Chapter 655 Novice Driver and Busy Man

Chapter 655 Novice Driver and Busy Man
The next morning, at 6:50 a.m., while Jun Matsuoka was still getting dressed in his room, there was a knock on his door.

"Is Songzhi still not awake?"

Kurosaki Yosei asked from outside the door, her voice soft, as if she didn't want to wake the others who were still asleep.

"..." The boy pulled down the short-sleeved shirt around his neck, got out of bed, and opened the door.

The girl outside the door was wearing a dark green sun-protective shirt, with an open neckline that revealed a light gray vest underneath. The shirt was tucked into dark denim shorts, showing off her slender waist and long, smooth legs.

This outfit makes her look less sunny and energetic than usual, but more capable and intellectual, like an archaeologist or a backpacker.

She was definitely a backpacker. Jun Matsueda glanced at the backpack she was carrying, then at Aya Miyamura standing behind her, yawning.

"It's a shame that you're dressed like that and don't deserve a Jeep."

"A Jeep?" Yosei Kurusu rested his chin on his hand and imagined it. "It does seem pretty cool."

"But the car has already been rented for today, let's talk about it next time."

She grabbed the boy's shoulders, pulled him out of the room, and pushed him toward the bathroom at the end of the corridor.

"Go brush your teeth and wash your face!"

"Aya-chan and I are all packed and ready to go!"

Five minutes later, Jun Matsue stood in the cafeteria on the first floor. He switched hands and carried a backpack containing a change of clothes, taking a few rice balls from the aunt behind the window.

"Have a safe trip!" the woman said to him with a smile.

"Yes, I will!" The boy smiled and waved to the headmistress sitting in the corner.

"I go first!"

With the old man's gentle smile, he turned and walked towards the door.

As he walked out of the orphanage, a Toyota sedan stopped right in front of Matsueda Jun. The boy stared at the pink, streamlined car for two seconds before getting in.

"The car you picked is quite nice." He looked at the girl in the driver's seat.

Laixi Yangse turned his head, looking extremely smug.

"Of course! I've always had excellent taste!"

After much discussion last night, Idol-san finally decided to rent a car. Transportation in Tochigi Prefecture isn't very developed, so driving is more convenient.

"So how's Kurusu's technique?" Jun Matsueda turned to ask Aya-chan, who was sitting next to him.

More important than the car's appearance was the fact that he had never seen his roommate drive before.

"It feels great." Miyamura Aya nodded seriously. "Smooth and stable, no bumps, trustworthy."

"I have a proper driver's license!" Yosei Kurusu said with dissatisfaction, picking up the documents placed to the side and waving them.

"Can I relax now?"

"I'm relieved." The boy nodded. "Let's go."

At seven o'clock in the morning, the pink Toyota from Kiyoshi smoothly drove out of Mitaka and headed towards Tochigi Prefecture.

"So where to go first?" Jun Matsue yawned as he looked at the rapidly approaching national highway sign ahead.

The girls were having a lively discussion last night, but he was with the children and didn't listen to much of it.

"Let's go to Nikko first! Then to Nasu the next day! And home on the third day!" Aya Miyamura said excitedly.

The boy looked at the map. "They're all within Tochigi Prefecture."

"Aren't you going to Nagano? Karuizawa is quite famous, isn't it?"

"No way! Karuizawa's become Tokyoites' backyard!" the girl gripping the steering wheel said without hesitation. "What's so great about a rich person's vacation spot?"

"I don't think you're poor now."

Miss Idol stepped on the gas, "Then I'll be different from them!"

"Yes, yes." The boy nodded with a smile.

Not long after, they left downtown Tokyo, and there were fewer cars on the road. Jun Matsueda glanced at the girl next to him who was wearing headphones and dozing off by the car window, and then looked at the rearview mirror in front of the car—the idol was already wearing sunglasses and black sun protection sleeves, and looked particularly cool as she gripped the steering wheel.

The girl in the mirror slightly raised her head, and the boy felt her gaze coming towards him from behind her sunglasses.

"Why are you looking at me? Are you still worried about my driving skills?" Yosuke Kurusu pouted.

"You can't even drive, yet you're worried about me?"

“That makes sense.” The boy took out his phone. “It’s good to drive yourself; at least you don’t have to wear a hat and mask now.”

"Hmm~" The girl nodded happily. She pressed a button, and a light melody floated up in the carriage, swaying with the trees on both sides of the road.

