Chapter 189 The person was found
My new book has been released. It concludes with chapter 187. Dear readers, welcome to my new book. Thank you very much.

Blue waited quietly in Beta's office. He had already found out the whereabouts of the Frank family's youngest son and was preparing to report.
Beta pushed open the office door and walked in, gesturing to Blue: "Have a seat."
He casually hung his suit jacket on the walnut coat rack.
Blue took a stack of neatly bound documents from his briefcase, placed them on his desk, and tapped the bottom of a page with his fingertip: "The Frank family's youngest son has been kidnapped. According to our informant, it was neither orchestrated by the Frank family nor done by the Fabio family. It was done by the 'Hellhounds'."
Beta's fingertips traced the document, the paper rustling softly in his hand: "You mean, someone wants to use a borrowed knife to kill? To incite the Frank and Fabio families to fight each other? And to also weigh in the weight of me, the new head of the Antonio family?"
"I can't make a judgment on that yet." He turned to the last page, revealing a warehouse floor plan marked with a red circle: "But the location where the people are being held has been confirmed. Should we intervene directly, or should we notify the Frank family to handle it themselves?"
Beta closed the file and tossed it back onto the table. The paper slid across the smooth, painted surface and stopped in front of Blue: "Of course, I'll handle it. Since I promised to take full responsibility, I'll make sure some people understand who should be writing the story of New York's underground order."
Beta tapped his fingertips lightly on the table: "That's the end of it. The payment will be deposited into your account on time."
-
The mute man knocked three times softly on the door, and after receiving permission, he pushed the door open and entered: "What is it, boss?"
Beta looked up from the pile of documents and pointed to the leather sofa opposite him: "Sit."
The mute man sat down on the sofa, watching Beta open a drawer and take out an ebony cigarette case. The lid clicked open softly, and he pulled out a slender cigarette and handed it to him, the rich aroma of the thin cigar immediately filling the air.
Beta lit a cigarette, and the flame of the gold lighter shot up.
The mute man took the cigarette: "Don't you not smoke?"
Beta held the cigarette between his fingers, and wisps of smoke rose into the air.
He turned to the floor-to-ceiling window, where the neon lights of New York City flickered in the darkness: "Sitting in this position is very stressful. You always need something to release that stress. But let's not talk about that. Have you met those 20 people?"
The mute man twirled an unlit cigarette between his fingers: "I've seen them. Make simple arrangements for them to settle down. All 20 people will be dispersed, in groups of four, and will only contact me directly. They will not gather or meet normally. We'll only call them together when needed."
Beta nodded, cigarette ash falling onto the document: "Go to the hotel wine cellar to get the weapon in a bit."
He gently blew away the cigarette ash: "Equip all 20 men with bulletproof vests and automatic weapons. I have a mission for you to carry out."
The mute woman lit a cigarette, the orange glow illuminating her profile: "Okay, what's the mission?"
Beta picked up the document left by Blue and handed it to the mute man: "Take a look."
The mute man flipped through the documents: "Save someone?"
A smoke ring escaped from Beta's lips: "Hmm."
The mute man tapped his fingertips on the sofa armrest, making a rhythmic tapping sound: "Okay. When do we move?"
The ash from Beta's cigarette fell softly into the crystal ashtray like snowflakes: "Those 20 people."
The smoke rings he exhaled slowly spread through the air: "Have you received team tactical training?"
“Obviously not,” the mute man said. “They are all loners and are used to acting alone.”
Beta stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray with a soft hiss: "Give them a day to get used to each other and learn how to cooperate."
The mute man nodded: "Understood." "If you can rescue the hostage unharmed, bring him back. If you can't rescue him, or if you accidentally maim him, let him die there. Don't bring back a half-dead person who's an eyesore."
"His unharmed state is the generous gift I returned to the Frank family. If he were crippled, it means the kidnappers had already killed him. In short, it has nothing to do with us, understand?"
The mute man nodded solemnly: "Understood."
There was another knock on the office door. The door slowly opened, and Katalia appeared in the doorway.
She changed into a champagne-colored silk shirt with a bow at the collar, paired with well-tailored black trousers.
"Hi, Jasmine," Katalia greeted the mute man, her diamond earring sparkling.
The mute man stood up and nodded in acknowledgment: "Hi, Katalia."
Beta turned to Katalia: "What is it?"
"John and Matilda are here from Italy," Katalia said. "Matilda is on summer vacation and wanted to come back to see you. You haven't seen each other for months."
Beta walked to the door and said to the mute man, "Go and arrange the manpower first. I'll wait for your good news."
The mute man nodded: "Okay, don't worry."
Katalia watched the mute man's figure disappear around the corner of the corridor, then asked softly, "What happened?"
Beta wrapped his arm around her shoulder, his fingertips able to feel the warmth of her skin beneath the silk fabric: "It's still about the Frank family. Someone is secretly interfering and causing trouble. I've sent the mute to lead a group to rescue the kidnapped youngest son of the Frank family, and then we'll deal with those troublemakers slowly."
A bolt of lightning suddenly flashed past the window, briefly casting the shadows of the two figures onto the floor. The distant rumble of thunder slowly approached.
The two walked into Weston's office while talking. Since Beta came here, Weston has made fewer public appearances.
According to the rules and contracts passed down through the High Table Council, Beta not only enjoys higher authority at the Continental Hotel in New York, but also represents the Antonio family's absolute authority on this land.
Weston clearly didn't care about these things, focusing only on the core matters within his responsibilities—maintaining the Continental Hotel's absolute neutrality and upholding order in the underworld.
The rest of the time, the old man would retreat to the hotel’s private wine cellar or sit on the terrace overlooking Central Park, smoking a cigar.
Beta and Katalia entered Weston's office, where Weston was sitting at his antique desk, wearing silver-rimmed reading glasses, his gold pen lightly sketching on a leather Sudoku book.
Matilda stood beside him, pointing to a square: "This should be filled with a 9!" As she spoke, a pearl hair clip glittered slightly in her long hair.
The girl who used to wear denim shorts and Doc Martens has transformed and become much more ladylike.
Matilda wore a light blue cashmere dress with lace trim, polished white leather shoes, and a delicate gold necklace.
John sat in a single sofa, a half-burnt cigarette between his fingers.
The smoke swirled around him, forcing him to squint. When he saw Beta, he tried to stub out his cigarette butt, only to cough lightly, choking on it: "Damn, I forgot how pungent this stuff is."
