Chapter 46 The Strong Men
Chapter 46 The Strong Men (Part Two)
Captain Joseph expressed his understanding: "If it weren't for those damned Zion devils starting the war, who would willingly sacrifice themselves on the battlefield?"
Lu Lin looked the great dictator who would later leave a significant mark on the Middle East and even the world up and down. Right now, he seemed to be just an ambitious young man.
However, based on the history that Lu Lin had experienced, Captain Joseph would overthrow Idris's regime, abolish the monarchy, and establish the Arab Lirvia Republic within a few years.
Of course, the republic was merely a pretext for his grand dictatorship.
“This is the rest area for the ministers from various countries. If you’d like to listen to their conversation, please feel free.” Captain Joseph handed Lu Lin a cigarette. “But our officers have their own salon, where there are cigars and military maps. Perhaps we can even play some billiards.”
"Table tennis?"
"It's a game where you hit plastic plates into holes, didn't you know? I thought the prince of Shuangzhi would be very good at this."
“I’m a little different from the other princes.” Lu Lin took a drag of his cigarette and glanced at the old men who were already chatting. Just listening to their tone of voice made him drowsy. “But I have a good learning ability. Maybe someone can teach me.”
"That's great!"
Captain Joseph led him into the next room. The dim lighting and swirling smoke made Lu Lin mistakenly think he had entered a bar.
The imagined scene of playing billiards did not materialize; instead, a group of Arab officers were arguing heatedly on the sand table.
Lu Lin listened for a while and realized that they were discussing how to effectively deploy against Zion's blitzkrieg tactics.
"Gentlemen!" Captain Joseph clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention: "Let me introduce the Lion of Nukoshir—Major General Amir ibn Mohammed."
A tall general ripped his hat off his balding head, his eyes wide as saucers: "Are you Lieutenant Colonel Amir, the one guarding Nukhshir?"
Lu Lin: "Yes, I am now a major general."
The tall general muttered, "This is unbelievable! You don't even look twenty, my grandson is almost your age!"
At this point, the two officers who had been arguing stopped, and one of them, a colonel with a short mustache, said, "Now that the defense expert is here, why don't you tell us how to deal with the Chieftain tank's wedge attack?"
Lu Lin thought to himself, "This is what you guys made me show off."
So he didn't stand on ceremony, took the baton, and began his explanation:
“Taking the Golan Heights as an example, our core defense objectives are to offset Zion’s air superiority, hinder Zion’s ground armored forces, and ensure the survival of our own logistics and command chain.”
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
After half an hour.
Lu Lin took a sip of his now-cold coffee and finished his explanation.
The officers stared at each other, feeling as if they were sitting in a command post listening to the United States staff analyze the battle situation.
Finally, the tall officer spoke up: "Damn it, Major General, which military academy did you graduate from? I want to send all my grandsons there for training!"
Lu Lin recalled for a moment: "Uh, I graduated from Shuangzhi Royal University." "Shuangzhi Royal University?" A lieutenant colonel couldn't help but ask, "Do you still have military training courses? Did you hire retired staff officers from the United States?"
"In fact, most of my military knowledge came from training after I enlisted."
Another captain wearing a wide-brimmed hat raised his hand and said, "Major General, I would still like to hear the details of your command of the battle in Nuksil; it might be more helpful to us."
Lu Lin shook his head: "I have described all the contents in the military intelligence report, and in fact, I have applied the tactics I just mentioned."
If you're curious, go ahead and see for yourself. We're all allies against Zion; I haven't hidden anything.
At this moment, the tall general patted the older man beside him, whose face didn't look too good. The latter, an air force general, had three gold stars and a crossed sword encircled by golden laurel leaves on his shoulder. He looked at the man with a mocking expression.
"Hafez, I already told you there's a way, right? Although you can't withstand Zion's attack head-on, according to Major General Amir's plan, you can at least delay the enemy for another week or so! It won't be as if Zion's ground forces have captured Damascus!"
General Hafiz, his face gloomy, sneered, "You think I don't want to command the battle? This is all due to problems within the government! Those profit-driven lackeys are only concerned with fighting for power; nobody cares how far the Zionians have advanced!"
The Air Force Commander of Surya?
Lu Lin wondered to himself, "Did I just wander into some kind of monster room today?"
He glanced around at the other high-ranking officers, wondering if one of them might be the future president of some country.
Captain Joseph seemed to agree with Lu Lin's military analysis and pondered: "Building anti-tank depth to resist armored forces, using concrete bunkers as infantry strongpoints, and a complete air defense system are indeed good ways to deal with Zion's blitzkrieg."
Zion's tactics are actually very simple: first, use the air force to destroy enemy military bases and seize air superiority, and then use ground mobile forces to encircle and surround them.
This tactic has been used for nearly seventy years and is deeply hated by Arab countries, but it has been effective all along.
Now Lu Lin has given them a solution, which may not be the best, but it has at least given these officers a way to deal with the situation.
“That’s right, this war is not over yet.” A major general stood up: “I carefully read the United States’ interview with Major General Amir, and one sentence in particular stuck with me.”
If we can drag this war out longer, our troops will be honed to a higher level in battle, our command will become more efficient, and Zion's war potential will be exhausted until the gap between us is gradually closed.
As long as we can hold on for longer.
His words drew everyone's attention back to Lu Lin, who also saw the blazing fire in the eyes of these high-ranking Arab generals.
He sensed a signal: although the war had come to an end, the embers might one day reignite.
Just waiting for a single spark to fall.
It's a pity that "On Protracted War" is useless here, otherwise Lu Lin could have shown off in front of this group of people again.
He raised his glass: "For the people, for Allah!"
The other generals also raised their glasses: "For the people, for Allah!!"
