Chapter 71 Heilgen
Chapter 71 Heilgen (Please continue reading)
Five days had passed since the battle at the abandoned magic tower in the Misty Forest. After a long journey, the three finally crossed the Misty Forest and arrived at the outskirts of a small town, looking at the roadside sign that read 'Helgen'.
Haven took the map out of the ring, checked it against the map, and then put it away.
"We made the right choice; we've now left the northern border and arrived in the province of Volft."
Of the three, Haven and Lori looked like refugees. Because the Crow Witch had set up a mesmerizing array to lure adventurers, Haven and Lori plunged headlong into the depths of the Misty Forest when they escaped. Even after successfully defeating the corrupted Crow Witch, the three lost their way and didn't know how to get out.
With no other option, Haven could only resort to the most primitive method: having Serena fly into the sky to guide them. After much trouble, they finally emerged from the forest and followed the road for another half a day before arriving at a small village. After a short rest in the village, they followed the village chief's directions to the nearest town.
Will, I'm hungry.
Serena, her feet slightly off the ground, held an empty juice bottle in her hand, her little head still pondering how Will had suddenly learned mind control, and how she could no longer directly take those delicious things out of the ring.
Haven shook his head helplessly upon hearing Serena's words. Serena looked so slender, how could she eat so much? If it weren't for the strange things that suddenly appeared in his mind, including theoretical knowledge about space magic, which he had applied to enhance the ring's magical effect, and then Serena taking more food, he would have had to go hunting in the last two days.
"The town of Helgen is just ahead. I remember the adventure guide said that there are a lot of Ironhorn Deer in the wild here, so Helgen's roasted whole deer is very famous. I'll take you two there to eat later."
Glancing at little Lori beside him, who was using a wooden stick for support, I couldn't help but think to myself, 'This one's eaten quite a lot too!'
Helgen is located at the border between the North and the Central Province. Every year, a large number of caravans pass through the town, making its commerce exceptionally prosperous. The three followed the caravan into the town, and listening to the bustling noise, Haven couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and complain again.
'These past few days have really exhausted me. Serena seems so powerful, yet she couldn't carry two people. I just don't understand it.'
With no other option, they had to walk with Lori. It was quite a walk, and Haven felt that the soles of his feet were covered in hard, calloused skin. He would have to go to the public bathhouse for a good soak later.
A dozen minutes later, the Deer Antler Hotel
"Boss, are there any rooms available?"
The innkeeper, standing behind the wooden table, sized up the three of them and said with a smile.
"Yes, sir. Our Deer Antler Hotel is the best hotel in Helgen and can provide you with convenient services at any time."
After speaking, he glanced at each of the three people, and finally looked at Havent.
How many rooms do you need?
Haven turned his head and looked around. He saw the withdrawn child and the distracted girl, and sighed deeply.
"Three? Are there any three connected together?"
The hotel owner looked down and flipped through the registration book.
"Yes, sir, but only the deluxe rooms are left. The price might be... what do you think?"
Haven, who just wanted to get some rest, didn't care about anything else and waved his hand...
"Okay, I'll take it. How much?"
Seeing that Haven didn't seem to care much, the hotel owner secretly breathed a sigh of relief and quickly took out three keys.
"Two silver gros per room per day, I'll charge you a total of six silver gros."
Hearing the price, Haven raised an eyebrow. It wasn't cheap; he'd only spent 70 picks a night in Riverwood. Looking up at the inn's decor, it seemed better than the Sleeping Giant Inn.
The innkeeper, noticing Haven's scrutinizing gaze, assumed the young man had noticed his overstated price and was about to explain when Haven spoke up:
"Sure, here's 6 silver coins. Also, can I take a bath here?"
The innkeeper, relieved to receive the silver coin from Havent, immediately replied with a broad smile:
"Some guests, we recently opened a bathhouse in Helgen. I heard that the owner used to work at a large bathhouse in the capital. I went there once, and it was absolutely wonderful."
"Tsk tsk tsk, I don't know where the owner found such a group of girls, their little hands are so soft and tender, after they massage you, oh my, it really relaxes all the bones in my body..." As he said this, the hotel owner's eyes narrowed slightly, as if he was reliving that wonderful experience.
"Oh dear, I'm sorry, I've been talking too much. If you don't want to go upstairs and just want to shower in your room, we also offer that service. A staff member will bring the bathtub up to you."
Listening to the innkeeper's introduction, Haven was somewhat tempted. Looking at the cumbersome items on either side, he decided to go upstairs first and worry about it later.
"Where are our rooms? And is there anything else to eat?"
"Peter! Peter! Come here and take the guests to the guest rooms on the third floor!"
What would you like to eat? Here's a menu; you can take a look. Tell the waiter what you'd like in a moment.
Haven nodded to the owner and followed the waiter up the stairs. Watching the group go up, the innkeeper picked up his aluminum glass and took a sip.
'Hey~ a few rich kids who've read too many adventure novels. They're really generous, spending two silver coins all night without batting an eye. They'll get swindled out of all their money sooner or later.'
The next moment, as if he had thought of something, he quickly walked towards the kitchen.
"Borpa, Borpa, go get the venison from the cold storage, hurry up and get moving, you old worm!"
After following the waiter up to the third floor, the three of them found their room at the end of the corridor on the right.
"Let's rest for a bit first, and I'll call you what you want to eat later."
"Okay, sir. If you need anything, just pull the rope next to the door and a waiter will come up."
After saying this, he bowed to the three of them and went downstairs.
"Alright, you two each have your own room. Here's a menu; take a look at what you'd like to eat, and we'll have the waiter bring it up later. I'm going to lie down on the bed and rest for a bit first."
He opened the door and went inside. It has to be said that although the price was a bit high, the space was quite large and the environment was quite clean. While looking around the room, Haven began to take off his clothes.
"Hey! How did you get in here? Your own rooms are right next door."
Haven, who had just taken off his shirt, was about to turn around to close the door and take off his pants when he saw the two people who followed him in. He was startled and quickly put his belt back on.
"Will, I'm hungry. I want something delicious to eat."
He glanced at Serena, who had zero social skills, then turned to look at the awkward little Lori.
"And what about you, Lori?"
Lori clasped her hands back and forth in shame.
"Mr. Will, I have no money..."
Upon hearing Lori's words, Haven seemed to remember something and slapped his forehead.
"Damn it! You're a human being too. It makes me angry. Why didn't you take out the money when you buried Ximoya?"
Hearing Haven's disappointed words, little Lori became even more exasperated and whispered:
"You didn't say you were going to take it out~"
