Chapter 43 Clues
Jiang Guier stared at the computer screen; the bright red account was abnormal.

Her entire demeanor was like a volcano about to erupt, her beautiful, long eyebrows tightly furrowed. Such a serious and troubled expression was rarely seen on her face.

She was wearing a Chanel suit dress today, the classic pearl buttons gleaming coldly. The elegant and sophisticated fashion couldn't outshine her downturned lips.

"What kind of mess is this? How did it get like this in just a few days? I haven't been paying much attention to you guys and you've already caused such a huge uproar." Jiang Guier slammed her phone onto the table.

"Sister Gui'er, don't be angry. We've pretty much figured out what happened." Qian Xin held a tablet in her hand, ready to report at any moment.

Today, she came alone. To put it nicely, it's because she's a personal assistant and has been busy with these coordination tasks. But the main reason is that she lost rock-paper-scissors.

"Go ahead and tell me," Jiang Guier said, crossing her arms and waiting for Qian Xin to explain.

"Actually, the main reason is still the fire misunderstanding caused by you frying steak at home two weeks ago. It's because that person in your neighborhood has been harassing you. He found your account, and after we deleted and blocked it, he hired marketing accounts to attack you and kept calling 12345 to complain about you."

Jiang Guier sat up straight instantly. "It was just a tiny spark. A basin of water was all it took. We didn't even call 119. It just turned out that the water and oil had a violent chemical reaction, producing a lot of smoke, which looked unsightly."

She was utterly speechless. "Why is this guy so persistent? Is he just bored at home? Who is this bastard? I'm going to curse him out in the property management group chat."

Qian Xin quickly stepped forward, grabbed Jiang Guier's hand holding the phone, and pleaded, "Sister, this isn't some trivial matter. Think about it, who would get their inbox flooded with complaint emails like Black Friday orders just for making steak? This is clearly someone staking out the place with a magnifying glass—probably because they see how lucrative your recent advertising deals are and want to add some 'human touch' to your life."

She sighed and slumped onto the sofa, the folds of her haute couture suit seemingly filled with helplessness: "Fine, one day of lockdown is fine, as long as it doesn't have any lasting impact."

"We will try our best to minimize the impact. We've also arranged for marketing accounts to monitor the situation online," Qian Xin said, looking at Jiang Guier with some concern.

Seeing her hesitant look, as if she wanted to speak but dared not, Jiang Guier sighed, "Just say what you have to say. Aren't you afraid of suffocating yourself by keeping it to yourself?"

"I think... I just think so." Qian Xin tried to revise her words, her voice tinged with a cautious probing, "Should you mention this to your mother...?"

Jiang Guier instantly turned around like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Her exquisite eye makeup made her eyes appear even larger, and now they were wide open, her pupils filled with disbelief. "Qian Xin, are you out of your mind? What nonsense are you spouting?" Her tone was full of resistance. "First of all, you're an employee of my company, and we'll find our own solutions to problems. Secondly, I am me, and my mother is my mother. Why should you always turn to my mother when I'm in trouble?"

Jiang Guier spoke in a cold tone.

"Sister Gui'er, please don't misunderstand. I just think your mother's company's legal department is very professional and can help us avoid some problems. We've never dealt with this situation before," Qian Xin explained hurriedly.

As Jiang Guier listened to Qian Xin's words, her brows furrowed deeply. At first, her beautiful eyes were filled with doubt, but slowly they began to show signs of alertness.

She felt a sudden jolt in her heart, as if something had flashed through her mind so quickly that she couldn't grasp it.

She looked down, and the glint of the buttons on her Chanel suit caught her eye. She suddenly remembered that no matter what trouble she encountered growing up, it was always her mother who stepped in to help her solve it.

This was true in the past, and it seems to be a trend now as well.

She seems to have always lived within the safe zone created by her mother, and has never been truly independent.

Jiang Guier looked up at Qian Xin with a complicated expression, her tone carrying a hint of bewilderment she herself didn't realize: "You mean... all of this has happened because of Mom?"

Upon hearing this, Qian Xin turned pale and looked at Jiang Guier, who was jumping up and down in an explanation, "No, don't misunderstand, that's not what I meant, I just mentioned it casually."

Looking at Qian Xin, whose expression was panicked and tinged with fear, Jiang Guier felt an even stronger unease. But she didn't say anything more, instead comforting her, "I know you've never been exposed to this kind of thing before, so the pressure might be a bit much. It's okay, let's try it first. I won't blame you. Let's get started."

As she saw Qian Xin off and closed the door, the smile on her lips vanished.
