Chapter 240 The Deal, the Narcotics Enforcement Team
Chapter 240 The Deal, the Narcotics Enforcement Team
Brian still remembered Old Pigeon's instructions: to lure these people into the union, and once they were in the union, they would truly be one of their own.
Vince was the first to object, "Screw it, I don't have the patience to drive a slow truck around Los Angeles with a box of goods."
Others were not very optimistic either.
"There's no chance someone will come and steal our truck."
"We're a biker gang, what's a truck to us?"
"Aren't you afraid your car will flip over in a car accident?"
"And how much can you make driving a truck? 60,000 yuan a year?"
In an era where even police officers earn only around 50,000 yuan a year, truck drivers' income, while decent, isn't particularly high.
Motorcycle gangs, on the other hand, can make hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of yuan from a single robbery.
It's obvious what makes money quickly.
Faced with everyone's doubts, Brian shook his head and said, "If you want to continue doing what you're doing, then there's nothing more to talk about between us. Old Pigeon can protect you once, but he can't protect you countless times. Besides, by stealing trucks, you're going against Old Pigeon."
Everyone fell silent. Luca was the chairman; stealing his truck was indeed suicidal.
Brian: "I'm just offering a suggestion. Don't forget what Old Pigeon does. If you follow him, he won't treat you badly."
Mia chimed in, agreeing that she now preferred a stable life and didn't want to see her family and friends take any more risks.
That's not worth it.
“Dom,” Mita advised, “it’s not about the money, it’s that we can’t keep taking these risks. I don’t want to see you in prison one day.”
Torreto was a little flustered for a moment. His original intention was to continue doing what he used to do, as long as he didn't rob Old Pigeon's truck. The biker gang could rob other things.
But no matter what you steal, it's definitely illegal, and if you get caught by the police...
"stop fighting!"
Torreto raised his hand to stop everyone's argument, "Let's finish the old pigeon's business first."
Koreatown, Los Angeles.
This is where Ramon's headquarters in Los Angeles is located.
This area is rife with biker gangs and rampant drug trafficking, turning into a psychedelic paradise at night.
Giselle got out of the car, went into a bar, and made her way to her office on the top floor.
Pushing open the door, Ramon was chatting with an elderly man with gray hair—this was the double Ramon had arranged to accompany him to the transaction.
Those guys want to see Braga, right? Just give them a scapegoat.
Upon Giselle's arrival, Ramon asked a few questions about the preparations for the transaction, then said, "Giselle, you'll come with me to the transaction. Those two bastards stole my goods and now I have to pay to get them back!"
"it is good."
Giselle agreed, but her eyes were fixed on the teacup on the table, and then she scanned other items in the room that might leave fingerprints.
She wanted to collect some fingerprints to give to Luca.
However, criminals don't need fingerprints; only officials would collect such evidence. She had a vague idea that Luca was going to hand over the fingerprints to the authorities.
Then, considering the subsequent transactions—this was a setup targeting "Braga".
Gisele couldn't help but sigh that Luca's methods were too insidious, getting the authorities involved meant they were determined to completely eradicate Ramon's drug trafficking route. The authorities definitely had the ability to block the entire drug trafficking route, something the gangs couldn't do.
After giving her report, Gisele turned and left the room. She waited in the bar for a long time until Ramon left. Then she returned to the room, collected fingerprints, and quickly left the scene.
Giselle then secretly went to a coffee shop and handed Luca several items with fingerprints on them, such as wine glasses, documents, and empty cigarette boxes.
“Luca, you can’t cooperate with the police on this,” Giselle warned. “Ramon has connections in the police department. If you hand these things over to the police, Ramon will know in a second.”
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Luca reassured her.
Luca might not be able to trust any other police officer, but he trusts Vincent and Jack's character.
Giselle was still quite worried, and Luca was also curious, "Who is Ramon's collaborator in the police station?"
Giselle shook her head: "I don't know, he never lets me get involved in this."
Such strict secrecy can only mean the other party is in a very high position of power, and Luca can only lament that the Los Angeles Police Department is utterly incompetent. It's truly rare to find such upright individuals as Vincent and Jack.
The two chatted for a while longer, and Gisele said worriedly, "If Ramon is arrested, will I still need to testify? Luca, I don't really want to deal with the police."
"No need, this evidence is enough."
The police have a fingerprint database, but they haven't been able to confirm Braga's true identity until now. With this evidence, plus Luca's intelligence, it's only a matter of time before Ramon's identity is exposed and he is arrested.
Unless he abandons the $6000 million worth of goods and flees back to Mexico overnight.
Then Luca would be even less polite.
Within the United States, the methods need to be slightly gentler, but in the chaotic land of Mexico, violence is almost the only option left.
The US government has no law enforcement authority there, but Luca doesn't need this thing.
Regardless of the process, whether Ramon is caught or killed, Luca must cut off this drug trafficking route for him.
Once Ramon falls, the gangster situation in Los Angeles will undergo some subtle changes, and the area will become even more chaotic.
A new round of war is about to begin.
The night of the transaction.
Torreto and Brian arrived at the agreed-upon trading location, a dock in Los Angeles, where there were many containers.
Meanwhile, the police were hiding inside some of the shipping containers, constantly observing the situation at the scene.
A few moments later, six or seven more vehicles arrived at the scene, and more than a dozen armed gangsters got out of the vehicles.
The two sides were on the verge of a fight from the very beginning.
Ramon gestured for his men to put down their guns and asked Toretto, "Where's my cargo?"
Brian turned around and opened a box on the ground, but it was empty.
“Do you want the goods?” Brian stared at Ramon. “We’ll see Braga, and you’ll see the goods. That’s our agreement.”
"Don't worry, Braga is a man of his word."
Ramon turned around and waved, signaling for the puppet to appear.
After many years, "Bragga" has finally revealed his true colors.
Inside the container, Vincent and Jack stared at the puppet on the monitor screen, both with excited expressions.
"All SWAT officers, prepare for action!"
Vincent directed into the microphone, "Bragga has appeared, wearing a gray suit. Move out immediately!"
Jack asked, "Sir, we haven't received any news from the fingerprint database yet. We're not sure if this is Braga?"
Vincent persisted: "Let's catch them first!"
Jack: "But we still lack evidence."
Vincent patted Jack on the shoulder. "That's why I said you're not cut out to be a detective. At times like this, if you still demand 100% evidence, you'll miss out on a lot of great opportunities."
He pressed the microphone again, "Everyone, listen to my instructions, immediately!"
"and many more!"
Another police officer spoke, saying urgently, "I received word that the narcotics squad is here too!"
"What?" Vincent's expression turned ugly.
He hadn't told the anti-drug team about the deal at all, so what were those bastards who were protecting drug dealers doing here?
Is it
A sudden sense of foreboding rose in Vincent's heart, and he roared, "Action! Immediately, right now!"
However, it seemed to be too late. Several police cars had already appeared in the surveillance footage, all belonging to the anti-drug unit. Without saying a word, these police officers immediately surrounded the entire scene.
Seeing this, Vincent knew that tonight's events were destined to be difficult to resolve.
