Chapter 17 Exposed

Chapter 17 Exposed
Northern Zion Military District, 45th Armored Brigade.

The tracks of the Chieftain tank rolled over the sand dunes. Captain Elizer Cohen wiped the sweat from his brow and adjusted his headphones, but all he could hear was a piercing electrical static.

"Still can't get in touch with command. Damn it, we must be out of radio range." He slammed his fist on the armor plate and turned to the driver, shouting, "Keep moving! Maintain formation!"

The original mission of the 45th Armored Brigade of Zion was to break through the central Euphrates and cooperate with the 8th Brigade to encircle the forces of Al-Iraq. However, due to the overly aggressive charge, Elize's crew deviated from the planned route.

At this point, the tank crew couldn't even tell which way to go, and the navigation system had failed, so they could only ask for directions by grabbing the tank's tongue.

Fortunately, the Chieftain tanks had thick enough composite armor, and they even crushed an infantry company in Al-Ilag along the way.

"Captain!" the gunner suddenly shouted, "There's a sentry post at ten o'clock!"

Elize squinted. In the distance, the outline of the sand dunes revealed several low concrete fortifications.

He abruptly pulled back into the turret and roared, "Load armor-piercing shells!"

Half an hour later, Elize sat on the collapsed machine gun emplacement, with a row of prisoners kneeling before him.

Captain Elizer looked at the soldiers kneeling before him. Their uniforms didn't seem to belong to Al-Iraq's soldiers, but it didn't matter. He'd already fought them; as long as they were Arabs, he hadn't made a mistake.

Captain Elizer only spoke Hebrew, so he found a corporal who could understand Arabic to translate what the prisoners were saying.

"Ask them where this is?"

The prisoner was babbling something in English, and after listening for a while, the corporal replied, "Sir, he said this place is Shuangzhi."

"Double Will?" Captain Elize was taken aback, not expecting that they had fought their way to Double Will, which meant that they had traversed the entire Al-Iraq.

"Ask them for the radio."

After the corporal translated, soldiers among the prisoners immediately raised their hands and led them to retrieve the radio.

The prisoners quickly brought over a piece of equipment, along with a case of glass-bottled Coca-Cola bottles bearing the United States logo, with condensation droplets sliding down the sides.

Since the United States began trading oil with Shuangzhi, many new things from the West have been introduced to the country, and Coca-Cola is one of them, which is very popular among soldiers on the front lines.

"They found it in the outpost's warehouse. They even had a refrigerator!" the corporal laughed. "I didn't expect these country bumpkins to know how to enjoy life."

Elize grabbed a bottle, the icy touch sending a shiver down his spine.

He opened the bottle cap, eagerly took a big gulp, and felt as if he had been revived.

"Everyone take a break!" he said, holding up a bottle. "One bottle for everyone, finish it and get back to work!"

Amid the cheers of the soldiers, Captain Elizer switched radio channels and began reporting the situation to his superiors.

Upon learning the news, Brigadier General Shao Si frowned deeply at the 45th Armored Brigade Command.

"There are no United States troops stationed at the northern outpost of Shuangzhi? Could it be that the United States only supported the front lines in the Tabuk region?" He looked up at his adjutant, sensing something was amiss: "Have Captain Elizer question the prisoners at the outpost again to find out what's going on!"

Zion's forces operate in separate systems, and they do not communicate their intelligence with each other. In addition, the battle lines are advancing too fast, and often the intelligence that was just tens of minutes ago is outdated by the time it reaches another unit.

Brigadier General Shao heard the news from Major General Vesdak, the commander of their Northern Military District. The Supreme Command had ordered all troops not to provoke any friction with Shuangzhi.

"Brigadier General, Captain Elizer has sent a reply claiming that he has not received any information from the Shuangzhi soldiers about UN armored force assistance!" the adjutant hurriedly reported.

"you sure?"

The adjutant nodded, indicating that he had confirmed it several times. Brigadier General Shaw immediately understood, his face turning grim: "Damn it! There are no United States troops at all! Call headquarters in Tel Aviv immediately!"

Major General Yeshavishin put down the microphone, pressed his fingertips to his temples, and felt a momentary turmoil in his mind from the latest intelligence.

The 45th Armored Brigade in the north has captured the border post on the Zhnyedev border.

Even before that phone call, he had been increasingly convinced that the United States' armored forces were a decoy. If the United States were indeed stationed at the Nurkor Hill outpost, the 101st Squadron would have been shot down by anti-aircraft guns before even reaching the designated airspace!
They deliberately let them take pictures!

"Damn it, I've been tricked!"

But it's too late to say anything now. This seemingly simple trick has delayed them for a full forty-eight hours, enough time for the Tin Armored Forces to capture the two Golan Heights!

If it hadn't been accidentally discovered, Shuangzhi might have actually been able to wear the "tiger skin" of the United States and safely get through the war to the end!

Major General Yesavishin was filled with regret, but he quickly adjusted his mindset and began to formulate a battle strategy: "Notify Brigadier General Ger of the 38th Division to quickly reorganize an armored force and capture the Tabuk region. This time it has been confirmed that there are no United States troops in Shuangzhi, so tell him to fight with confidence!"

"Also, notify the fleet in the Gulf of Jacob to stand by in the Red Sea!"

Lu Lin is on patrol.

The SCR-270 radar can only detect aerial targets and cannot detect armored forces on the ground, so during this period he hung himself in the air as a human radar.

He had never let his guard down since the day he fooled Zion's aerial reconnaissance.

The terrain near the Nukoshir outpost is characterized by sand dunes and salt flats, with a valley running across the northern part of the outpost, making the terrain uneven.

Just then, he saw a distorted phantom emanating heat waves in the distance, followed by an inverted pentagonal mark lighting up above the phantom's head.

Armored forces!

Lu Lin's neck hairs stood on end.

Then he saw two green inverted triangles not far away. They were soldiers from the reconnaissance platoon of the outpost, riding in a patrol vehicle. He recognized one of them; I think his name was Hassan.

He quickly picked up the radio to call the two men back immediately: "Patrol! The radar is showing an anomaly. Turn back immediately!"

An excited, tense voice came through the radio: "We've spotted Zion's forces! Tanks we've never seen before! They have six-pointed stars on their side armor!"

Then came a loud bang, and the radio went silent.

Lu Lin quickly switched back to the eagle's perspective and found that the green marker was gone. The spot where the two scouts had just been had turned into a smoking sand pit, and the wreckage of the patrol car was scattered in the thick smoke like torn pieces of paper.

Lu Lin immediately got goosebumps all over his body and immediately sounded the alarm.

"Woo——!!"

The piercing alarm blared throughout the camp, and Lu Lin shouted over the loudspeaker: "Zion's attack is coming! Prepare for battle!"

The first commander to rush in was Major Bandar, who shouted, "Lieutenant Colonel! Sultan Armored Company is assembled!"

After the troops were reorganized, Lu Lin did not cancel the original armored unit designation, but instead retained them at the company level, continuing to be commanded by Major Bandar. This was to ensure that they could exert their due combat strength.

"Our disguise has been exposed!" Lu Lin didn't waste any more words: "The enemy's attack is fierce, and this time all that awaits us is a clash of blood and iron!"
