Chapter 1184 Good Things Happen One After Another

Once the balance is broken, it triggers a chain reaction, which is exactly what's happening now. Things are expanding wildly, breaking free from their original constraints, and causing numerous external influences and changes. When John learned of the changes in the Middle Eastern tycoons, he didn't pay much attention; this demonstrates his confidence.

As its expansion in Southeast Asia accelerates and its various strategies are implemented, everything is developing in its favor. This shift has significantly impacted Japan and South Korea, countries lacking resources, whose desire for resources has always been urgent. Now, with Asian Energy and Quantum Mining taking advantage of the economic crisis to aggressively reap the benefits of Southeast Asia's resources, Japan is also tempted and considering deepening cooperation.

Of course, the Koreans were the most eager, after all, they had made the wrong decision before and missed the opportunity. Now that the opportunity had come again, they were naturally tempted. Although Southeast Asia's resources were not as readily available as Sakhalin Island's, they were still closer than those in the Middle East, and compared to the Middle Eastern tycoons, cooperating with John was easier for them.

Good news kept coming. Just as things were changing with the Middle Eastern tycoon, another piece of good news arrived for John: Sachiko Kamachi was pregnant. John had always hoped for the family's growth, and he cherished every child he had!

John wouldn't be too worried if it were Momoko Kikuchi or even Nanako Matsushima, but Sachiko Kamachi was a different story. Concerned about potential problems, he quickly made arrangements for her to leave Japan to avoid unnecessary trouble. At this time, caution was paramount; he feared someone in Japan might try to scheme against him, since those people had no scruples whatsoever.

To John's surprise, when Sachiko Kamachi arrived, Lee Boo-jin also appeared. She came with a mission. The Koreans had new ideas and were eyeing Asian energy again. Seeing the rapid expansion and increasing strength of Asian energy, these guys were tempted. Especially when they saw that the Japanese had already started to enjoy cheap energy, they felt extremely painful. There is no harm without comparison!

John shook his head at Lee Boo-jin's situation. These Koreans are short-sighted and ignorant. Even at this point, they haven't figured out what they should be concerned about. They really think that Soros and his ilk are only targeting Southeast Asian countries and have no designs on them. At this time, what they should be doing is strengthening their dollar reserves, not talking to him about energy supply issues. Even if they could cooperate, it would take time.

"Ignore those guys. For now, you should stay here. While they're busy scheming and plotting, they're not focusing on strengthening themselves. Do they really think American conglomerates' money is so easy to swindle? Meanwhile, you can use your time to reorganize the Southeast Asian retail industry for me. Once this crisis is over, it'll be time to return to Southeast Asia and reclaim all our assets!"

"Aren't you afraid they'll rip you off again?" Lee Boo-jin looked at John with a puzzled expression, not quite understanding his thinking. They had given up on 7-Eleven convenience stores and other retail businesses in Southeast Asia. Although they hadn't suffered much loss and had even made a small profit, the wasted time and energy were not so easy to erase.

"Do you think they still have the strength? Don't just look at the surface; you need to look at the deeper situation. Do you think I'm gaining or losing in this confrontation? Is time important to us? I believe those guys won't dare to have that ridiculous idea again this time. If they still dare to play tricks on me, it won't end as easily as before!"

John accepted those guys' schemes before because he was also scheming against them. After this economic crisis ends, if they try to play tricks again, John won't let them get away with it. They'll pay a heavy price then.

Seeing Lee Boo-jin's thoughtful expression, John smiled calmly and said, "Alright, just keep it to yourself. Before absolute power, no matter how many schemes they have, they're utterly helpless. Don't forget my identity; I have the United States behind me. Which guys do you think dare to oppose the United States?" Let alone those guys in Southeast Asia, even the Koreans are no match for the United States. Don't be fooled by their arrogance and boastfulness. When Soros turns his attention to them, these guys won't be laughing anymore and will pay a heavy price. These guys don't even know what Japan is like. When has Japan ever dared to oppose the Americans? How miserable Japan is under American pressure.

