Chapter 16 Strip Club
"Come on!"

Zhou Yi gripped the rifle tightly and released his grip on Gina's hand.

His voice was hoarse, and his breathing was filled with a burning discomfort.

The emergency exit at the end of the corridor was faintly visible through the hazy smoke and dust.

After confirming that Gina was right behind him, Zhou Yi pulled open the slightly deformed safety door in front of him.

The stairwell was damp and cold, with no windows.

A dim light bulb hangs from the concrete ceiling.

I had just gone down two floors when I heard a flurry of footsteps.

Zhou Yi had a bad feeling. He stopped at the corner, pressed Gina against the wall, and gestured for her not to move.

He quickly peered out and saw two figures rapidly approaching, about to collide head-on in ten seconds.

Seeing this, Zhou Yi no longer hesitated, suddenly leaned forward, raised his rifle, aimed at the leading enemy, and pulled the trigger.

Three bursts of fire, and blood splattered on the wall.

The enemy's body jolted, and before he could even scream, he fell straight backward.

His teammates standing behind him paused for only half a second before turning their guns around and opening fire.

Unexpectedly, Zhou Yi succeeded in his attack and then hid behind the wall.

ten.

twenty.

thirty.

He counted silently in his mind.

Finally, taking advantage of the moment when the reload sounded, he leaned out and fired again, accurately hitting the enemy in the chest.

Before the man could finish issuing his warning, he groaned and collapsed to the ground.

The next second, the support team arrived at the scene.

Amid the whistling of bullets, more than a dozen figures emerged from around the corner.

Left with no other option, Zhou Yi raised his gun again and began suppressing fire at the stairwell.

Flames spewed forth, repelling those who charged at the forefront.

However, just as he ran out of bullets, Zhou Yi didn't have time to retreat. He only felt a weight on his left arm and a burning pain.

He looked down and saw that blood had stained his cuffs and was dripping down his elbows onto the floor.

damn it.

That's really bad luck.

With his adrenaline surging, Zhou Yi simply pulled out his last grenade from his pocket, pulled the pin, and threw it forcefully downwards.

The roar of an explosion rang out.

He turned and ran, the flames instantly engulfing the narrow space behind him.

Gina stumbled along beside her, breathing rapidly.

Rushing all the way to the top floor, Zhou Yi used his shoulder to smash open the iron door leading to the rooftop, and the damp sea breeze rushed in.

Ignoring the injury on his arm, Zhou Yi painfully closed the door, picked up a rusty water pipe from the ground, and inserted it into the latch to hold it firmly in place.

Looking around, his gaze finally settled on a slightly shorter building next to him.

It's just a narrow alleyway, only three or four meters away from here.

"jump over."

Zhou Yi gave the order.

Gina stood rooted to the spot, her lips trembling: "No, I... I can't do it."

A loud slam came from behind the door, making the iron pipes vibrate and hum.

The enemy caught up again.

Without giving her time to hesitate, Zhou Yi grabbed Gina's wrist, forcibly pulled her to the edge, and shoved her hard.

Gina let out a piercing scream as her body arced through the air before crashing heavily onto the concrete ground opposite her, rolling several times before coming to a stop.

"Bang bang bang-"

The enemy began firing at the iron gate; bullets pierced through the pipes, sending up blinding sparks.

time is limited.

Despite the pain, Zhou Yi took a few steps back, then suddenly rushed to the edge, using his feet to propel himself to the other side.

A drop of six or seven meters, the wind whistling in his ears. After tumbling to cushion the fall, Zhou Yi knelt on the ground, using his right hand to support himself as he staggered to his feet.

At that moment, the shouts from the other side suddenly became clear.

The enemy has broken through the blockade and is rapidly approaching the edge of the rooftop.

Zhou Yi kicked open the fence gate next to him, grabbed Gina and pushed her inside, then followed closely behind.

And so, the two of them practically tumbled and crawled down to the first floor, pried open the side door, and slipped into the back alley.

After confirming that no pursuers were approaching, Zhou Yi called out to Gina and, trembling, untied his soaked sleeves.

The bullet grazed the outside of his upper arm, leaving a long, irregular wound that tore open the flesh and caused blood to gush out.

Fortunately, the brachial artery and bone were not touched, so it will not be immediately fatal.

Feeling slightly relieved, Zhou Yi gestured for Gina to take off her shirt.

He took the clothes, tore off a relatively clean piece of fabric with his teeth, folded it into several layers, and applied it to the wound.

"Press here."

Zhou Yi pointed to the bleeding point above the wound, indicating that Gina should press it firmly.

When she touched the warm blood, Gina couldn't help but shiver, but she forced herself to do as she was told, despite her fear.

With his right hand free, Zhou Yi tore off the remaining sleeve of his shirt and used it as a makeshift bandage, wrapping it around his arm several times.

The cloth strip tightened, and the pain suddenly intensified.

It felt as if a dagger had pierced my nerves and then violently churned them.

Zhou Yi's face turned pale, but his hands did not hesitate at all.

He gritted his teeth and tied a knot to secure the strip of cloth, then wiggled his fingers to make sure the blood supply wasn't completely blocked.

Gina released the pressure, her voice trembling slightly: "We need to go to the hospital, this won't do."

"You can't go to a regular hospital."

Feeling the faint burning sensation in his wound, Zhou Yi strode towards the alley entrance. "These people can even get their hands on SMAW. With the government backing them, it would be effortless for them to issue arrest warrants for the two of us."

“Then let’s go to the unlicensed clinic.” Gina limped after Zhou Yi, her body covered in abrasions. “I know a doctor who doesn’t have a license, but he’s quite skilled.”

"how far?"

“In the Lapa district, three kilometers from here, I dealt with him when I was still in the intelligence agency.”

As they spoke, the two had already crossed the alleyway and arrived at the street.

A young Black man was standing on the sidewalk, bending down to inspect his modified motorcycle covered in bright graffiti.

He had just raised his head when he saw a man and a woman, covered in blood and dressed in rags, approaching him.

Realizing something was wrong, the young man immediately tried to get in his car and run away.

Unexpectedly, Zhou Yi darted forward and pulled out the motorcycle key.

"you--"

The young man's eyes widened, and he was about to say something when he saw Zhou Yi throw the rifle he was carrying on the ground.

The matte black coating exudes a cold aura under the sunlight.

His expression froze instantly, and he quickly raised his hands: "Brother, let's talk this out. Take the car, but don't hurt anyone."

Without saying a word, Zhou Yi turned around and let Gina get in the car, while he sat in the back seat.

"Come on."

As soon as he finished speaking, the motorcycle shot off with a whoosh.

The exhaust fumes kicked up heat and dust, leaving the stunned young Black man standing there speechless.

After speeding along for about ten minutes, Gina parked the car next to a low building.

The exterior walls were painted in glaring pink and purple, and the paint at the edges had begun to peel off, revealing the gray-black cement wall underneath.

A dark red velvet cloth hung on the window, the roller shutter was tightly closed, and a business hours schedule with faded writing was pasted on it.

At the bottom of the steps, two shirtless men were slumped on a worn-out folding chair.

His eyes were unfocused as he stared at the sky, a smile playing on his lips, completely unaware of the stranger's approach.

“Paraíso Tropical”.

Standing in front of the door, Zhou Yi looked up and read the name on the neon sign, his expression strange: "The doctor you're talking about works in a brothel?"

"Uh, to be precise, it's a strip club."
