Chapter 4 SSR!
Without a doubt, Stan had to die.
It wasn't just because Stan had offended the Lucchese family. If Stan continued his madness, he might provoke Leon and Mathilda, leading to a series of tragedies, and ultimately resulting in his own demise alongside Leon.
This is something Luca absolutely cannot tolerate.
Just like that, my rare card was ruined?
What a simple assassin Leon is! He's strong, obedient, and doesn't even take "rewards" for his kills—if Luca remembers correctly, all of Leon's earnings from his killings are kept by the middleman, and he only keeps a small portion for his daily living expenses.
Luca certainly didn't want such a frugal and thrifty assassin to be killed by Stan.
I'm so envious of other people's skills!
I, Luca Greco, the Peace Ambassador, love making friends!
I, the Peace Ambassador, will save Leon and the little girl's fate!
It's a shame about Stan's two skills.
Stan

[Learning Requirements: Requires a bond level of Close Friend or higher; 50 Skill Fragments]
Stan's S-rank card has two skills.
To be honest, Luca thought these two skills were just so-so, nothing special, but not worth discarding either.
The first skill requires background music to be used, but Luca is a rough guy who can't appreciate Beethoven and Mozart.
The second skill was discovering that the disguise was quite effective. Stan's sense of smell was indeed very sharp. In the original story, Leon was about to escape, but Stan discovered him and shot him in the back.
As for the ability to detect drugs, he's not a narcotics officer, so what use is that ability?
The main problem is that these two skills cannot be learned.
Want to develop a close friendship with Stan?
It's no longer possible.
Because Luca is a member of the Lucchese family, there was already a conflict between them; and given Stan's suspicious and neurotic personality, how could he possibly trust him and become such a close friend?
What a joke.
For dangerous characters with whom a bond cannot be developed, Luca either keeps his distance or eliminates them to maintain peace.
For example, there's a mental hospital in Pennsylvania that houses a psychiatrist who likes to eat people.
Luca doesn't want to deal with extremely dangerous characters, even if they are SSR cards.
You treat people as friends, but they treat you like food.
How about some grilled pig brains?
The next day, afternoon.
Inside a pizza shop in the Bronx.
While eating, Luca asked the two guys, "How much do you know about Stan, this narcotics officer?"
This mission is a bit complicated; we not only have to kill people, but also retrieve the lost goods.
“He’s the DEA’s team leader,” Jimmy explained. “He has several narcotics agents under him.”
"Damn cops! That guy's a drug dealer!" Henry cursed. "If I'd known the DEA took in drug dealers, I would have joined them as a cop."
Jimmy scoffed, "Stan knows better than us how to double-cross people. He sells the seized drugs to other people right away."
"That guy is one of the biggest drug dealers in New York. Many gangs get their drugs from him."
"The main thing is that it's very safe to work with him. You don't have to worry about the police coming to your door, and the transaction is guaranteed."
Luca: "."
The biggest drug dealer in New York is actually with the DEA? Very good, very good, as expected of America.
Why should Old Bai come to New York and work with Stan? Why stay on the Mexican border and have a love-hate relationship with Gus Fry?
He looked at the two guys eating pizza and gave them a friendly smile: "You two find someone to investigate and see which gangs Stan is working with."
Luca instructed, "Also, check with Stan and those police officers to see where they kept the drugs. They couldn't have kept them at the DEA, could they? There should be a safe house where they store the drugs."
Jimmy nodded and said okay.
Henry exclaimed excitedly, "Are we going to rob them? Right? They seized so many drugs, let's take them and make a fortune!"
Henry's eyes lit up. This was something he was good at. He and his two buddies had made their fortune through robbery and extortion, and they even dared to rob airports.
Luca's smile grew even more amiable.
They're truly admirable guys who dare to rob people on the street, even at the airport. For that kind of courage, Luca has to give them a thumbs up.
Two days later, one morning.
Inside an apartment building in the Bronx.
A commotion arose in the hallway. Matilda curiously pushed open her door and looked at the apartment across the hall.
At the entrance, a group of renovation workers were working, carrying brand-new furniture into the rooms.
You already have new neighbors?
Matilda looked puzzled.
