As you can tell from the synopsis, this book will be very long, spanning multiple worlds. In each world, I have a lot of things I want to write about and ideas I want to share.

To prepare for this book, I bought a whole bunch of books, including Southeast Asian history, the East India Company, monopoly and free trade, the economics of piracy, the Dutch East India Company, and the rise of Western colonies. I also bought books on the Southern Ming Dynasty, various academic papers and documents, not to mention books like Water Margin and Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

I can say that I made a great decision and made full preparations.

But since I'm a newbie, I'll write a longer version of this first chapter, with a timeline of about two years, ending with the collapse of the Soviet Union.

During this break, I need to find the rhythm of the novel and prepare all the necessary materials, background information, and complete the framework for the next world, which is themed around Western colonial warfare and rural development in Southeast Asia.

I happened to be there when Yuewen changed its recommendation rules for new books.
