Chapter 63 Infiltration (Please continue reading)

Haven nodded in satisfaction as he looked at little Lori sitting comfortably in the tree.

"We'll be right back. You hide well up there."

Lori tugged at the rope tied around her waist; it looked quite sturdy, but her face was still full of worry as she called out to Havent under the tree:

“Mr. Will, why don’t I go with you? I won’t cause any trouble.”

"No, if a fight breaks out, I don't want to be distracted by taking care of you. You can't even beat a goblin. Just behave yourself."

"What if I need to use the restroom?"

Looking at little Lori, who looked like a puppy, Haven shook his head helplessly.

"You can just stand on the tree and pee."

Okay, we're leaving now. Don't drop the food bags, or you'll have to come down and get them yourself.

Watching the two figures leave, little Lori, sitting on the tree trunk, curled up her legs and hugged her knees like a left-behind child quietly waiting for the adults to return.

At Haven's request, Serena gave up floating and followed closely behind Haven, crouching as they made their way to the outer perimeter of the magic tower.

"Huh, these goblins can grow herbs? Shouldn't these disgusting creatures have shit for brains?"

Not hearing a reply, Haven turned to look and saw that the girl's eyes were glazed over, as if she was lost in thought.

"Hey! Don't get distracted, let's continue our stealth combat. By the way, do you know any silent killing magic?"

Seeing that the girl didn't quite understand, Haven pointed in that direction.

“Look, there are goblins standing guard over there. If we go in openly, those guys will definitely make a racket, and that will give the crow witch inside time to prepare.”

But if you have that kind of sneaky magic, we can kill those green goblins one by one, and then give that ugly raven hag a surprise, you know what a surprise is?

Listening to Havent's long, rambling speech, Serena nodded as if she understood, then stretched out her delicate white hand and pinched the goblin a dozen meters away.

As if an invisible blade had sliced through, the head and neck of the green goblin standing beside the rock were severed. Haven was so shocked by this scene that his mouth gaped open.

"Holy crap, what is this, Serena, teacher! I want to learn, teach me!"

Hearing Haven's praise, Serena proudly raised her head like a well-fed kitten, then remembered Haven's question and looked at him seriously.

"No, you can't learn it. Your magic power is too low."

Hearing Serena's words, Haven was not discouraged. After all, such a high-level attack was definitely not something a low-level mage like himself could handle.

"It's okay, it's okay, you can learn it later. Come on, follow me. Since you really have such amazing skills, this will be much easier. I'll tell you which one to kill, and you kill that one."

Serena crouched behind Haven and nodded obediently. The two of them began to stealthily sneak along the stone wall surrounding the mage tower.

"Over there, over there, can the two of you go together?"
Pretty!

Come on, let me throw a rock to lure it over before you make your move.

Milked to death!

Those two on the right-hand wall.

Let's go, let's continue...

A dozen minutes later, the two stood in the courtyard, which was devoid of any living creatures. Looking at the headless goblins scattered around them, Haven nodded in satisfaction.

"We're really strong, aren't we, Serena?"

When Haven asked her the question, the girl nodded obediently.

Haven looked around to make sure nothing was missed, then walked towards the underground door of the mage tower. He squatted down at the doorway, tugged at it but nothing happened, and looking at the iron lock in front of him, took two iron bars from his spatial ring and poked them in.

Two minutes passed, and Haven pressed his face against the door, listening intently to the click of the lock. He felt Serena patting his shoulder and saying without turning around:

"Almost there, almost there. Serena, I read a novel about thieves written by a bard before, and I even went to the scouts in the legion to learn from them. I can open this kind of lock in just five minutes."

Feeling Serena still patting his shoulder, Haven turned around and looked at her with a puzzled expression.

"What's wrong, Serena?"

The girl didn't answer Haven's question. She stretched out her hand towards the door lock, and with a flash of white light, the door lock seemed to be weathered, turning into a pile of iron filings that fell to the ground.

Haven looked down at the iron bar in his hand, then at the large hollowed-out iron gate, and scratched his head awkwardly.

"I recognize this spell, it's the Disintegration Spell."

"Um, well, hehe... um... let's go in."

After entering through the underground door, I crouched behind a stone pillar and peered inside. The interior was surprisingly large, even though it looked like a small cylindrical tower a few meters tall from the outside.

"Why is there so much water here? It shouldn't be like this. Did they leak the groundwater? Serena, did you come in last time?"

The girl squatting to the side shook her head.

"No, Serena fought with that crow hag outside last time. That crow hag was dismembering a human at the top of the tower."

"I see. It seems we'll have to sneak up. You follow behind me, and we'll continue using the same method as before."

Wait a minute! There's a noise, someone's coming.

Just as Haven was about to get up, he heard voices coming from the opposite steps.

"Ms. Celia is getting more and more agitated lately; how many times has this happened today?"

"I don't know, I didn't dare count. The screams from the top floor are giving me nightmares, let me tell you."

Haven peeked over and saw a man and a woman dressed in dark gray mage robes standing on the steps not far away, talking quietly. Listening to their conversation, Haven decided to wait and see if he could hear any useful information.

"I want to escape. There are only a few adventurers breaking into the dungeon left, and no new adventurers have come recently. Ms. Celia's experiments have not been successful. I'm afraid that if things continue like this..."

At this point, the female mage patted her still rather firm chest with lingering fear.

"Do you want to run away with me?"

The male mage hesitated upon hearing the female mage's words, and said to her with some difficulty:
"Lady Celia has placed a tracking array on us; it's no use running away."

Hearing the male mage's words, the female mage curled her lip in disapproval.

"That old hag, I don't know if you've noticed, but the way she looks at us has changed lately. Under the influence of that tentacle, she's gone mad now. Who knows, one day those mercenaries might turn on us when they've run out of ideas."

Seeing that the male monk was still hesitant, the female monk thought for a moment and then said:

"That old hag killed so many mercenaries and adventurers. Maybe they've already started investigating this matter. That silver-haired girl who suddenly appeared that day might be a member of the Magic Judgment Committee."

If we don't leave now, and something even more powerful comes, we'll be executed as accomplices.

Upon hearing this, a glint flashed in the male mage's eyes, clearly indicating his agreement.

"So what do you suggest we do now?"