John wasn't entirely unmoved by the Koreans' request for cooperation. After all, it would be foolish to give up such a large market. However, he wasn't about to let those Koreans get away with it for nothing; they would have to pay a price. Once Soros took action against the Koreans and they were in crisis, he could then seize the opportunity to extract even more benefits from them.

John has his sights set on South Korea's heavy industry, especially Daewoo. Daewoo is in a precarious situation right now, and if Soros makes a move, Daewoo's cash flow could be at risk of drying up, presenting him with an opportunity to make his move. If possible, John wants to acquire Daewoo Shipbuilding and Daewoo Motors.

After experiencing many trials, Lee Boo-jin gradually saw through John's schemes. Although Daewoo was regarded as a national hero in South Korea and was developing rapidly, Lee Boo-jin had already seen the danger behind it. Once Daewoo's capital chain broke, there would be a risk of bankruptcy and liquidation. Moreover, Daewoo had too many loans and was on the verge of collapse.

"Really ignoring them and giving up this market is a huge financial loss, especially since they've already made concessions this time!" Lee Boo-jin still wanted to try and persuade them, after all, she was Korean and had a little bit of patriotism. Although not much, she wouldn't mind helping out if given the chance!
“Giving up is impossible, but cooperation won't happen now either. Those guys still lack sincerity. Look at the conditions Japan offered, and look at what they offered. Do you think I need to cooperate with them? I could easily cooperate with those Japanese guys in the same situation, and I don't need to rush into it. Taiwan's energy needs are also considerable. If they can't show sincerity, we'll just drag this out! I can wait, but whether they can wait is another matter!” As he spoke, a faint sneer appeared on John's face. Those Koreans were as arrogant as ever, failing to recognize the situation and unable to see the road ahead!

Cooperation should look like cooperation. It can't be about you monopolizing all the benefits, or you taking the lion's share while John, Asian Energy, and Quantum Mining only get a pittance. Such cooperation is utterly impossible. Greed has clouded these guys' judgment, making them blind to the reality of the situation. If these guys could see the situation clearly, they wouldn't offer such terms. Even if they offered the same terms as Japan, John would carefully consider it and give them a chance.

If these Koreans had been able to cooperate with John before Soros attacked them, even if it was just an agreement, they would have mitigated their losses when the crisis hit. Unfortunately, these guys were too greedy. They thought their own market was their best asset and wanted to gain more benefits, so they missed another opportunity!

Look at Japan, then look at them—there's no comparison. The Japanese are greedy too, but they can recognize the situation and make reasonable arrangements. These Koreans, however, lack that ability. All they see is their own self-interest, their own gains and losses!

While these guys were still scheming against John, they were unaware that they had already fallen into John's trap. They thought themselves clever, oblivious to the danger rapidly approaching. The situation in Southeast Asia had deteriorated to such an extent, yet these Koreans remained oblivious to the crisis, still lost in their own self-delusion!

To rapidly expand and strengthen their conglomerates, South Korean conglomerates received massive financial support from the government and banks. It was this substantial financial backing that enabled their rapid growth and transformation into numerous conglomerates. However, these enormous loans must eventually be repaid, and any mishap could be disastrous for them.
Although Quantum Mining, Asian Energy, and even John's other companies are expanding rapidly and carrying considerable debt, these loans are all within safe limits. Most importantly, John has Standard Chartered Bank and Hurricane Investment behind him, and the loan risk is not high, with interest rates consistently low. However, Daewoo Group does not have such strength.

What are John's core businesses in South Korea now? Shipbuilding, automobiles, and petrochemicals and steel. However, Lee Boo-jin has never shared her suspicions with anyone, not even her own father. From the moment she decided to follow John, her ties with Samsung were severed, making it difficult for her to inherit much from the family. Now, she focuses all her energy on John's investments and on herself!
Don't be fooled by Lee Boo-jin's efforts to advocate for Samsung and even South Korea; she only does so as long as it doesn't harm her own interests. Once her own interests are damaged, she won't pay any attention to those guys!
