Otherworld Bone Dragon Operation Guide

Chapter 29 Who will God spare?

Chapter 29 Who will God spare?

Su Ming wasn't sure if his parents knew he was a murder suspect. The police might question his parents about his whereabouts, but they might also try other methods—something he truly had no experience with.

Su Ming didn't know what to do.

"Are you in a bad mood?" Violet asked.

Instead of communicating via telegram, she assembled a wheelchair herself, took a book, and came to the deck.

"You can only stay for 10 minutes, and you can't be exposed to too much wind."

“Just sunbathing,” Violet said.

Su Ming glanced at her fair, almost translucent skin; it was clear she hadn't been in the sun for a long time.

Su Ming walked back to the studio, took out a tube of sunscreen from his suitcase, and handed it to Zi Jin. "Just apply it to your body and face, spread it evenly, and it will block ultraviolet rays."

The girl took it curiously. "That technique that blocks UV rays but allows you to sunbathe is too complicated; I can't use it." She opened the sunscreen. "Haven't you opened it before?"

“I bought it for my mother,” Su Ming replied, telling Zi Jin about his family on Earth. Over the years, since Su Ming started working, his family's life had visibly improved. Su Ming had originally planned to take leave from the factory during the upcoming off-season to travel to the beach with his parents—their last trip was before he was born.

However, this is what happened. Now he has come to the ocean of another world alone, while his parents are in another world, worrying about him.

Zijin leaned back in her wheelchair, her thoughts drifting, "A sad story."

"Is there a way to make the skeleton make a sound?" Su Ming asked.

“Galio’s Scout Hunter has this ability; all he needs to do is write it into the drive rune,” Violet replied. “Go find his magic notebook, the one with number 11; it has details there.”

"Watch the time, don't stay on the deck for too long," Su Ming instructed the girl. "You'll get your injection later."

Su Ming returned to Zi Jin's library and found Galio's notes, which the scholar had mentioned, among the stack of books on the floor.

He opened his notebook and turned to the section on the Scout Hunter. Galio had made many changes to the original version and drawn detailed configuration diagrams.

According to the annotations, the little spiky head is a deformable skull, and the illustrations include the referenced component library numbers. Su Ming then retrieved the "Component Library" book from the pile of books, opened it, and found the corresponding section according to the numbers.

Galio referenced a total of 243 component parameters and three views.

He immediately closed the book, "Sorry to bother you!"

Continuing to look at Galio's notes, the little rascal's soul core can load different rune codes to activate corresponding functions, including those related to voice.

Following the instructions in the notes, Su Ming input the rune code for the voice function into the little rascal's soul core and activated it.

He sensed that the structure of some components in the little rascal's throat had changed, and a magic circuit had been built and linked.

"Hello?" Su Ming spoke. The troublesome kid on Earth also spoke at the same time; the voice was that of a young woman, possibly Miao Xin.

He took out Miao Xin's phone, downloaded a voice-changing app, and tweaked it to make his voice sound like his own. Then he connected to a proxy, logged into a cloud platform for a webcam, and connected to his home webcam.

At lunchtime, both elders were present, eating their meals facing each other across the table, in silence.

"Mom and Dad, it's me," Su Ming called out through the camera's voice function.

The two rushed to the camera, "Mingming, why can't we get through to you on the phone for so long? The factory says they don't know where you are!"

Su Ming made up an excuse that he was away on a business trip and his phone had broken.

“The police are looking for you. They say you’re involved in an economic case,” Su Ming’s father said. “Now that you can contact them, go find them quickly.”

"Hmm." Su Xiang thought for a moment and continued, "Dad, I've been implicated in something, and it's suspected of being illegal." "Ah—how serious is it?"

"It's a bit big, and it's not completely clean yet."

"...Did you really break the law? How serious are the consequences?" the mother asked.

“Mom and Dad, I’m innocent,” Su Ming said. “I’ve thought of a way to clear my name, but it will take time. But believe me, I will resolve this matter within a year at the latest.”

The two elders fell silent for a moment.

"Dad, I won't be able to contact you often during this time, and I won't be able to work at the factory for the time being," Su Ming said. "But everything will be alright. I'll let you know every now and then and tell you about the progress of things."

"Please take good care of yourself! If anything happens, don't panic, we'll figure something out together!"

"Ok!"

After finishing his call home, Su Ming disconnected from the little troublemaker and instructed Miao Xin to remain vigilant. He got up to check on Zijin's condition in the hospital bed, but his legs gave way and he almost fell over.

Su Ming reached out and touched his body in confusion. It seemed a little hot.
Over there, Zi Jin was sitting on the bed, holding a notebook and Su Ming's ballpoint pen, writing a paper titled "Observations on the Invasion of Native Organisms by an Alien Virus".

"This pen works great," she said, but then noticed that Su Ming seemed a little off. "What's wrong?"

Su Ming sat back down in his chair and began taking his temperature. Sure enough, he had a fever, over 38 degrees Celsius.

"Are you sick?" Zi Jin put on her slippers and walked over. "Let me see." She reached out and formed a spell, and three completely different body probing spells surrounded Su Ming.

Then a colorful patch appeared on Su Ming's body.

"Oh ho, you're like this too." Violet's expression was calm, but she uttered words of schadenfreude.

Su Ming sighed; he and Zi Jin were simply sworn enemies. While the virus he carried was extremely deadly to girls, the same was true for Zi Jin, who was completely defenseless against it.

Fortunately, his immune system was strong enough that he didn't fall ill at the same time as Violet, otherwise his journey in the other world would have come to an end.

The scholar brought out her notebook and began taking notes based on the feedback from the procedure.

"Would you like me to give you my bed, fellow patient Su Ming?"

"That was originally my bed!" Su Ming said irritably. He activated the White Bone Mark and rearranged a hospital bed for himself next to it.

Zijin had her skeleton servants put up soft cushions on the bed and bring over a blanket, so Su Ming climbed up and lay down.

After the procedure, she glanced at the recorded list. "There's a lot!"

"Aren't you skilled in light magic? You can save me, right?"

"I think we can save them—right?" Zijin was also a little uncertain. "I rarely use techniques to remove diseases. I need to check these spectral characteristics first to see what kind of viruses they are."

She had her skeleton servant bring over several books, and she flipped through the spectral records for quite some time before finally stopping.

"Dr. Zijin, what was the result?" Su Ming asked anxiously.

“The good news is that these are all routine, documented illnesses,” Violet replied. “They can be resolved in two days.”
