Chapter 636 Premonition Fails

Chapter 636 Premonition Fails
As Yosuke Kurusu rubbed his eyes and stumbled out of the bedroom, he heard a faint, sweet female voice coming from behind the door next door.

The lingering sleepiness vanished instantly, and the girl pressed herself against the boy's bedroom door, listening intently to the sounds inside.

At first, she thought it was Mochizuki Haruka and Matsue doing something shady in the room. However, after discovering that the voice coming from inside was something she couldn't understand, such as "domain" and "range," she realized that the female voice wasn't Mochizuki Haruka's, and that there was only a boy in the room.

However, this did not stop her from eavesdropping. The girl changed to a more comfortable position against the door and did not make a sound.

"So the final range obtained from the drawing is like this—" The girl in the room paused, seemingly pointing to the answer.

"It's a pretty hexagon, like a gemstone," she said with a smile.

"I see." The boy seemed to nod. "Yuka explained it very clearly."

The girl smiled, and then the sound of chair legs being moved could be heard in the room.

"I'll go get a glass of water."

"Okay~"

Hearing footsteps approaching him from behind the door, Yosuke Kurusu calmly strode silently toward the bathroom.

Just as Jun Matsue opened the door with his water glass, the girl walked to the bathroom door. She leaned forward and poked her head out, her face displaying an expression of utter ignorance that rivaled that of an actress.

"Was Songzhi just on the phone?"

The boy nodded. "Video call, on the question."

"So diligent...is it with Yuuka-chan?" she asked, adding another unnecessary question.

The boy hesitated for a moment this time, because Kurusu already knew that he was two-timing.

"Ah."

Lai Qiyang pouted and didn't say anything more. She shrank back and picked up the toothbrush cup on the sink.

Looking at the girl in the mirror, she found it difficult to describe the expression on her face.

When Jun Matsue returned to the bedroom with barley tea, the girl on the phone screen on the table immediately looked up and smiled at him as he approached.

Like an AI companion from a science fiction movie... This thought flashed through the boy's mind.

"Mochizuki-san?" Tomatsu Yuka asked with a smile, her eyes glancing slightly upwards as she checked the time.

It's just past 10 o'clock now.

“Mochizuki didn’t stay at the apartment last night.” Jun Matsue sat down again and looked at the question the girl had just explained.

Even after finding the correct answer, Tomatsu Yuka's eyes didn't show much joy.

"Yoshi-san is so relaxed even when he's resting... I thought idol stars were people who went to the gym and took care of their skin first thing in the morning~"

The boy's gaze moved across the workbook. "She used to do that, but she's been a bit more relaxed lately."

"How about we stop here for today?" the girl suddenly said.

Jun Matsue raised his head.

"It's almost lunchtime." She smiled understandingly.

"That's true." Looking at the smiling, beautiful face on the phone screen, the boy didn't immediately end the video call.

"What will Youhua do for lunch? Will she eat alone?"

"Hmm..." Tomatsu Yuka turned her head and glanced at the closed bedroom door. "Mom should be starting to cook soon. She's free these days."

However, there was no sound from the living room; Mom was probably in the study in front of the computer and had lost track of time again.

"Hmm, send it to me later." The boy stood up, holding his phone. "I haven't decided what to eat for lunch yet."

"Okay~" The girl stretched, her form-fitting nightgown outlining her slender figure.

"Then I'll hang up?"

"Bye-Bye."

The image on the screen disappeared in an instant. Jun Matsueda put his phone in his pocket and walked out of the bedroom again.

"Why are you so quiet in the living room?" he asked, looking at the girl sitting on the sofa.

"I just woke up, can't I just space out for a bit?" Yosei Kurusu said, turning around.

She didn't want to reveal that she had been eavesdropping.

Jun Matsueda glanced at her, placed his water glass on the coffee table, and walked toward the refrigerator in the corner.

"What are we having for lunch?" The girl's eyes darted around. "Isn't Wangyue coming back for lunch?"

The boy who was looking at the refrigerator paused for a moment, "She hasn't come back?"

"how could I know!"

"Wait a minute." He went out to check on the apartment next door first, then returned to the living room and took out his phone.

After listening to Tomatsu explain the problems for most of the morning, I almost forgot about the cat girl who hadn't come home yet.

He clicked on the aloof black cat avatar.

Aren't you coming home for lunch?

Mochizuki Haruka replied after a few seconds, sending a picture of her lower body wearing a pure white swimsuit.

The girl lay on a beach chair, her body shaded by a parasol. A pair of delicate, fair feet with painted toenails peeked out from the corner of the chair next to her; they must belong to her aunt.

In front of them was a quiet, deserted, transparent swimming pool, and opposite them were several scantily clad maids and a grill; it seemed their lunch was there.

"It's quite pleasant."

The boy sat on the sofa and replied, while Yosuke Kurusu stood in front of the open refrigerator, deep in thought as he looked at the food.

"Just finished swimming with my aunt." The girl sent another photo, her little feet shining brightly white in the sunlight.

"The physical exam yesterday was fine, but the doctor said she lacks exercise."

"I see, then we really need to get Auntie getting some exercise." Jun Matsueda got up and walked to the girl in front of the refrigerator. "Shall I go cook?"

"Yes, I'll be back this afternoon."

"Don't be tempted by Yosuke Kurusu!" she added as a final remark.

"..." The boy looked up at the girl beside him who was frowning as she inspected the refrigerator.

Kurusu hasn't been tempting him much lately; Mochizuki is just overthinking it.

"So what are we having for lunch? Should we order takeout?" They didn't buy any groceries yesterday, and there were only a few vegetables in the fridge.

Kurusu Yosei shook his head. "I'll burn it!"

"I ate too much barbecue yesterday, so let's have something lighter for lunch." She took out the last spinach and scallion.

"How about some scallion oil noodles, two fried eggs, and a salad?"

Jun Matsue licked his lips. "Sounds good."

Twenty minutes later, the two sat at the dining table with two plates of fragrant scallion oil noodles in front of them, each topped with a perfectly cooked, runny egg, and a refreshing spinach and bacon salad in the middle.

The boy took a bite of the fried egg, picked up a steaming bowl of noodles with his chopsticks, and put it in his mouth along with the runny yolk.

"Delicious!" he mumbled.

“I eat like this when I live alone in an artist's apartment.” Yosei Kurusu rested her chin on her hands, watching the boy chew heartily.

"I've completely mastered your recipe!"

Jun Matsue smiled and looked at the remote control on the coffee table behind him. "Do you want to watch TV?"

"No."

The boy turned around and glanced at her unexpectedly. The girl lowered her head and ate her noodles without saying a word.

Without the background noise of the television, the dining table, occupied only by the two of them, was exceptionally quiet. Apart from the sounds of them eating noodles, the only other sounds were the faint chirping of cicadas outside the window.

Jun Matsugae's previously relaxed mood tensed up a bit; Kurusu might be going to ask Tomatsu about it, he thought.

However, until the two finished their noodles, Kurusu Yosei did not mention this matter. She simply talked about the crispness and freshness of the spinach and the occasional flame that went out when cooking on the old stove.

After everyone had finished eating, Jun Matsue stood up and said, "I'll wash the dishes."

"Okay~" A look of contentment appeared on the girl's face.

The boy breathed a sigh of relief.

The dishes didn't take long to finish. By the time he took off his apron and walked out of the kitchen, the girl in the living room had already changed her clothes and was holding her baseball cap, which she wore when she went out.

Yosei Kurusu glanced at the stunned boy, put on her hat, adjusted the brim, and gave Jun Matsue a bright smile.

"Pine Branch, let's go sing!"