Yesterday, the old lady across the hall moved out overnight, and when she left, she happily stuffed a big bag of snacks into her hands.
So quickly, someone moved in today. Looking at all those exquisite designer pieces of furniture, Matilda couldn't understand how such things could appear in a slum.
Why aren't you at school yet?
Suddenly a stern roar came from behind, and Matilda turned around to see her father's fleshy face.
"Did you skip class again?" Norman shouted. "I prepaid a year's tuition so you could study properly, not hide at home and smoke! The school calls me every day, asking me to bring you to school! If you miss another class, the school will confiscate all the tuition I prepaid!"
A hint of annoyance flashed in Matilda's eyes, but she said nonchalantly, "Then why don't you take me there?"
"Don't you have legs?" Norman said impatiently. "Don't test my patience, get your ass to school!"
"I've forgotten the way."
"Then go back to your room and do your homework!"
"finished."
"Really?!" Norman's face was filled with anger. "Then go help your sister clean this damn house!"
He raised his hand and slapped his own daughter without any mercy.
Matilda instinctively closed her eyes, but after waiting for a long time, the familiar burning pain did not come.
She opened her eyes and saw a tall, handsome man standing beside her, who had grabbed her father's wrist, rendering him unable to move.
"Can you please be quiet? I don't want to be kept awake by my neighbors on my very first day in this new place."
Luca wore a gentle smile as he looked at Matilda. "Is this guy some distant, wicked relative you haven't seen in years? In my memory, only those wretched relatives would be so mean to a child."
Matilda couldn't help but laugh.
Norman yelled, "I'm disciplining my own son, what's it to you? Let go!"
After struggling to no avail, Norman reached into his waistband with his other hand and pulled out a knife, attempting to threaten Luca. However, as soon as he handed the knife over, Norman felt a blur before his eyes and a sharp pain in his wrist. The knife was already in Luca's hand.
"FU"
Looking at the knife pressed against his neck, Norman swallowed the rest of the words.
Beside her, Matilda looked at Luca in surprise, seemingly not expecting this seemingly gentle man to be so powerful; she hadn't even seen how the knife was taken away.
Luca rubbed his temples. "I have very poor sleep quality; even the slightest noise can wake me up. I don't want to be disturbed by my neighbors while I'm having a sweet dream."
He noticed the bruise on Matilda's forehead and the cut on the corner of her mouth, and his gaze toward Norman suddenly turned cold.
“I have many bad habits. Besides having poor sleep quality, I can’t stand seeing other people hit children! This isn’t the first time you’ve hit a child, but remember, this is the last time! If you dare to lay a hand on them again, I promise this knife will slit your throat before the child even cries!”
The cold knife slapped Norman's face. The father, who often abused his children, was so frightened that he dared not move. The other man's cold gaze seemed sharper than a knife, stabbing his cheek painfully.
"Did you hear me clearly?" Luca tightened his fingers slightly.
"I...I understand." Norman felt the coldness on his neck, his voice trembling. "I promise I will never hit the children again."
Looking at his pathetic state, Luca felt nothing but disdain. If this guy weren't Stan's informant and drug custodian, Luca would have killed him right now.
In order to uncover more information, Luca decided to let him live a little longer.
Besides, the little girl is watching from the side.
Norman only breathed a sigh of relief after Luca turned and walked through the opposite door.
Seeing Luca disappear, the pent-up anger within Norman erupted once more, and he raised his hand again, shouting, "You son of a bitch!"
"You go ahead and fight."
Matilda stared coldly at her father: "I'll tell him everything, and you can just wait to be killed!"
She was utterly disappointed in her father, and she wouldn't feel sorry for him even if he died. In this dysfunctional blended family, the only person she cared about was her 4-year-old brother.
Norman's slap didn't land in the end. He cursed several times in a fit of rage and stormed into the house in a fit of impotent fury.
Twelve-year-old Matilda curled her lips in disdain, took out a cigarette she had stolen from her father from her pocket, and walked to the room across the hall, knocking on the door.
With a cigarette dangling from her lips, she leaned lazily against the doorframe and looked at the handsome man who opened the door. "Uncle neighbor, could I borrow a light?"
You stopped a domestic violence incident and made Matilda's father wary; you upheld peace within your neighbor's family.
