Chapter 6 Something
By the time Lao Wang brought back lunch, Ye Feiyang was already completely engrossed in playing.
The low barrier to entry in "Final Front" played a crucial role at this time. Even though Ye Feiyang hadn't looked at any tutorials, he understood it completely after playing it once.
Moreover, after playing a couple of rounds, he started exploring other features and gameplay elements in "Final Front" on his own, without needing any prompting.
Said it before.
At this point, Final Frontline did not have a story mode.
There are only two gameplay modes. One is the mode Ye Feiyang just played, called "Simulated Battlefront," or, as the official StarCraft name suggests, "Humanoid Auto Chess."
This mode is completely free to play; all the dolls are unlocked for free, and whether players can use them in the game depends entirely on "luck."
The other mode, called "Final Frontline," is a PVE mode.
In this mode, players must use their own humanoid form to fight.
At first, Ye Feiyang didn't feel anything about this PVE mode, but after playing a couple of rounds, he found it quite interesting.
The gameplay of this mode is very simple. The chessboard is the same as the PVP chessboard, except that monsters keep spawning.
However, this simple mode is surprisingly addictive.
On the one hand, this PVE mode borrows a lot of elements from roguelike games.
Secondly, the PVE mode includes some monsters and bosses not found in PVP, as well as changes to four major scenes.
In addition, after each batch of monsters is killed, there will be many random events and random buffs. Furthermore, in the PVE mode, there is also a "gunsmith" system, which is an equipment system.
These details bring a sense of novelty.
Moreover, although the gameplay is similar to the PVP mode, in the [Final Front] PVE mode, players can recruit dolls at their own discretion.
In other words, it will be easier to assemble a team.
Finally, in PVE mode, players can manually adjust the position of pieces in battle and the release of skills, which provides some room for micro-management.
After playing a couple of rounds, Ye Feiyang had to admit, once the lineup was built up, watching the monsters fall one after another was quite satisfying.
So, he turned his head.
Ye Feiyang then began researching the recruitment system.
"Hmm, a pool of humanoid figures? A pool of weapons and equipment?"
"Ten recruitment scrolls will guarantee a 4-star doll, and fifty recruitment scrolls will guarantee a 5-star doll."
"Both PVP and PVE victories will earn you recruitment points. Hmm, 100 points can be exchanged for one card? You can exchange for 10 cards a day, which means you're guaranteed a five-star character roughly every 5 days. That sounds pretty good."
The economy system in Final Front is very simple.
In short, it can be summarized as follows: use the recruitment points obtained from PVP and PVE victories to exchange for recruitment scrolls, and then use the recruitment scrolls to draw dolls and equipment to fight in PVE.
"That's pretty fair. It feels like you can play this game without spending any money."
For veteran players like Ye Feiyang, as long as the in-game rewards can buy in-game items, then the game can be considered fair, even if the rewards are low.
Not to mention, the output of "Final Front" is quite substantial.
In the 8-player PVP, the top 4 players will receive recruitment points. Starting from the third place, players will receive 100 points, and then 120 and 150 points. This means that you only need to get third place 10 times to get 10 scrolls.
It is challenging, but not very difficult.
You can also earn recruitment points from daily game tasks. Although the amount is small, every little bit helps.
And most importantly, although you can only exchange for 10 scrolls per day, the maximum number of recruitment points you can get per day is 5000. This means that players can grind to their heart's content on a day when they have some free time.
Then save it up and exchange it slowly. "It's a good game, I hope I won't change my mind about it in the future."
Ye Feiyang silently labeled this game, which he found to be quite good on his first try.
With the evaluation finalized, the next step is naturally to claim the rewards.
Ye Feiyang casually tapped away the constantly flashing notifications on the screen, indicating that the guided mission was complete and the rewards could be claimed from his mailbox. After a series of actions, thirty brand-new recruitment scrolls appeared in his backpack.
I have to try my luck.
He opened the recruitment interface and his gaze fell on the button marked "Ten Recruits".
Fingertips fall.
The screen went dark instantly, and then Ye Feiyang heard the sound of machinery running.
The scene shows several fully automated production lines. As the camera zooms out, you can see a gun assembly line, a production line for various small ornaments, and then a robotic arm precisely assembling some kind of precision component.
Finally, a chip shimmering with purple light slid out from the end of the production line and hovered in the center of the screen.
Immediately afterwards, three large characters appeared on the screen: "Re-arm."
Three large metallic characters flashed by, followed by a complete equipment display interface appearing in the center of the screen. The screen darkened again, then brightened again, revealing a girl holding an MP40 submachine gun.
"Commander, MP40 reporting for duty."
A clear and earnest voice rang out.
"Although simplicity is my strength, precision and reliability are my essence. Please feel free to entrust the battle to me."
Ye Feiyang stared at the screen, his fingertips still hovering over the spot where he had just clicked, slightly stiff.
This animation…
That's incredibly detailed.
From the precise operation of the production line and the accurate grasping of the robotic arm, to the light effects of chip creation and the detailed display of the characters' appearance, every aspect exudes an aura of "budget burning."
It's important to know that most anime-style games on the market still have gacha animations that are limited to simple light effects or switching between a few character illustrations.
The animation "Final Front: Re-armed" far exceeded his expectations in terms of its smoothness, detailed depiction, and unique industrial aesthetic style.
Is this just a summoning animation for a four-star humanoid? Ye Feiyang could hardly believe his eyes.
This game is pretty good.
His anticipation for the game had quietly increased a bit more; the real skill was in the details, even in such areas, they had put a lot of effort into polishing it.
His fondness for "The Final Front" has quietly increased even further.
Holding onto hope, they simply couldn't stop.
Soon another 20 draws were completed, and after 30 draws, although he didn't get a single five-star character, Ye Feiyang was only slightly disappointed, since the PVP mode was automatically unlocked for all characters anyway.
If all else fails, I can just go to PVP and play a few more rounds.
Just as he was about to play a few more rounds of PVP, a dialog box suddenly popped up in the game window.
