Hogwarts: Dumbledore reigned over the wizarding world
Chapter 9 Platform 9 and 43
Chapter 9 Platform Nine and Three Quarters
In the early morning, Mrs. Weasley's roar continued to echo in the Burrow.
"Percy! Percy! Where are your robes and your cauldron? And what's with all these packets full of letters? Clear them away!"
"Fred! George! How many times do I have to tell you! You're not allowed to bring these weird candies to school. Take them all away!"
"Ron! What time is it, and you're still sleeping? Get up quickly and check your luggage again. If I don't see you coming down in five minutes, I'll throw you into the pond and lock you in the cellar. Don't even think about going to Hogwarts to study!"
"Merlin's beard, one day I'm going to be pissed off to death by you!"
"You really should learn from Vaughn. He packed everything two days in advance. Not only did he have to bring school supplies, but he also had to bring a bunch of potions and ingredients. It was so tiring..."
Molly wiped her eyes, and then the next moment, she saw something and waved her wand angrily: "Come here, Scabbers!"
A fat rat squeaking flew in from outside the door, was caught by her strong hands, and stretched out its legs with a squeak.
"Ronald Weasley! Where are your eyes? You can't even keep an eye on your own mouse... Oh, Guoguocha, my little cutie, if I hadn't seen you chasing it, I would have almost lost it. Come here, mommy has some dried fish~"
"Meow~"
The chaotic situation lasted for more than two hours. After Molly checked again and again and made sure that everyone had brought everything, she heard the sound of car horns outside the door.
Molly took the lead, helping Vaughn carry the box of potion ingredients, and her sons followed behind.
As they walked out of the gate, they saw a car parked in the open space in front of the door. Arthur Weasley stood in front of the car, patting the roof proudly: "Hurry up and get in the car, children. Daddy will take you to the station using Muggle methods today!"
Of course, an ordinary car could not accommodate so many people, but as a wizard, even if he worked in the "Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department", don't expect Arthur to follow the rules.
There was a shed next to the Burrow that was used specifically to store it. Arthur had been trying to modify it all summer, and occasionally Vaughn, Fred, and George would go to help him when they had nothing to do.
The car's compartment and trunk were both cast with a traceless extension spell, leaving a huge amount of space inside.
Arthur even tried to make it fly, but it's not done yet.
The family put their luggage into the spacious trunk and got into the car in a hurry. Molly's roar almost never stopped during this time - naughty Fred and George were fighting and quarreling, Percy was upset because his mother threw the letter away, and Ron was hugging Scabbers tightly, kicking his legs and yelling at Fruit Tea to go away.
Almost every moment, one could hear their screams of pain as Molly twisted their ears.
Arthur turned a blind eye to all this.
He turned the key excitedly and started the car while looking at the operating instructions and map.
Vaughn sat in the passenger seat, speechless.
"Dad, can you drive?"
"Of course, of course I will. I've practiced for at least three days... Oh, Vaughn, help Daddy figure out what this means? Clutch? Release it? Gear? How do I adjust it? Oh, oh—unbelievable, magical Muggles!"
Ten minutes later, the car had driven less than 50 meters...
Vaughan, unable to bear it any longer, kicked him out of the car, cast a Muggle-Repelling Charm on the car, and got in the driving seat himself.
Although his son had taken away his happiness, Arthur, with his childish personality, didn't care at all.
"You're worthy of being my son, the genius of the Weasley family! Dad knew you also liked Muggle things. Don't worry, son. When you come back from vacation, Dad will definitely learn how to drive it, and then take you for... what do Muggles say? That's right! For a ride!"
Vaughn rolled his eyes at him.
The car sped along, and thanks to the Muggle-repelling charm, they weren't stopped by the police. However, by the time they arrived at King's Cross Station, it was already 10:30. The family then hurriedly got off the car and squeezed into the station, searching for Platform Nine and Three-Quarters amidst the dense crowd. Percy, who had been in a bad mood ever since the letter was thrown away, complained from the throng, "Too many Muggles!"
"Silly boy, this is a Muggle station, of course there are a lot of Muggles."
"There! The third pillar!" Ginny, who was sitting on her father's shoulder, found the target with her sharp eyes.
The whole family squeezed over quickly.
"Percy, you go in first... Very good, Fred, it's your turn!"
"I'm George, Mom!"
"Oh - sorry, baby, Mommy made a mistake."
The twins smiled mischievously, and "George" playfully put his mother's face close to his. "Actually, I'm Fred, haha——"
He pushed the cart in laughing all the way.
Following behind Molly and Arthur, Vaughan looked around at the oldest station in Britain.
This was his first time here, and to be honest, he was a little disappointed.
Perhaps because it was built too long ago, all the facilities are very old and many places are dilapidated. Only the big arch still retains a trace of its former glory.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a figure sneaking up behind them, pushing a cart piled with luggage and an owl cage.
It was a little boy who seemed to be malnourished, short and thin, wearing a pair of broken glasses and looking dull and stupid.
Compared to him, Ron, the bully in the family, is tall, strong, smart and lively!
The boy also noticed that Vaughn had noticed him, and stood there at a loss, as if wanting to come closer but not daring to.
He nervously wiped the sweat from his forehead, revealing a lightning-shaped scar.
The moment he saw the scar, Vaughn knew who this silly boy was - Harry Potter!
The legendary Boy-Who-Lived.
"Hurry, Vaughn, you're in line in front of Ron... Oh—" Molly, who was turning around to call Vaughn, also noticed Harry Potter. Of course, his scar was now covered by his hair, and Molly did not recognize him.
But an isolated child undoubtedly inspired Molly's maternal love.
She quickly waved Harry over and said, "Child, are you also a freshman this year?"
"Yes... yes, ma'am." Harry rubbed his hands nervously on his trouser legs. "Platform nine and three-quarters, ma'am. I don't know where it is or how to get in..."
"It's okay, kid. Look over here. There's a ticket booth at the third pillar between platforms nine and ten. Push your luggage cart and head straight for it."
Harry followed her instructions in a daze, closed his eyes, trembled, and rushed towards the pillar as if he was committing suicide, and then disappeared.
Vaughan followed behind, jogging all the way, without any obstacles and without feeling anything. Vaughan only felt that his eyes darkened for a moment, and when it brightened again, he saw a crimson steam locomotive parked next to a platform crowded with passengers.
A sign on the train carriage reads:
Hogwarts Express
