Chapter 34 Elevator
Zhou Yi took a sip of whiskey, the ice cubes clinking gently in the glass.

Through the amber-colored liquid, he saw the lights on the dance floor below, flashing, flickering, and then going out, engulfing the reveling crowd like a tide.

Zhou Yi shifted to a more comfortable position, leaning against the glass railing, his gaze fixed on the closed private room in the distance.

Three tall bodyguards were scattered nearby, mingling among the infatuated men and women.

He was dressed in a suit and tie, looking alert, and occasionally turned his head to whisper something to his collar.

Zhou Yi compared his observations over the past few days and found that one person seemed to be missing.

But this soon stopped mattering.

He thought for a moment, then took out his old Nokia phone from his pocket and gently pressed the call button.

one second.

two seconds.

With a slight tremor, all the lights in the building suddenly went out.
Darkness comes.

Anxiety quietly spread among the crowd.

Fortunately, the backup power supply started up shortly afterward, and the red emergency light came on.

Standing at the edge of the dance floor, Gina watched as order gradually returned and couldn't help but feel grateful for Zhou Yi's caution.

Under the cover of the dim light, she quietly threw the pistol she was carrying into the center of the crowd, then pointed at the ground and shouted, "Gun! There's a gun! Murder!"

Gina's scream was like a spark falling into a gasoline drum.

Panic escalated again as people rushed toward the exits.

The wine bottle was kicked over, and the sound of shattering glass was particularly jarring amidst the chaos.

The emergency lights cast a dim red glow, illuminating the terrified and distorted faces.

Seeing that the situation was completely out of control, Zhou Yi turned slightly to look towards the private room.

Sure enough, the door opened not long after.

The brown-haired young man in the shirt finally appeared.

The three bodyguards waiting outside immediately stepped forward and surrounded Gabriel.

The fourth person, who had not yet appeared, stood close behind him, keeping watch and directing the others to evacuate quickly.

Zhou Yi put down the whiskey in his hand, and the Glock 17 hidden in his sleeve quietly slipped into his palm.

He slightly adjusted his collar, pushed aside the terrified crowd around him, and quietly followed.

The group walked quickly and eventually stopped in front of a private elevator.

While waiting, the leader pulled out a pistol and cautiously scanned his surroundings.

Zhou Yi remained hidden around the corner, holding his breath, and did not reveal himself rashly.

"Ding--"

As a crisp announcement rang out, the elevator doors slowly opened.

Gabriel entered the building under the escort of the others.

Zhou Yi was not in a hurry and waited patiently.

Finally, just as the elevator doors were about to close, I rushed inside.

The lead bodyguard was startled when he saw the stranger and was about to raise his pistol.

"boom!"

The bullet pierced his forehead cleanly and decisively.

The man on the left also realized what was happening and reached for his waist with his right hand, ready to draw his gun.

However, Zhou Yi was faster. In an instant, he lowered his center of gravity, flipped the gun, and pulled the trigger.

"boom!"

The man let out a few short, sharp breaths and instinctively covered his neck.

Blood gushed from between his fingers. He didn't even have time to scream before collapsing to the ground.

At the same time, the two bodyguards behind him raised their guns and stepped back, trying to create distance and fire.

Without giving them a chance to adjust, Zhou Yi flashed forward and quickly approached the target.

He reached out with his left hand, grabbed the wrist of the nearest person, and twisted it sharply.

"Crack!"

With a dull thud as bones dislocate, the man's gun went out of control, pointing directly at his comrade.

The next moment, Zhou Yi pressed the gun against his ribs and fired two shots.

"Bang! Bang!"

The bullet pierced the soft tissue, causing the man's knees to buckle and his fingers to clench instinctively. "Thud!"

The gun discharged accidentally, and the bullet lodged in his companion's chest.

The other person only had time to let out a muffled groan before staggering and falling to the ground.

Zhou Yi released the corpse from his grasp, leaned close to the dying man, and calmly fired the final shot.

"boom!"

In just a few seconds, the elevator fell into a deathly silence, the air thick with the smell of gunpowder and blood.

Gabriel huddled in the corner, trembling, his eyes filled with terror.

Zhou Yi raised his hand to wipe the blood splattered on his face, and smiled as he pointed the gun at the young man lying on the ground.

“Come with me, Teixeira.”

Gabriel's heart pounded wildly, and cold sweat trickled down his temples.

He only realized he had fallen into a carefully laid trap when the other party accurately called out his surname.

Looking down at the corpse at his feet, Gabriel suppressed the nausea rising within him, remained silent for a moment, and finally nodded weakly.

"Ding--!"

Just then, the elevator doors slowly slid open.

Fresh air rushed in, slightly dispersing the heavy stench of blood in the enclosed space.

The second basement level is a parking lot.

Because of a wiring issue, we were not affected by the power outage upstairs.

Zhou Yi raised his chin, gesturing for Gabriel to walk out first.

The two of them arrived at a silver pickup truck one after the other.

"Give me your phone."

Staring at the dark muzzle of the gun, Gabriel swallowed hard, his fingers trembling as he pulled out his phone and handed it over.

Zhou Yi didn't even bother to unlock it; he simply weighed the phone lightly in his hand and tossed it into the nearby drain.

"Take off your clothes now."

"W-what?"

"To make sure you don't have a tracking device implanted, after all, you have a good father with a special profession."

Zhou Yi's tone remained calm.

Gabriel's cheek twitched, as if he wanted to retort and tell the Asian man that he wasn't wearing any tracking device at all.

But he knew the other party wouldn't believe him at all.

After a five-second standoff, he closed his eyes and humiliatingly removed his clothes.

One button at a time, he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his thin chest.

Gabriel felt as if all his dignity had been stripped away.

Just as he continued to pull down his pants, footsteps came from the side.

Zhou Yi looked up and saw that it was Gina.

She took off her hat, revealing a buzz cut that looked like it had been chewed by a dog.

Combined with her loose jeans and T-shirt, she looked more like a thug who would steal a car on the street.

His gaze shifted between the two men, and Gabriel stood there for a long while, his breathing becoming rapid.

He finally recognized the man and woman.

“Your father will not let you get away with this, Lopez.”

He threatened with difficulty, straining to straighten his back, trying to salvage some face: "You'll die a very bad death—"

Before the words were even finished, *smack!*

A slap landed hard on his face.

Gina flicked her reddened hand and sneered, "Guess who's holding the gun right now? You son of a bitch, you piece of trash."

Gabriel staggered to his feet, half of his face swollen and burning with pain from the slap.

His anger surged, and he was about to explode when Zhou Yi let out a soft laugh, which frightened him so much that he instantly deflated, his face turning ashen as he swallowed back the curse that was about to spill from his lips.

"Keep taking your clothes off."

Zhou Yi lowered the muzzle of his gun, aiming it at his trembling knee.