When he opened the chat list again and saw the word "OK" next to the parrot avatar, Jun Matsue remembered that he had something to tell his senior yesterday.

He had completely forgotten... He opened the chat window and sent another message to Yamami Maki.

"Something came up last night, and I forgot to call Yamami-senpai. Sorry."

The message was quickly marked as read. Jun Matsue checked the time: 7:42. His senior should not have started class yet.

“It’s okay~” the girl sent a wobbly little duck emoji. “So, what exactly is the situation, Miss Kurusu?”

The boy thought for a moment, "Aren't you in a hurry to go to class?"

"The first class today is at nine o'clock. Will Songzhi be talking for a long time?"

“No need.” Jun Matsueda looked up at the driver’s seat again before carefully typing.

The first class... He suddenly realized that he still didn't know what Yami Maki's major was.

Did she choose between education or literature, which was originally agreed upon? Or did she follow the advice of her elders?
Actually, the school had posted the destinations of outstanding graduates on the bulletin board back then, but the boys didn't look at it.

Jun Matsue didn't plan to ask the girl on the other side of the screen right now. He just listened to the light music, read the text in the input box again, and then clicked send.

There's a lot of content, and typing it out is quite troublesome, but they've long since stopped exchanging voice messages, so this is the only way.

"Hmm... So Ms. Kurusu is looking for a new agency, right?"

“Yes.” Jun Matsueda continued tapping the screen. “So, does your company offer this kind of service?”

“Yes!” the girl replied immediately. “My sister is currently in charge of music and entertainment, and signing artists is also within her scope of work.”

Should I ask her now?

"You can ask whenever you feel comfortable, thank you so much, Yamami-senpai."

"It's okay!" the girl quickly replied with a smiley face. "Then I'll ask my sister later, and I'll let you know as soon as I have any news!"

"Okay, thank you."

The chat box stopped extending downwards and froze on the parrot's nodding emoticon. Jun Matsueda watched as the words "typing in progress" appeared several times at the top of the page before disappearing into a blank screen.

"What is Songzhi looking at with his head down?" The girl in the rearview mirror looked over.

Jun Matsue put down his phone. "If I look up at you, you're not satisfied; if I don't look at you, you're still not satisfied. What am I supposed to do?"

Kurosaki Yosei gave a soft hum, pulled the car over to the side of the road, and patted the passenger seat next to her.

"Get in and drive with me!"

"You're all in the back, and I'm so bored by myself."

After exchanging a glance with Kurusu through his sunglasses, Jun Matsueda opened the car door and sat back down in the passenger seat.

The sound of the car door closing startled Aya Miyamura from her nap. The girl took off her headphones and asked groggily.

"Have we arrived?" "Just left Tokyo." Kurusu Yosei smiled at her. "I was a little bored sitting alone in the front, so I stopped the car and let Matsue sit in the front to keep me company."

"Oh..." Aya rubbed her eyes and lay down in the back row. "It's nice, it's more comfortable to sleep like this."

However, the girl was soon woken up again—just a few minutes after the car got back on the road, the phone rang in the cramped space.

Yosuke Kurusu glanced at the boy next to him out of the corner of his eye; the words "Moon Gazing" were displayed on his phone screen.

"Quickly think of a way to deal with her~" the girl said with a grin.

Matsueda Jun rolled his eyes at her, and answered the phone without much hesitation—he was already mentally prepared for Mochizuki to find out about this.

"Did you go out for a drive with Yosuke Kurusu?" the girl on the phone asked bluntly.

You could tell from her voice that Mochizuki Haruka was in a bad mood—she received a call from the orphanage staff as soon as she woke up today, and she rushed to call the boy without even getting out of bed.

“And there’s Aya-chan too. The three of us came out together,” Jun Matsueda immediately emphasized.

"Is she with you?" the girl asked warily.

The boy turned around to look at the back row, and Miyamura Aya cleverly spoke up, "Hello, Haruka-neechan, we're on our way."

Jun Matsue turned around, and the cat on the other end of the phone, its fur standing on end, was still asking questions.

"Even Songzhi didn't want to come back with me, so why did she go out with them?" Mochizuki Haruka's voice was a little hoarse from just waking up, and she sounded aggrieved.

“...I’m not going to Kurusu’s hometown either,” he replied softly.

"Then where are you going?"

