Chapter 29 The First Lesson of Entering Society

Upon entering the union hall, Haven was surprised to find that even at this hour, there were still many people inside.

Several bronze chandeliers were burning brightly, illuminating the entire hall as if it were daytime. The smell of aged pine resin, rust, and other strange odors mingled together, creating a peculiar aroma. Standing at the door, Haven couldn't help but sneeze several times.

After taking a few deep breaths and getting used to the smell, I walked towards the center of the hall, where adventurers dressed in various outfits were standing in small groups, looking at the blackboard hanging on the wall.

Staff members kept coming over to update the task information on the blackboard. After looking it over, they walked towards a round bar not far away.

Behind the bar, a girl with dark brown hair was engrossed in writing something. Hearing someone approach, she asked without looking up:

"Accept a mission or assign a mission?"

"Hello, I'd like to ask if there are any caravans heading to the capital."

"The consultation area isn't this way; turn right at the entrance."

He looked up impatiently and pointed to the platform behind the door.

"Hey~ wait a minute, what did you just ask?"

He had originally planned to leave and go ask at the location the girl pointed out, but when he heard the girl call him, he stopped in his tracks.

The girl quickly brushed her hair, which had become messy from work, aside, and blushed as she smiled at Haven.

"Hello, I'd like to ask if there are any caravans heading to the capital?"

Haven, who was being stared at by the girl, thought there was something on his face. He reached up and touched it, but found nothing. He then asked the distracted girl again.

"Hello? Do you?"

The girl, whose thoughts had been interrupted, looked visibly flustered, and the blush on her face became even more pronounced.

"Yes, yes, let me check for you. What's your name? My name is Lina."

Halfway through his speech, he suddenly remembered what his teacher had told him and quickly changed his words.

Haven took a black iron sword and shield badge and thirty silver coins from his pouch and handed them to the latter.

"Alright, this is your adventurer's badge. It has a bloodline array on it. You can activate and bind it by dripping a drop of your blood. You can then use this badge to accept subsequent quests."

Haven picked up the badge and book and was about to leave when the bearded man called him back.
