Chapter 615 The Closed Door
Chapter 615 The Closed Door
At 3:30 p.m., Jun Matsue, carrying a paper bag in his left hand, pulled out his key from the deepest part of his pants pocket with his right hand and opened the apartment door.
The air conditioning inside was refreshing, and music from a variety show filled the living room. The boy walked to the dining table, picked up the glass pitcher containing lemon tea, and poured himself a glass. Rounded ice cubes fell into the glass with the reddish-brown, transparent water, making a crisp clinking sound.
Matsue Jun tilted his head back, gulped down more than half a cup, and let out a contented sigh.
He took a mango crepe out of the paper bag, walked over to the girl sitting in front of the TV, and placed the dessert in front of her.
"I brought you afternoon tea."
Mochizuki Haruka first reached out and rubbed the boy's hand before taking the dessert. She unwrapped the box and took a bite of the thin, soft glutinous rice skin filled with mango and cream.
"Did you go to work with Tomatsu today too?" she asked vaguely.
“The schedule has always been like this,” Jun Matsue said without changing his expression.
Although saying this might make Mochizuki jealous, he was really reluctant to change his colleague—today's work was as easy as ever thanks to Tomatsu Yuka's help. Of all the jobs Matsueda Jun had done, only when he was with her could he feel so in sync, relaxed, and comfortable.
The girl rolled her eyes and silently ate her crepe. The boy didn't sit down next to her, but looked around.
Apart from the laughter on the TV, the sound of the air conditioner, and the chirping of cicadas outside the window, there was no other noise.
"Where did Kurusu go?" he asked, looking at the girl in front of him.
Mochizuki Haruka stared at the crepe in her hand, "...in my room."
"I'll go and call her to have some snacks."
Jun Matsue turned to walk away, but her hand grabbed his.
"Just so you know, she's not in a good mood right now," the girl said seriously.
"...Why?" The boy sensed something was wrong.
Mochizuki Haruka blinked. "Because I told her about what we did."
There was a sudden silence on the sofa, and an unexpected surge of emotions welled up in Jun Matsue's heart.
"What happened while I was away?" he asked, his voice weak.
"It's nothing really." The girl's calm demeanor was tinged with a hint of guilt. "It's just that when I came over this afternoon, she kept pointing and gesturing at me, saying that I was seducing you or something."
Even now, with her lower body covered by a T-shirt, she stubbornly insists on wearing only underwear.
"Then I told you about what we had done."
Actually, Mochizuki Haruka hasn't been in a good mood lately either.
To be precise, the girl's mood had been bad ever since the night of the fireworks festival.
Matsue Jun's "favoritism" towards Tomatsu Yuka in front of her made Mochizuki Haruka suddenly realize that this girl's status in Matsue's heart seemed to be getting higher and higher, and seemed to be on par with her.
This won't do... The girl began to feel uneasy.
She was once again eager to drive Tomatsu Yuka away, eager to demand her own love from Matsueda Jun, and eager to show off her far ahead progress in front of Kurusu Yosei.
He was eager to prove that he wasn't always the next one to be prioritized, but rather the one standing next to Songzhi, the one closest to him.
"..."
The boy stood in front of her for a while. Mochizuki Haruka lowered her head and looked at the legs in front of her with some panic—the boy did not move, and his straight trouser legs swayed slightly in the cold air of the air conditioner.
Jun Matsue sighed. "I understand."
"It's okay... It's normal for you to be angry when you hear things like that." He gently patted the girl's head.
"I'll go check on Kurusu."
The boy's footsteps faded into the distance. Wang Yueyao turned her head and watched him pick up the pale yellow dessert from the table and walk into the corridor where the sunlight couldn't reach.
Jun Matsue stopped in front of the first room next to the balcony. He looked at the wooden sign hanging on the door, on which the girl's name was written in a cute way, with a golden star in the upper right corner.
Even knocking seemed a little difficult for him; the boy hesitated for a moment before gently knocking on the door.
"Kurasu? I brought back some desserts."
There was no movement inside. He knocked twice more, but still received no response. Jun Matsue turned the handle; the door wasn't locked. He pushed the door open a crack, waited a moment, and then slowly went inside.
The curtains in the bedroom were drawn tightly, making it extremely dark. The boy walked around the foot of the bed and carefully approached the head of the bed. He didn't see Kurusu Yosei's face—the girl was completely wrapped in a thin blanket.
"Kurusu?"
Jun Matsue asked again softly, but there was no sound from the bed.
The boy had no choice but to put the mango crepe on the bedside table and turn to walk towards the doorway where a sliver of light was peeking through.
As he gripped the doorknob again, he suddenly heard a girl's muffled voice behind him.
"Come back!"
Matsueda Jun turned around, but the undulating bedding on the bed remained unchanged, as if the sound he had just heard was merely his imagination.
But the boy still went back. He stood at the head of the bed, quietly looking at the raised air conditioning blanket in front of him.
The girl's hands, gripping the blanket, were clearly visible in their tight clench.
"Did you really sleep with Mochizuki?" Kurusu Yosei asked through the thin blanket.
"Ah."
"You like her?" The girl's voice was unusually deep.
"If I like her, I will be with her."
“…Oh,” she said casually.
"You can go out now. Don't call me for dinner."
Jun Matsue didn't move; he waited in place for two minutes.
However, Lai Xiyangshi refused to speak again. The girl rolled over with the blanket around her, rolled to the edge of the bed, and then fell silent.
It seemed she really didn't want to talk to him right now. Matsueda Jun turned and left, gently closing the bedroom door behind him.
At six o'clock in the evening, he had dinner with Mochizuki Haruka. Although Lai Xiyou said she wouldn't eat, the boy still brought a dish to her bedside—the mango crepe was lying perfectly intact on the cabinet, and the girl was still facing the wall without moving, as if she was asleep.
Room 507 was a bit quiet tonight; the TV volume was lower than usual, and Mochizuki Haruka was also well-behaved, returning to her apartment next door early.
However, the wooden door with the sign "Kurasu Yosei" remained tightly closed, with only boys occasionally passing by, leaving fleeting shadows on the sign.
It wasn't until 11 p.m., when Jun Matsue was lying on his bed with the lights off, staring blankly at the ceiling, that he heard the sound of a door opening in the next room.
The boy didn't rush out of the room to check. He silently stared at the ceiling, listening to the girl's footsteps. She first went to the kitchen, then paused briefly before returning to the corridor, and finally passed by his door and entered the bathroom.
Then the sound of running water came from the bathroom. After about ten minutes, Jun Matsue heard the sound of a hairdryer.
The girl walked out of the bathroom, her footsteps echoing at his door, then fell silent.
"..." Just as Jun Matsuoka was about to get up, his bedroom door opened.
The soft clatter of slippers entered the room. The boy lay motionless on the bed, his eyes closed, when he felt a shadow fall in front of him.
What if Kurusu had a knife in her hand? Matsueda Jun suddenly remembered this problem—she had just been to the kitchen.
However, what landed on his face was not a sharp kitchen knife, but the girl's hot, moist breath.
Matsueda Jun opened his eyes and found that Kurusu Yosei was already lying on top of him, his hands supporting his cheeks.
The two looked at each other silently, listening to each other's breathing in the darkness.
The girl was only wearing underwear. Her star-like eyes had dimmed a little, but her determined gaze remained unchanged.
“Do it with me.” Yosei Kurusu said each word carefully, his tone extremely serious.
She wants to catch up on all the progress she's fallen behind on.
