming. She opened her mouth slightly and said, "Song Yiyi, once we hold hands, we can't let go. This is our agreement."
Song Ci held Shi Ye's smooth little hand tightly, and the corners of her mouth gently lifted, outlining a gentle smile that exuded an irresistible kindness and warmth.
"Holding hands is actually very simple, it only takes a little courage. What's precious is holding hands with the same person all the time. As long as you don't let go, Liu Shishi, I will keep holding your hand."
"Hmph, this young lady will not let go." Liu Shishi leaned her head on Song Ci's shoulder, her voice firm and resolute, each word revealing courage and determination.
As the sun sets, the two figures lean closely together, strolling hand in hand through the streets of Hengdian. A gentle breeze blows, creating a scene as beautiful as a poem, full of warmth and romance.
As they walked and chatted, Liu Shishi said happily, "I really like Sister Sun Li. It would be great to act with her."