"Don't tell Mochizuki!" Kurusu Yosei said, gripping the steering wheel. "If we tell her, we'll change our plans immediately!"

"..." Jun Matsue glanced at her. "We're going to Tochigi Prefecture. We'll be back in two days."

In Japan, a "county" is equivalent to a province, which is such a large area that Mochizuki probably couldn't find it all.

"Just two days?"

"I'll be back the day after tomorrow. By then, you should be back in Tokyo by now."

"Hmm..." the girl's voice was a little softer, "I'll be a day later."

"That's perfect." Jun Matsue looked at the sly smile on the face of the person next to him. "I'll bring you some local specialties back with me."

"I must see you when I come back!" Mochizuki Haruka said unwillingly.

"rest assured."

"Don't share a room with Yosuke Kurusu, okay?"

"Of course..." the boy replied helplessly.

When the call ended, the girl next to him curled her lip in disdain, "She's so nosy."

"If Kurusu is your girlfriend, wouldn't you care?" Jun Matsueda put down his phone and asked her in return.

Sitting in the back, Aya Miyamura leaned against the back of their chairs, watching their conversation with amusement.

The girl gripped the steering wheel tighter and snorted, "Anyway, I'm not your girlfriend yet~"

The boy was speechless.

"Speaking of which, is Chun-ge going to take a driving test after graduation?" Cai-jiang chimed in at the opportune moment.

"Probably." Jun Matsueda nodded. "Usually, people just enroll in a 14-day driving school during the summer after graduation to get their license."

"By the way, when did Kurusu get his driver's license?"

She became an idol halfway through high school and never had the chance to drive again, so getting a driver's license should have been unnecessary for her.

"Me?" Yosuke Kurusu lifted his sunglasses and put them on his bangs like a headband, a cool move that showed off his beautiful profile.

"It was during the tour about six months ago—when I mentioned to my manager that I wanted to buy a car in the future, she told me that I could take advantage of the free time in preparing for the show to get my driver's license first."

"So I took the test."

"Wow, that's amazing!" Miyamura Aya clapped her hands.

"But today was actually my first time driving since I finished my exams," Miss Idol said with a wink, completely unashamed.

Jun Matsue and the girl in the back seat simultaneously widened their eyes, "You really dare to drive like that—"

"What's there to be afraid of?" Lai Qiyou straightened her chest, her cleavage accentuated by the seatbelt.

"I've already driven dozens of kilometers, and I'm perfectly fine!"

The boy looked up at the gray ceiling of the carriage, while Cai Jiang behind him frantically searched for the seatbelt.

A few minutes later, the pink, older model Toyota drove onto the bridge. Ahead was a long, narrow lake, and below was a quietly flowing river. The two were parallel, giving people a sense of harmony and tranquility.

"This is Arakawa..."

As Jun Matsueda watched the notice board flash by on the bridge, he recalled the group photo he had taken with the girls in the Arakawa Ward at sunset.

The boy took out his phone, took pictures of the lake and river outside the bridge, and sent them to the felt penguin avatar with a camera icon in the chat box.

"I can see the Arakawa River."

"Beautiful!" Natsumi Imokawa replied quickly. "Where is Matsue?"

"On the way out of Tokyo, I went to Tochigi Prefecture with Kurusu and the others for two days."

She replied a little slower this time, "Oh..."

"I was originally going to ask if Songzhi was available, but the sun has been so strong these past few days, I feel like it's the perfect weather for filming the ending."

"Then wait a few days, I'll be back in Tokyo soon."

The girl replied with a penguin bowing emoji.

When Jun Matsueda looked up, the girl in the driver's seat was glancing at him sideways.

"What are you doing?" The boy sensed a critical look in her eyes.

"Matsue is such a busy man~" Yosei Kurusu said in a sour tone.

"After getting on the bus, you kept sending messages. Were you chatting with girls?"

Jun Matsueda placed his phone in the back seat, and Aya Miyamura smiled and reached out to take it.

"What would you like me to talk about, Miss Kurusu? Just tell me."

"I want to hear Pine Branch sing," the girl said bluntly, turning off the music.

"Sing anything you like!"

The boy thought for a moment, then took a sip of water and cleared his throat.

"Asakawa in early summer~"

Your smile today will never fade.

"Ah~ in the time when neither of us was aware of the other~"

"The water flows away just like that~"

To the sound of the boy's clear and pure singing voice, the pink Toyota slowly approached Nikko City, where the highest temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.
