Chapter 3 The person who shouldn’t be there
Once outside, Jiang Guier originally wanted to call Qian Xin to go and take a look, but through the half-open car window, she could immediately see the obvious green light on Qian Xin's face.

Jiang Guier turned and walked alone towards the riverbank behind her.

After walking a few steps along the riverbank, I saw a person squatting by the river, fiddling with something using the instruments in his hands.

She took out her phone from her pocket and started filming.

The man in the video has a tall and straight posture. His dark blue long-sleeved shirt has no special logo, but it looks very expensive on him. It perfectly accentuates his muscular physique, making people want to find out more.

He squatted by the river, fiddling with some strange instruments. The sunlight fell directly on his profile, making his jawline clearly visible.

"Hey, what are you doing!" Seeing that the evidence had been collected, Jiang Guier jumped out with her phone in hand and questioned loudly.

The man turned around at the sound and saw a woman in an elegant cheongsam against the backlight. The wind made her hair flutter. He was momentarily stunned, squinted his eyes, and adjusted to the light before he could see her face clearly. She was beautiful and gentle with a touch of glamorousness. Her brows were slightly furrowed, she held a camera in her hand, and her eyes were full of scrutiny, with a hint of fierceness. She looked like someone who was not to be trifled with.

"Hello, I'm here to collect water samples for water quality monitoring," Shen Huaizhou replied politely, standing up as he scooped up the water quality testing bottles he had collected.

"Don't move! You're not allowed to move!" Jiang Guier shouted, trying to stop him. Who knew if he might suddenly have some bad intentions?

"What gives you the right to be here? Which organization do you work for? Do you have any relevant credentials? Show them to me."

Faced with a barrage of questions, Shen Huaizhou was momentarily stunned, then a hint of embarrassment appeared on his face; he had no identification.

He remembered he had photos of his ID on his phone. "I didn't bring my ID with me today, is a digital copy okay?"

“Electronic ID cards can prove personal identity now, so why can’t physical documents?” Shen Huaizhou retorted, trying to change the other party’s mind.

Jiang Guier's suspicions about him had been gradually decreasing, but the embarrassment on his face when she mentioned needing to see his identification made her wary again.

If someone seems guilty, there's definitely something wrong.

She stepped forward and said, "If you can't show me your identification, I'll call the police." With lightning speed, she grabbed the water quality testing bottle from Shen Huaizhou's hand.

This is crucial evidence; we must get our hands on it.

Jiang Guier's eyes darted around, and she stomped hard on Shen Huaizhou's leather shoes.

"Ouch!" Shen Huaizhou cried out in pain as he released his grip.

Before her eyes, a strange man rushed towards her, his strikingly handsome face drawing ever closer. Jiang Guier, however, felt no desire to appreciate him; she only wanted him to go faster, faster, even faster…

She stretched out her fingers forcefully, her fingertips taut and straining, trying to get the other person to hold her. Just as their fingers touched, she hadn't yet felt the warmth emanating from the other's fingertips.

Jiang Guier fell into the river along with the water quality testing bottle she was holding.

"Are you alright?" Shen Huaizhou quickly jumped into the river and pulled the person up.

Jiang Guier finally managed to stand up, but the moment she fell into the water, the pressure of the water enveloped her completely, making her unable to move.

Although she was pulled up, her eyes were slightly lowered, and the water in the river only reached her thighs.

Seeing the girl struggling to climb ashore in a disheveled state, Shen Huaizhou wanted to help her several times.

Qian Xin finally got the brand to agree. When she got out of the car and started imitating people, she heard a sound behind her. She followed the sound and saw this scene.

She hurriedly took off her north-facing sun protection coat and draped it over Jiang Guier, covering the cheongsam that clung to her body after falling into the water.

The two of them wore long faces.

Shen Huaizhou climbed ashore, put away the equipment, and seeing the girl's pale face, couldn't help but ask, "What happened?"
